Bruh why does he always like to pretend he knows more music than he does 😭 Like it’s okay that he’s mainly in that hip hop/rnb lane but why make shit up
Let's just be real, lil bro doesn't know music like that to be criticizing this list. Like bro really said, "Am I trippin? I don't remember this at all" to Rumors.
yeah the problem with a list like this that panders to every demographic is that 99.999% of people can’t speak on beyond what they’ve heard multiple times unbiasedly. only count their wins
@@zander2473 yeah i prefer gkmc too but not having tpab in a top 100 list is a crime still tbh, like theres no way you have the fuckin taylor swift deluxe 1989 from last year but not a classic (arguably best album ever)
They were giving some artists 2 placements too - Beatles had Revolver and Abbey Road, Prince had Sign O The Times and Purple Rain, Beyonce had self-titled and Lemonade etc. Not that some of those aren't deserving, but to then exclude TPAB is kinda wild.
Shawn: Where's the new stuff I don't know *Doesn't know Robyn, the Cure, the Clash, or Fleetwood Mac Also Shawn upon seeing Public Enemy: Where's the new stuff I don't know??
I'm tired of people dismissing U2 just cause they put an album on their phone without their consent (which I also think was dumb), but you got to give at least The Joshua Tree a chance, an album that came out 30 years before Songs Of Innocence. It's great and doesn't reflect the current sound of U2 at all.
@tuneskl some rap songs isnt even as known as flower boy, and fb came first. Think of an alt rapper, and the face is tyler, he embraced that indie rock pop, bedroom pop wave and all that before most of his peers, be fr
World music got the shit end of the stick in this list. Apple, how are you gonna tell me that Gipsy Kings by Gipsy Kings, Gabby Pahinui With The Sons Of Hawaii by Gabby Pahinui and The Sons Of Hawaii, Back Tuva Future by Ondar, Nuevo by Kronos Quartet, Alone In Iz World by Israel Kamakawiwoʻole, Traces of You by Anoushka Shankar, Sarafina! Original Broadway Cast Recording by Mbongeni Ngema, Hugh Masekela and the Cast of Sarafina!, Black Ivory Soul by Angélique Kidjo, Congotronics by Konono Nº1, 2004, Khun Narin's Electric Phin Band by Khun Narin, Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club, Immigrés By Youssou N'Dour et le Super Étoile de Dakar, The Orphan's Lament By Huun-Huur-Tu, Raise Your Spirit Higher By Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Gal Costa by Gal Costa, MTV Unplugged by Shakira, Siembra By Willie Colón & Rubén Blades, Maine Payal Hai Chhankai by Falguni Pathak, Celia & Johnny by Celia & Johnny, Corridos prohibidos By Los Tigres del Norte, Canciones de Mi Padre by Linda Ronstadt and If I Should Fall from Grace with God by The Pogues, just to name a few, are not worthy? To hell with that!
I feel that I’m surprised no city pop made the list Timely!! By Anri is a classic ride on time, midnight cruisin, LOVE TRIP?!? I get that they didn’t sell crazy outside Japan until recently but First Love by Hikaru Utada is the best selling album out of Japan and it not being in at least the top 75 is wild. I don’t know shit about Latin America but I know they’ve been popping off with music.
Did not expect Shawn to have The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me. Wow. I feel like he just went from some guy on RU-vid to someone I could see a parasocial relationship with forming soon. But seriously, that album is on my top 5 easily.
The craziest thing is, a lot of people who act crazy at "ridiculous placement" like Taylor at 18 would probably have some wilder takes when they make their own ranking or judgments, like in Shawn's case putting a random Future album over TPAB😂
That vaudeville villain shout out was dope. That was always my favorite. I think it's the most easy to just put in whenever Doom album though. My second favorite is madvillainy. I don't really like mm food like that
Beyonce lemonade definitely deserved to be top 10 but definitely low. It was so monumental don't know why chat wasn't hip we didn't have much artists like Beyonce today that shift the landscape of music each release to the high level she does
Confessions being as low as it was really put this whole list into perspective. Was very easy to say "This album is(not) better than confessions." for a lot of the entries
it’s crazy they have recency bias is shit that doesn’t deserve it but after hours has the single greatest album rollout of all time alot with the biggest song of all time and the biggest remix of all time and they didn’t give it a spot
Man i can't help but making these lists and being like "it has to be a cohesive package" just sets these lists up for failure, most artists just aren't making concept albumns like that, the format of the albumn has changed
Kate Bush is at least a top 50 artist. Hounds of Love is one of the most definitive art pop albums. It makes sense that she and Bjork are high up on the list. They're influential female figures of the genre. Number 50 is a good placement, though it should be a little higher imo. I don't get the complaint of her being in front of Sign o' the Times. If anything, I'm more offended that Drake's mediocre album "Take Care" is higher than their albums. Hounds and Sign are both great 5-star albums that are both conceptually adventurous and influential. The Dreaming should've been on the list imo.
This is a take I've seen no one else make, so f**k it I'll be the one who makes it. The Tracy Chapman debut could have literally been in the top 10 let alone on this list. I also would have put Janelle Monáe's the ArchAndriod on here as well. I would have put ATLiens and The Score as well but that's just me lol.
He's not a fan of billie Eilish. Personally I think the album is fantastic, but unfortunately nowhere near top 30 all time. But that's how these lists are designed.
@@thecluckster3908 yeah I get that. I mean it's better than the Taylor Swift album on the list. There's definitely worse picks, BUT this is probably up there as one of the worst picks on the list.
Big issue with the list: too many hip hop albums. I love a lot of those records, but shit like Astroworld, Flower Boy, NWA, Get Rich, they don't belong on the list. There are so many great albums from underrepresented genres that you excluded to look hip.
idk why people put that michael jackson album in high regards. it is cool and has some good hits but you can't tell me you can listen to that whole album. A lot of shit on that album is mid compared to other albums on the list
@@thatguy1488Confessions has a bunch of great singles and some really good album cuts, but people don’t even listen to half of the songs on there anymore
This is why top lists always need to choose their criteria and strictly follow it. Either make a list of the top 100 most influential albums, or top 100 artistically well crafted albums. This list tried to do both, and I'd say only 50 of the albums were both. The other 50 were either influential, or artistically well crafted.
It's super solid but doesn't have as high or artistic peaks as some of the other stuff on the list. Just saying, even though I don't disagree with being number 1.
All the albums being English lol, Lowkey tired all these lists being made for Americans by some white girl who made this with her Starbucks next to her 😭😭😭
@@dffgffffffdddddddddd yes Apple Music which is supposed to be a global brand, the whole world uses the application not just Americans 😂 that’s why I’m annoyed that all these lists always only cater to Americans and ignore everybody else
