In my 15+ years as a college admissions consultant, I've seen countless parents struggle to understand their role in the process.
They are grappling with big questions: Am I doing too much or too little? Am I missing something important? How can I manage my own stress without transferring it to my teen?
Learning to help your teen take charge of their educational journey is not just about stepping back-it’s about stepping forward into a new role and relationship.
And it’s a tremendous opportunity for growth for everyone involved.
Join me, President & COO of Signet Education, and my dear friend and colleague Holly Schreiber of Watershed Parent Coaching to discuss how you can reduce stress in the college process - your kid's AND your own!
We will record this session, so please RSVP even if you can't attend live.
About Holly
Holly Schreiber has been an educator for over 20 years. While in college and graduate school, Holly served as an academic mentor and writing coach. After earning her PhD in Comparative Literature, she served as a professor at University of Maine for several years. She found herself increasingly drawn to advising students - serving as undergraduate coordinator for the Department of Communication and Journalism - before moving on to offer personalized one-on-one tutoring, coaching, and consulting at Signet Education. There she specializes in coaching-based admissions counseling for undergraduate and graduate applications.
Eventually she realized that her most satisfying, rewarding, and inspiring work was helping other people discover themselves: to find their major, find their writing voice, and find their confidence. By focusing on their strengths and bringing her knowledge of academia, Holly found joy in helping others find their path.
As Holly embarked on her own parenting journey, she was drawn to the challenges and triumphs of the parents of the students she was coaching. She found herself inspired by the care, complexity, and frustration inherent in parenthood. She deepened her coaching training to focus on parent coaching, which was both a revelation and a confirmation of the work she was already doing. Building trusting relationships founded on mutual respect and strength-building really works!

It’s hard to relinquish control over a $250,000 decision… my first house cost half of that. The price tag is mind boggling
