Even stock sounds good! One thing i learned is that you don't need to invest hundreds of dollars if you are new to building your first mechanical keyboards. I used the same boards and switch, added some pe foam and polyfill, got some spacebar dampners and mine is thocky heaven! I'm so happy with my keyboard! The GMK 67 is such an amazing budget-friendly board for new keyboard enthusiast , i hope ur video inspires new peeps to build their very first board too :)
Im gonnna be using the gmk67 zouya with ktt kang whites, Im going to try putting it together myself, even though I have a days worth of knowledge on keyboards and I use a hp 100% membrane keyboard so any tips could help ( even though I have a hot swappable gmk67, I dont know how to put switches on it, im guessing that you just put it on, any tips?)
stabilizers kinda sound muchy, try using a less thick type of bandage, and try not to over lube the satbilziers or else they'll feel muchy and sticky but great build overall ;)
bro I have been trying to do a build like this but couldn't since the frame alone costed more than 45 bucks so thank you. Also clean build bro keep it up.
Hi! Just a quick question, are you supposed to tear down that plastic? This is the only video of the newer versions of the keyboard I've seen do this and I have the exact same newer version. Would love your help! Amazing video!!
I actually realized since making this video that it's actually meant to be there. That being said, I understand that it's an acoustic option so it's no problem to remove it. I have another GMK67 on the way so I'm going to keep it on this one!
@@sc.studio Hi! I know this is a late reply, but I am in the same boat, and I do not know what to do with the plastic. Should I just punch the switches (not too hard because I don't want to mess up the pins obviously) through the plastic, or should I make a hole in the plastic with maybe tweezers? What if loose plastic is just hanging in that center hole- is that an issue? So many questions, SORRY!
@@LeeSCMi bought a gmk67 recently and I just punched the switch straight through the plastic there were no problems, the switch worked completely fine and nothing was bent even after taking the switch out
@@s1xty13 Hi! I wanted to come back to this and thank you again for the reassurance! I finally did my build, and the switches were a little annoying for me to do, but punching through the plastic worked fine! I will say, when I finished the build (used akko cream blues), my 'n' and 'v' keys weren't working, and when I pulled them out, both had bent pins. It looks like they didn't go fully through the plastic (and I'm not blaming anyone else but myself here, it's only my fourth build), but I put two new switches in and the board works perfectly now, and sounds great! Thank you for helping, and hopefully if anyone else gets worried this will reassure them (even though I'm sure I'm one of the very few who did worry)!
I had it too. Latest gmk67 has been added little plastic sheet on the pcb which helps make sounds little be more deep and tht is also why its hard to in/out the switches first time. I recommend not to remove plastic sheet on the pcb if you have one
I got my order sent today and I founded this video reeeeeeeeeeally helpfull, I needed a video to see what would be the final product after completing it. AND HERE YOU ARE! Thank you so much!
I think it's a PET film used to protect the pcb, you can take it out and put it on top of the pcb(?) so that the keyboard will have a more marbly/soft sound signature. This may not be intentional because it isnt mentioned in the site
If you're standoffish about aliexpress but you're curious, one thing to look out for is orders. Next to the item you wanna buy it shows how many of that item the seller has sold. If the reviews are good and they've sold 1000s, that's probably a safe seller. Now, if the price looks too good to be true and the seller has only sold 1-3 items...that's a no-go for me.
same, I modded mine the same but I use durock screw-in stabilisers (very good but not so perfect), didn't poke the tape(2-layer tape mod), my switches are Akko CS Snow Blue Grey Linears and GMK Olivia keycaps.
Your video encouraged me to enter the world of mechanical keyboards, at the beginning I had the same switches and the same keyboard the gmk67. It has been 5 months since I saw your video and I have gone from the KKT white to have several different switches, to currently the Jwick Vertex V1. Best regards. 😁
