Narnia is one of the only movies with kid characters that actually casted actors with the right age and for that it already deserves so much more

I still can't believe this movie was 15 yrs old and the battle scenes and cgi looks more impressive than Mulan 2020 and the lion king.

The scene where Aslan sacrifices himself is soooo much sadder in the book. I remember Aslan almost collapsing on his way there and the girls walked on either side of him as he went. The girls show concern when he tumbles and he replies “I am sad and lonely. Lay your hands on my mane so that I can feel you are there and let us walk like that.” Asking for that small comfort as he willingly goes to meet his death 😭 I cried so hard reading it

2005 Narnia has us believing Aslan was so real yet 2019 Cats and lion King can’t even take us away like that. Make it make sense 🤨

I rewatched this movie bc I was inspired by Trin and only on my rewatch did I realize the reason the giant hawks brought in rocks was probably because Peter was inspired by WWII air strikes. like it’s sooo cool how they wove in that small detail from Peter’s past

The CGI in this movie was actually really good and especially on Aslan, the fauns, the centaurs, the battles scenes, and other animals was super impressive, especially for how old the movies are.

I love how Narnia felt real. If this were made today, the CG would be way too plastic.

It hurts my heart to realise they lived a whole life in while they were in Narnia and then when they come back through the closet at the end they’re back as children. The thought that from there on they’re adults having to live through our (old) world as kids again being belittled after they have fought in wars and had duties as kings and queens for years stresses me out

i watch this movie at least once a month because of the energy it has. the director said he didn’t try to make a completely accurate adaptation, but he wanted to make a movie that made him feel how he felt when he first read the book. i think he nailed it

I remember growing up watching these films, seeing this little girl find this magical place in this house just gave me so much serotonin as a child. I aspired to be that little girl, to BE that little kid that found something magical.

Edmund is pretty stinky in this movie, but in all of the other ones he’s the best and most competent character

First: solid props for calling herself out on things like "they're not orphans" and "1940s kids love that Turkish delight." Fully appreciate. Second: The reason she jumps more at the jumps scares in this film is because they are in the middle of a character introspection both times. One, we are marveling at how dumb/jerky Edmund is, then Bam! Then we are being happy for the sisterly love of Susan and Lucy. There is no lead up. There is no suspense. There is no change in music. They suck you in with great character love, then hit you out of no where, unlike most horror films that train you to expect it at certain points. Third: You wanna live in that aesthetic? I have THE BEST news for you. There is a whole community of people who also love this stuff. Time to either visit a Renn Faire, or even better, join a LARP. Just one time, to test the waters. See how you feel at the end f the weekend. :)

The narnia movies are some of the best movies ever. I want you guys to know that whenever i see a big old timey like fight scene. Especially in superhero movies. I always think. Without fail. "FOR ASLAN!!" and I am proud of that.

Fun fact: That teacher they were with, Digory, he was there as a child when Narnia was created, and he got an apple in a garden to heal his sick mother and from the seeds of that apple grew a tree, which was then made into the wardrobe that got the to Narnia. That's why he was so surprised to discover Lucy said she found a hidden world in the closet. Him and Penny, a childhood friend, were also responsible for setting the Witch free, she used to be a statue in Charm (the place they go to in the third movie with the green mist thing)
