If you want one, wait to buy one. SIG is just getting the all new assembly line up and running and they need to dial in the QA/QC. Considering the historic issues that SIG has with QA/QC on first generation batch rifles and pistols it is better to wait a year or two to buy one that won’t have hidden issues and future recalls.

Ffl's are already jacking the price up $1000+ $3500 is pushing it but $4200-$5500 is insane especially since most people aren't going to be shooting 6.8x51mm. Gun prices are getting far beyond outrageous😳 this rifle should be no more than $3000 on a good for the dealer! And it should come with 3 mags and iron sights.

@@thetest8777 I would agree with this. Premium AR-15s should be in the 1500 range. Anything chambered in a full size cartridge shouldn't exceed 2.5k and 3k is ok for something that is a premium offering. Some of these rifles just come straight out of the gate obnoxiously overpriced. This is definitely one of them since it is intended to be a infantry rifleman replacement.

Guns with adjustable gas designed for military applications, except the FAL, tend to have few settings because they're not designed to let the shooter play around but use specific, tested reliable settings for specific contexts with known loads: regular, suppressed, adverse. When running only 2 its typically standard and suppressed, because this firearm was designed with suppressed fire from the ground up. This contract was way overblown. The 'military' isn't making the switch to the M7 from the M4A1. Also you will likely never have access to the hybrid cased round ( you know the one that actually achieves all the military's metrics) and you will also be buying yourself into SIG USA brand for all suppressors and certain accessories and parts. Ultimately you are buying what has become a niche military product and you will be buying it gimped (no high pressure hybrid ammo). This will be used for heavy assault and maybe some DMR doctrinally so aside from collecting what does this do that any good AR10 doesn't already do? The civilian brass ammo will be running at pressures closer to 308? Can the rifles sold to civilians handle the military high pressure ammo or are they just made for the civilian version of ammo? Will we be able to get the high pressure ammo? If not, it's just a over priced semi auto selling a new round with little to no noticeable real world advantages to the rounds it's replacing.

$4200 definitely lost me. I am not a fan. I prefer the M4. A top quality AR15 with options is cheaper and just as good. Why is it so much? Maybe because the military is paying for it and don't mine doing so. I prefer going with civilian equivalents such as the Jakl or AR10 with side charging upper, and may consider this when the price price comes down, if it ever does. I am not sure why its costs that much, coming from the M4, the morph into the spear is easy to see. There is not even an optic or adjustable iron sights. Like a luxury car without floor mats. I think civilians should have the same as the military's and I think the price is being used to prohibit this. So, either you're paying way too much for something that shoots .308....or you're paying way too much for something that shoots a bespoke new military cartridge which will be eye-wateringly expensive as well. There is no way the performance of the gun will justify it's 400-500% price tag increase over other typical .308 guns. This means you'll have two types of people buying them; collectors, and people who are just trying to show off (the same people who buy $8,000 handguns). Hell no. And they already had the .277 version out for sale with an initial $8k price. They can stick it. I'm also assuming it's an automatic NFA SBR with the 13" barrel, in which they can also stick it. Then there's the price of the .277 ammo...you guessed it, stick it. Plenty of other quality, less expensive .308 and 6.5 creed options out there without paying for the Sig name.
@joshklaver47
@joshklaver47 Год назад
Of course the .277 Fury/6.8x51mm ammo will be expensive, but it also offers far greater capabilities. There are also .308 calibre conversion kits. I don't see why you would care about a $200 tax stamp on a $4,000 rifle.

The MCX was going for $1399 circa 2017. Now they are $3-5k🤣. Inflation seems to have hit Sig USA a lot harder than everyone else. It's all Army contract hysteria. Sig USA quality has always been a far cry from the German made guns. I doubt this thing will live up to the hype, but who knows.

It's not about inflation...it's about SIg now having major contracts for almost every small arm in the U.S. military. Simply put they don't "need" civilian sales at all. That's just icing on their cake and all their products will be priced accordingly.

Sig didn’t choose that caliber, the DoD did, in part to dry up surplus 5.56 ammo that is usually picked up by civilians. Eventually there will be a shortage of 5.56/.223 and without military surplus being available you can expect a huge price increase shortly.
