For people who are confused: This is a brand new single player game set in the dbd universe, featuring as far as we know original characters (who will likely come to dbd as skins or characters in the future). This is made in collaboration with Supermassive games, who are known to be behind “Until Dawn”, “The Quarry”, and “The Dark Pictures Anthology”. This game will likely be in a style where the player makes choices that will alter the story. It will release sometime in 2024. By the way, the song is “Daylight” by David Kushner

I love how his helmet is shaped like Entity's jaws, solid way to reveal more about the character through his design

I like how the killer already looks so unsure about what he wants to do and what he’s becoming and when he’s shown off in the mask it looks like he’s just exhausted and so regretful of whatever deal he made with the entity

If they really want this to feel special, I hope we also get to make choices from the killer POV. Remember that most killers are as much victims of the entity as the survivors and want to escape this purgatory.

Just looking into that Killer’s eyes, you can tell he’s broken.

I like how there is a glint of light in Frank's eyes, that there is a hint of humanity in him. Usually, people make sure that there is no light glinting in the eye of an evil character, to show that there is no life or soul in them. But Frank shows that glint in his eye, meaning that there is more to him than a killer.

Hands down.. this trailer gives me chills... Music goes soo well. Short story, animation, concept of a killer, and even survivors finally look like some random group of friends who stumbles uppon some cruel things to witness. All i can say "Well done guys, you did amazing job"

There’s a lot of symbolism in the name “The Casting Of Frank Stone” Frank Stoke being some form of character. Casting either being casted by the entity for what we know as “The Trials” or casting in terms of being shaped or molded by the entity. As well as casting and stone in the title could imply the saying “Casting the first stone” so this may very well be some form of beginning to the story we know, this may have been where the first stone of our story is casted.

A single player game, a PvE game and a film in the making. As a person who was there since the launch of Dead by Daylight. It's really nice to see how far they've come.

"Oh, I love it and I hate it at the same time" - the lyrics of the song fit perfectly with the DBD. Hated by tunnelers in the game and campers but still play because you love the game.

Perfect music choice, i am so in. This has to be one of the best directed trailers for anything I have ever seen. Well done on both companies, you guys knocked it out of the park.

It feels so tragic yet sadistic, they goated at building an atmosphere frfr.

Some hunches I have about this game 1. This could possibly be the first killer that arrived in The Entities realm and tells the story about how he got there before being tossed into The Void 2. The screams in the background are most likely the four main characters being held captive by said killer who at some point during the game manage to escape and you have to help them make it out alive. 3. The Entity's full physical form is seen for the first time, that being a gigantic spider. While it is said that the realm itself IS The Entity (ex. Trees, Birds, pallets etc) on the official DBD wiki it states that The Entities most preferred form is that of a Spider, resembling something from Stephen Kings IT. 4. It's my strong hunch that whoever it is that is supposed to canonically survive the game will most likely show up as a future survivor in the core game. All in all I'm really excited for this game, can't wait to get my hands on it. Edit: When I was looking at the steam page for the game, I also noticed a pharmaceutical store that had "Afterpiece Tonic" on it, so we'll probably get to meet a younger version of The Clown at some point? Or maybe a close relative that refers to him. Edit 2: Did some thinking and I believe that we will experience the 4 main characters get taken by The Entity, which will result in them encountering Frank Stone and we will experience a full trial in a more cinematic perspective. This would explain why his workbench is covered in nature by the time the others show up. So before that happens, it’s really more so getting to know the towns history and the scars Frank left behind.

For anyone wondering what the gameplay and chase sequences will be like: Most of the game is cutscenes where you make choices that determine events that happen and who lives/dies. All action sequences during the game are also cutscenes with things like "Quick Time Events". For example, if you had to jump over a pallet to escape the killer in the game a buttom would appear on the screen. If you press the button before it vanishes you jump over the pallet, if you don't then the character is either permenantly dead or lives through luck somehow. The rest of the gameplay while not being chased will basically be 3rd person and you will just walk around through areas finding clues and trying to escape. 1:15 we get a closeup of a more indepth visual of the entity, awesome.

Still can’t get over how awesome the entity looks. We’ve never seen the entity as ominous and cataclysmic as it looks here when descending from the clouds. That combined with the music really makes it feel like an actual god is entering the realm in the presence of something horrible about to happen that’s beyond our wildest nightmares. I’m so excited

Finally expanding the DBD franchise in a way that makes the most sense. Not everyone likes 4v1’s. But a LOT of people like horror based story games. Imagine new characters or existing characters story fleshed out in an interactive way. THIS is a good sign.

You can see the reference from the song itself, Frank doesn't really want to kill but he's being forced by the entity. "Hiding all of our sins from the daylight" His eyes speaks from the sins he committed, such a powerful trailer indeed.

What a good trailer. The music gave me chills, and I am so excited for more DBD lore - lore I thought I'd never get in a spin off game in the same universe as DBD with quality this high.

People may not realize but this is HUGE actually 😳😳 I remember when DBD came in 2016, Until Dawn was quite popular game in horror genre (infact 1 of the best) to the point i feel DBD took some inspiration & similarities in art & lore from that game. So watching this collab now is like a dream come true. Hoping this will be a good success.

Man this game is going to be something else. As someone who knows how intense and rich the lore is and how many of the killers are victims too when the song crescendos and it shows Frank's mentally tortured face it makes me tear up a bit. This story is going to be dark, simply because of the universe it is set in and what the killer's are put through.

So cool to see a trailer for this! I've been looking forward to it since the announcement at the anniversary stream. Supermassive games made some awesome games, can't wait for their take on the DBD lore. (And DBD lore in general. We've been starved for it since Blight came out, other than a few minor things and the observer disappearing)

It seems very intentional that frank is shown when the song goes "oh i love it and i hate it at the same time, hiding all of my sins from the daylight" im gonna assume he of course is taken unwillingly by the entity and has to do its bidding and kill people, he clearly does not seem happy, he even seems a bit sad at the end where hes just staring. I imagine hes probably forced into doing a bunch of horrible stuff for the entity. God i cant wait for this game

As a fan of both dbd and super massive games this game looks so amazing and I'm so excited to play it, I hope we get super massive games characters and content in the base game

I never thought my favorite song was going to be in my favorite horror game trailer this really give me JOY!

My theory rn is that this is gonna be the backstory of how the entity takes people and what it does to them. I think that it was very intentional that frank is shown when the lyrics say "oh i love it and I hate it at the same time, hiding all of our sins from the daylight", I think he's being forced to do stuff like unwillingly killing people because the entity makes him do so. He doesn't seem to be very happy at the end or like he's enjoying this. I hope it goes into the psyche of him, imagine being forced to kill people and being called a serial killer and a monster by other people, but you're being forced to do it, that'd be fucked. I also think that the survivors we see are the original 4 survivors parents, dwights dad, claudettes father, megs mother, jake's mother, and they're probably investigating their kids disappearances (they were seen watching the tape showing maybe a documentary or something about the mines where frank maybe killed some people) so they went there to investigate as shown in the trailer.

So, detail that I kind of love here and that I'm really hoping will be notable in the game itself when it comes out, that knife we get the closeups on looks a lot like it started out as a file and then got sharpened down to being a knife. The texture on both the top and bottom of the blade as well as the part of the handle that we see are what make me figure this, plus it ties in with the jagged "teeth" on the mask seeming to be a deliberate thing that Frank Stone crafted into the mask to make himself more monstrous. Combined with that book on his work table, it might be possible that he did everything he could to make himself an attractive target for the Entity, either as a killer so that he could do more and more murders forever or, possibly, as a killer with the intention of trying to take someone back from the Entity.

Not once has a game trailer had this much emotion and terror mixed together at the same time. I almost want to feel for the man in the mask but I can’t because you know he isn’t in the right. It’s like he is mourning too.
