Excellent walk! My favourite children's character was 'Mr Noseybonk' from Jigsaw. He was a constant, reassuring presence in my life throughout the 1970s and 80s, and it's purely coincidental that I've spent my time since then incarcerated in a high security psychiatric hospital.

Top Cat, who was always looking to get out of his city alley for a better place to live, and Underdog superhero, and Mighty Mouse. My mom was afraid of lighting strikes to an outdoor antenna so cartoons were on an old B&W Philco TV that only picked up one channel in rural Pennsylvania (NBC affiliate) with the "bunny ears" and sometimes aluminum foil over those. I don't remember when I discovered Ardman but my then young and teenage children really enjoyed and still do. I adore your channel recommended by Mr. Jim Moon. Excellent video and an excellent cause too - I’m in London on Friday so I’ll try to find some Morphs if they’re still around. When I was about 7-8 years old a school mate and I used to pretend that we each had an invisible Morph and Chas and play out imaginary scenes with them, we once got told off in assembly by the head for mucking around - all the fault of Morph and Chas of course. But I equally loved all the Smallfilms shows (Ivor the Engine, Bagpuss, The Clangers), Looney Toons and Hanna Barbera cartoons and Bob Godfrey’s Roobarb and Noah & Nelly. And how could I almost forget the wonderful Trumptonshire Trilogy of Chigley, Trumpton and Camberwick Green which I still have somewhere on an old DVD and which my (now grown up) boys loved too.

I and some friend did the Morph trail on 17th July and enjoyed it so much, that we returned on 10th August and collected some more Morph's via the app. I think we got about 56 in total. The walk was unusual in so far that it took you to several locations in London, such as the financial district, that are off the traditional tourist track. There was a similar charity based walk at Petworth in West Sussex (National Trust), which was based around Elmer the Elephant. So it's worth keep an eye out for these sorts of things, as they're always different, engaging and obviously for good causes.

Aww I would have loved to have had a go at that Morph one. 😊 My fave character from a children's programme was pollutto from The smoggies. He was a div but so sweet and he had a pet bird that followed him around I seem to recall. My fave mini Marek picture at the end was the Slitting mill one. We're going there this weekend! Fun! They've recently announced another Gromit Unleashed trail in Bristol (in 2025, I think) - I enjoyed the previous ones (both with and/or without my niece and nephew!) a lot. As you say, they often take you to places you wouldn't otherwise go, so it's a nice way to see the city. As for childhood cartoon favourites - other than Wallace & Gromit, maybe SuperTed or Danger Mouse? Or the Family Ness? Very hard to pick just one! Oh, and a fun fact to end - I was recently reminded (by an information board while out on a walk, no less) that Plasticine was invented in Bath!I suppose it's quite fitting then that Aardman is based in nearby Bristol

We seem to have a trail like that every year in Bristol. It started off as Gromits because of the Wallace and Gromit Appeal that supports Bristol Children's Hospital, and we've had some other Aardman characters like Shaun the Sheep and Feathers McGraw, as well as some gorillas which supported Bristol Zoo I think and most recently unicorns which I assume are supporting something related. I think to start with they got auctioned off at the end for charity and lots were bought by businesses so you'll often be driving past some trading estate and see a painted gorilla on the top of a building. I think now they invite businesses to sponsor them instead. I used to like the Raggy Dolls because even though they didn't come out right from the production line and got chucked into a big skip marked 'rejects', they nonetheless managed to have some fun adventures and were friends with each other. I found them highly relatable. I'm not sure the message has aged well but at the time it represented quite advanced thinking.

So many humans eek. Marek… As an English person do you know why Joe Jonas is divorcing Sophie Turner. Is it something to do with pigeons or Cornish pasties?

Ummm. I don't even know who those people are.

@@cdwc me feels you invest too much time worrying about pigeons and it takes away from knowing about narcissistic personalities in the arts.

Brilliant walk for a great cause. Nearly as many people as pidgins . Just been to stripy art and the IOW Ghost emporium. Told them who recommended them to us and Kate at the IOW GE. Is looking forward to seeing you. Have you tried the POO museum on the island yet. Just going to put a bid on.

They sell my PooMan cards at the Poo Museum. Instantly making it the greatest place in the world. Hope you are enjoying your holiday.
