Originally aired 50 years ago today, on Monday April 15, 1974. Four days before the conclusion of season 3, Easter Monday (the day after Easter Sunday that year) AND the day after my fifth birthday. :) Now I’m 55 of course; so good to see it again the day after my 55th birthday, ha ha. :) Always liked that circus like music during the clowns segments, like the “clown with an IP on his chest” segment here. Also, the “fear” segment with Jim and Luis, ending with Paul the gorilla showing up selling peanuts-clever, considering diphthong “ea” is being taught at the moment(the way the ea in peanuts is highlighted.)
I don’t know if that’s convenient, but anybody else notice how both of the “snip” sketches are narrated by Morgan. Ya’know with the clowns and the ribbon?
Following the self-destruct word clip was a live action Slow Reader clip with Skip ("Don't "sneeze on the cheese".) On Archive, you can find it on the Noggin airing. The "Silent E" song actually was there to replace the live action Slow Reader clip on the DVD release.
My TEC OCD kicks in: I remember reading that the show had gone over budget in season 3 so in the last two weeks of the season, there were no new segments included. They simply repackaged shows made from old segments from seasons 1-3.
