This walk is from London's Hidden Walks by Stephan Millar. You can get his book here: amzn.to/2VszJBh
It is about 5.5 miles and takes around three hours. It is probably best to start at Blackfriars, but it's a circular walk so you can do it from anywhere. It takes in the Thames, St Pauls, the Old Bailey, Pye Corner, St Bartholomews, Little Britain, the Barbican and more. A fascinating tour of the older parts of London.
The pencils I talk about are here:
Pentel 200 Range: amzn.to/3rSPgpI
Caran D'Ache 844 Pencil: amzn.to/3CslrBt
Caran D'Ache 849 Pen: amzn.to/3ChQhwe

My life isn’t conplete until a bald man has walked me round London and insisted that i ‘stay cool’. Well done for making London interesting again, Marek! 😂👍

I think most of the credit should go to Stephen Millar who wrote the book, although he did have me looking for a non existent Roman Temple of Mithras for about half an hour.

It never surprises me that there are so many hidden gems around London. All the back passages ( ooh err misses ) that most people miss. The history is amazing and just waiting to be discovered. Thank you for showing us a little tour and without all the usual crowds of tourists and pesky foreign students!! 👍

I've been reading about the Great Fire of London since I did the walk, as it had quite a big impact on me. They say 70,000 of the 80,000 dwellings in London were destroyed. Unimaginable really.

My best pen is Papermate Flair Medium in black; nice and inky, no messing about, it feels nice to write with and it makes a good sound. My favourite pencil is a Palomino Blackwing, yes you need to sharpen them, but I welcome that little bit of craft. I don't write so much that these interludes are unmanageable. Thank you for another smashing video Marek.

Marek, you really have to use your imagination when visiting the temple of Mithras, although the artefacts on the wall before you go in are good. Have you been to the Roman Amphitheatre below the Guildhall Art Gallery? That is better (slightly less imagination required) but doesn't have the snazzy artefacts. Great video! My fave pens are the plain steel Lamy ones and the Cross fat ones.

This is a very cool video indeed despite the soaring temperatures at the time. I walked around the city with my eldest about a decade ago one weekend and the place was deserted, with all the shops and pubs closed. Eldest needed a wee (he was only 10 at the time) so he went against fence around the Cheesegrater building that was under construction back then. A statement on modern architecture I wonder…? Anyway my current fave pen is the Muji gel pen but I owned Pentel pencil at school (boffin!) and bought another recently but can’t find it :-( I also endorse the Thames River Bus as it’s a brilliant but rapid way to see a wide area of London. Looking forward to seeing more of these videos sometime

Thanks cool dude. I've done a few walks around Blackfriars and the Thames path. That bit of London is probably my favourite. I went there at the weekend for a walk too and it was deserted. When I worked nights with my friend back in 2001/2 it was as if we had the City totally to ourselves. Magical.

Friction or frixion pens are my new favourite. I been using them excessively lately for writing/marking up fabrics. And magically when you iron the pen marks disappear completely. Although when looking up the name to tell you just now I’ve just realised chillingly… that if iced/chilled the pen marks may come back. I need to test this immediately. There may or may not be a bride out there with a rude word or two written in her seams. I can’t confirm this.
