Karen & Twinkie look most like sisters than any other combination. Actually, its DENISE who is higher in vocals than Karen....she sang first soprano in the group. I keep saying, this was AFTER Denise had left the group. Plus, you can listen to the original...."Endow Me" has always been KAREN'S lead.
I have been singing this song since I was a little girl. Thankful for my parents for playing the Clark sisters and the winans in our home. SING KAREN!!!
I agree... I love the clark sisters.. they were great back then but now they are all beast.. Karen 1st , then dorrinda, then twinkie and then jackie...they are all are so very amazing in their own ways... and i love karen's daughter kiki too she is a beast too when it comes to music.. they are a blessing to us all send from the lord above.. god is so amazing..
"Twinkie: Live In Charlotte" video. I don't know if you've heard it before or not, but that version is nothing like this. They don't have the verses & it's Twinkie singing lead with the rest on background. I still love that one too.

Yes, they did new stuff for the first half & old stuff on the 2nd half. Classic stuff that includes Endow Me, Jesus Is A Love Song, Name It Claim It, Redeemer Liveth, Angels, Pray 4 The Usa, Center Thy Will, I Tried Him & I Know Him, Vain, Sunshine, For The Love of the Ppl,& more.

PEOPLE, IT'S KAREN!!! Denise sounds NOTHING like that & "Endow Me" has always been KAREN'S lead. She sings on the original album version & everytime they've ever sang this song, minus the 02 remake. This footage is OVER 20 yrs old, you can't expect everything to be the same....all of them have had changes in every area. Other than Neicy gettin involved in a seperate ministry, nobody knows what happened between them...just a bunch of rumors.
As far as the old stuff, they did a tribute to their mother singing a few of her old songs...Salvation is Free, Wonderful Wonderful, & another one. Um, they did Miracle. Jacky sang "God Understands All" as a part of her solo set and Dorinda did "I Won't Let Go" for her second song. Anyone know of anything else, they can add on.
this is definately footage from "Saturday Night Sing" (like an old school bobby jones show) when the sisters did a 2 part concert... the best songs in my opinion was the original "Jesus is a Love Song" and "Balm in Gilead" much better than the Finally Karen Remakes! i actually called the station yeas ago to get these tapes and they said NO in Jesus name :( do you have anything else from this show??
Faith's voice does have some similar qualities to Karen as far as the texture of her voice goes. When they did "Nothing" on "Finally Karen", I had a hard time telling who was who.
My God everytime I hear Karen I shout! Next time imma put my dancing shoes on..I wish I had her gift..A sister can sing and harmonize but not even close to this..Thank You Lord for this!
YEH I think thats about right. All of them hav pretty high voices, but Coko is the "true" soprano of the alot. Faith and Mo are mezzos...Tasia in an alto with a high voice. But they all have great lower reigisers too so i hope they exhibit some that and don't run/holla all over each other.
Actually prosperity06, Karen got a couple of things on Dorinda.....like clarity, range, & power just for starters. I love Dorinda too but even she ADMITS she can't compare...not even when it comes to her sister Twinkie either. So, that right there ends any argument. Please keep your negative inflammatory comments away from my videos, next time you'll find them all deleted.
She did hold that bottom down on this. Twinkie was singing soprano, and Dorinda held down the alto. However most of the time when they sing Twinkie holds down the bottom, of course Karen sings soprano, and Jackie sings strait alto while Dorinda sings around the alto(meaning she sings alto but with riffs and runs in there}.
This is definitely after Denise was no longer in the group. Denise does have a higher voice than Karen, but in the harmonies they both share soprano. Whenever Karen led, Denise sang high...after Denise left, it was mostly Twinkie singing high when Karen led...correct me if I am wrong, but I think Denise was out of the group right after the Is My Living In Vain album? This song was, though, originally on the You Brought the Sunshine album (pre-vain), which probably starts the confusion...
This version ministers to those who are saved as well as those who are not. The BET Celebration version was a mess compared to this one. You can actually hear the lyrics in this one. and they are not all screaming.
People sleep on Jacky, but she holds dat bottom DOWN! How does everyone think the four of them will be voices? I think Coko's gonna be Sop1, Lil' Mo Sop 2, Faith Alto and Fantasia Tenor and they'll all get a lil' taste of the lead.
Who is Denise and who is Jakie? I had no idea there was more of them. I know that aint Karen cause even though she has that Clark Sisters sound, she sings a lil defferently than Karen. Plus she don' look like Karen.
I like the FK remakes better than their originals. I guess because they were recorded live while the originals are studio recorded & dated with cheesy production.
I understand you as well. However, that song was written with Karens voice in mind. Just like "You Brought the Sunshine" could only be led by Twinkie, and "Determination" can only be led by Dorinda. There's actually a clip of them singing "You brought The Sunshine" on here, and Karen didn't lead it nearly as good as Twinkie would have. And of course none of them could play like Twinkie. But singing is another thing. They all have that. Mattie gave it to them.
1:06-1:12; amazing! Karen sounds a lot like Faith Evans on this song, except Faith doesn't have the vocal gymnastics like Miss Karen. She truly has a God-given talent!
i didnt say that the original studio recordings were better than Karen's remakes.... im talkin about the live performances of those specific songs on the TV program where this video came from... thats about as live as it gets!!
Oh have mercy. . . This along with many others of the Clark's bank are pieces that cannot be touched. It hurts my heart to know that Coko and Bobo are redoing thier music. They can't even sing thier own music, they have destory someone else's. I'd like to remember it like it was. No shade.
Wasn't Karen pregnant with KiKi at the time? Ya'll, I don't c how Karen's style could've changed that much in just a few years. That "Well!" don' sound like Karen at all, and neither does that falsetto. Wonder what happened 2 Denise cause i neva c her wit her sisters. Did they have a fallin out?
LOL, I really don't like how you said all of that. You said it as if karen is the only singer, Dorinda is the only preacher, and etc. Well I'm here to tell you that they can all do it all. There were times when Dorinda would repeat after Karen on some things and outdo her. Then there are times when Karen just outshines all. Twinkie (the one who gave them the innovative ability) even has had moments where she killed hard. They are all multi-talented ministers!!!!
Oh course Karen's vocal are out of this worl but did you hear that organ........Dynamic Musicianship...when the accompaniment is that fliud and exilerating you can't help but to sing at full capasity
