Rhyme with me: The pink tile had it’s run now it’s time for some fun. So many options to pick, will herringbone do the trick? Though the bathroom is new, I hope the old vanity will do! And if you like my flow leave a comment below 👇🏾 😂

Designer here. Couple of things: 1) Go with the new vanity. The storage space in the new vanity is better (deep drawers are impractical in a bathroom for anything besides hair tools). The symmetry and balance it creates is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye, and with the sink centered in the middle, it will make it easier to center the mirror and overhead light fixture above. 2) I can’t tell if the tub/shower alcove has cement board or regular drywall, but you’ll need your contractor (or your husband) to waterproof it before installing your tile (you can watch videos on “waterproof membrane” on RU-vid). 3) In the tub/shower surround, I love the idea of the herringbone pattern (you could also do this on the wall behind the vanity and toilet to elevate the look of the bathroom). For the floor tiles, I’d recommend a brick pattern with a 33% offset. I’d also recommend using unsanded grout and a thinner grout line to really make it look high-end (at least on the tub/shower surround). You’ll want to speak with your contractor about how he plans to finish the edges of the tile that don’t butt up into a perpendicular wall. You may want to get a metal trim in your brass finish to tie it all together (I’d carry it all around the perimeter just to make it look cohesive and balanced). 4) Check your faucet handles as the one on the right looked like it was missing a prong (it appeared to have three instead of four). 5) Before you install your tub, I recommend matching your feet to your faucet with spray paint (and rub & buff if necessary). It won’t look right as it is with the two different brass finishes, and I’m afraid you’ll want to change it after you see it altogether (and it will be a much bigger project then). I’d look for another toilet handle in the proper finish as that will bug you too (although it’s much easier to change out).

I like the new vanity. I feel like the darker grain helps tie in the gray tile and allow everything to flow together.

Definitely the new vanity is a go. Once installed the cabinet color will complement your wall color, tile and decor. Trust.💕

Hmm I vote new vanity! You’re going to dream of those soft close drawers and cabinets if you go with the old one 😂 (even though I think you did a FAB job restoring it. Definitely sell it on FB marketplace or something!)

👏👏👏 1) You should install the new vanity. Go new with everything in your new bathroom! 2) Herring Bone pattern on both the floor and the walls. 3) It might look better with brass legs on the tub. But maybe the shiny look will add a nice contrast. Everything's coming together really well. I think it's going to be very pretty. Great job as usual 👏!!

Kayla, I think you should go with a simple floor or a simple shower wall. One or the other. Also, sis, please keep the spa vibes going and go with the new vanity. I know that you said it wasn't the color you were hoping for but I really like the new one. Great job on picking out the faucets. You and Marcus make an awesome team.

Everything's looking great 👍. Did you notice 1 of the turn handles for the tub is missing a spoke (1 has 4 and the other has 3). So you can contact them before install day 👍

Maybe the could spray paint the tub legs and fixtures for the bass color. I would change the legs on the vanity to brass legs on the new one. I love the process. I can’t wait until it’s finished!!❤️❤️

And, the countertop, handles and fixtures are already in your possession, so less to have to get as well. I love the red hair. If you get the white hexagon floor just know that white grout on a floor gets super dirty. Even epoxy grout doesn't last too well on a floor. I'd do a super light grey if you dont want alot of contrast.

My vote… Herringbone pattern on the wall and traditional pattern for the gray floor tile. Someone mentioned penny tile on the floor, I think that would also be a good look as well. I still like the old vanity however I think the new vanity goes better with your vision. I would maybe keep shopping for the toilet lever. The claws on the tub are a bit shiny. I am interested to see how they will look after they are installed.

I’d go with the new one. When we remodeled our bathroom in 2020 we kept the old vanity and just had new doors and countertops added. The problem we find is that the old vanity very short. So keep that in mind.

Hi Kayla, I like the new vanity and the gold accent trim! It will also look nice with your brush gold fixtures. I also think the herringbone floor would be 🔥. It’s a wider tile than what’s on the wall for the shower and you won’t always see the shower wall. I don’t think they will fight each other. Can’t wait to see the reveal.

Go with the vanity you bought first. It’s definitely a lot more contemporary looking. Once everything is completed, it will look great! Also if you want it a little lighter, you could try a very light sanding, then a top coat it a satin poly.

I like the new vanity better. Question, though. On the faucet was one of the knobs missing one of the 4 spikes? It looked as if one had 4 and the other had 3. It definitely could have been the light in my house; I just wanted to double check.

I vote herringbone on the shower wall and the simple floor pattern. Btw I love the tiles you have chosen. I feel I'd have to see the vanities in the space before making a decision.

OMG this is getting so exciting. It's coming together so nicely and I cannot wait to see the end result. Either vanity will work but if you go with the old, I just think new handles will make it really pop! The sink for the old one is a bit small tho so that may help you to decide.

❤ I love the old, DIY vanity! That wood grain is so pretty. The original hardware would probably blend nicely once you have a countertop. Perhaps, a little more of that polish/color your mom suggested would work. If not, some brass hardware that flow with your new pieces will pop.

For the flooring stay simple. The rug will cover most of the pattern and take away from the beautiful herringbone pattern on the wall.
