Lorianne Crook & Charlie Chase sit down with The Chordettes, Lynn, Doris, Nancy, & Jean they talk about performing in Branson & in the old days performing for President Eisenhower & more live on Music City Tonight with Crook & Chase.
Lynn is the only original member here, though Nancy was performing live with them since around 1957, and can be seen in their Lollipop performance on Ed Sullivan, replacing Janet.
Well not exactly a founding member. Lynn joined the Chordettes in 1952 and was there for all of their Cadence hits but the singing group started in 1946 with four members NOT seen here.
Yes, Lynn Evans on the far left is the only one who sang on all the Chordettes hits. Nancy Overton (2nd from the right) joined the Chordettes in 1958, replacing original member Janet Ertel, who did not want to tour anymore. Next to Lynn is Doris Alberti, who was never a member of the Chordettes, she was just asked to join this line up, as was Jean Swain on the far right, who also was never a member of the Chordettes. Jean and Nancy are sisters and in 1946 they both formed a female quartet called the Heathertones.
