The central tension or central conflict is what sets the stage for your campaign. even if it doesn't end up being what your players' story revolves around, it informs everything else about your world.
This week we are taking what we've learned about Ashk so far and coming up with a compelling central tension for our setting.

I love how easy and straightforward you make this. I'm really interested in learning about how to add politics to my game. If it's alright I might just borrow some of your ideas until I feel comfortable enough to create my own points of central conflict for my world. Thank you very much!

Honestly a brilliant video. I'm sort of new to DMing but I think that organizing the campaign around realistic and relevant social issues is a great way to make it feel realistic. I think you're a few steps ahead of me on this but I'm gonna take your advice for future campaigns.

I wasn't sure how much I liked this series up until about 8 minutes into this video where I realised you'd set up a really multi faceted conflict between two diverse and well divided sides. Well done. I'm one hundred percent sold and I'm really looking forward to watching the rest.

I think it's really interesting watching these videos and realizing it's just my normal thought process of coming up with ideas for my campaigns.

I find my self lost when it comes to manage events outside the players lives and adventures. For example, how the war progresses or other mayor events like conspiracies, and how the player actions may affect those things.

War is a pretty easy one relative to others: If you've got a campaign map, divide it into zones. Then every month of in game time have the factions act. They might move to a new region, besiege a city, or two armies might come into contact and have a battle. Treat it like a board game or like a game of risk or diplomacy. You could even have other people take control of factions and tell you what they want to achieve that month. Don't worry so much about player action in relation to that stuff. The players can hear stories and decide whether they are going to get involved or not.

@@IcarusGames thx for that quick response man. I just discover your Chanel few days ago and I can't stop watching and writing a new campaign. I'm pretty noob at this but am really excited.

There’s me, trying to watch your videos, and one of my cats comes along, plonks himself down in front of my iPad, and starts cleaning his toes. 😹😹😹 still, I’m loving your videos, I’ve had ideas about a campaign for dragon riders knocking around my head for weeks (that I haven’t been writing down, whoops) and your videos have definitely helped further it! For example, the dragons in my campaign can be wild, but it’s not very common, and the gods are dragon-based because of how central dragons are to daily life. Those same dragons change depending on how you use them, so most noble women would have a dainty little tea cup dragon, while a peasant woman would have a dragon that can help her do the chores around the house and look after the children. How do you get your dragon? Well, when you’re a child (I’m thinking between the ages of 5-10) there’s a ceremony held in the main temple of your town, in front of the entire pantheon of the Gods. There, a dragon will hatch and bond with you mentally, and they will be your common for life. As you grow, so does your dragon. =^.^= you don’t need to swear to one particular god at that time, but it will help your dragon's development later on if you do.

Can you tell me how you created the ancient look of the paper on the Koros PDF?

I googled parchment stock image and looked for something that looked about right, then reduced the opacity so the staining wasn't so strong.
