Mr. Tallstrom is, without a doubt, one of the best guitar players in the world today. His cut of 'Foggy Mountain Breakdown' is one of the most insane works of fingerstyle guitar I've ever seen. This is a top 0.0001% talent here, folks.

I saw Jerry play this once about 20 years ago, and there is a RU-vid video of Jerry playing it about a couple years before he died... and I guarantee this is BETTER than Jerry's -- AND it was Jerry's trademark song!!! Beyond impressive, this is freakin' awesome! I keep tellin' my students to look out for and listen to country guitarists and not just rock guitarists, if they want to burn. I love rock guitar as well and grew up on great rock, but later branched out into other styles including country guitar. I love messing around with country guitar ideas and fusing them with blues or what I like to call, countryfriedblues. Especially open string ideas. There are some seriously good country guitar burners out there and you Sir are one of them. Peace.

Is this guy good or what? I ran across Martin by accident, went to his web site and I have been a fan ever since. Bought and downloaded one his Acoustics CD and just love it. Martin if you are reading this, you are right up there with the best like Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, Tommy Emmanuel, Jerry Reed, Glen Campbell, and the list gone on. Hello, thank you for all the fine comments! Well, I used to play only electric, but I haven´t touched one in maybe ten years... Who knows though, I might just pick it up again. Got a Fender B-bender Tele hanging on the wall just waiting for a little attention ;)
Thanks, but the sad part is I couldn´t play that right now, maybe tomorrow, but not now :( Meaning, I have to keep playing the songs in order to have them "in my hands" - but it´s hard to find time to do that...
Hi Steve, thanx for the nice comment. Somehow the staccato style seemed to fit the song, especially since I settled for a higher tempo than on Jerry´s version.
