Actually he learned to take “never too old to learn a new trick” to a whole new level. Before he faced his dark side, he brushed off the Force Priestess’s teachings as something he already knew and mastered. Once he faced his dark side did he learn of his hubris and how even a master can still learn.
@Daniel Athens I’m saying he didn’t take anything to a whole new level in this scene because his hubris made him unwilling to fully embrace their teachings. Essentially he believed he was too old and too skilled to learn a new trick. After he faces his dark side, does he learn that he can still learn new things despite his age and mastery and goes on to “taking things to a whole new level” from then on.
R2 is the coolest character ever. This droid took part in most of the major events in the saga, the Clone Wars. He is at the fucking source of life. R2 is love, R2 is life!
@@israel4521 R2D2's memories were never deleted, he's the one telling the _Star Wars_ story at the beginning of each episode. Originally, George Lucas intended to name the franchise _"Tales of the Whills - Star Wars",_ these are narrating the story that R2D2 hundreds of years into the future gave to them (the intros of all the Star Wars movies are precisely the titles of these "books"). The source of all this info are the behind the scenes documents and scripts for making _ANH_ and comics talking about these force beings, the "Whills"...
There’s a book series called Fate of the Jedi where in a nine books series expand upon the Mortis arc, and reveal the true nature of the Maw and Another that used to live among the three on that planet. Sadly it’s not canon anymore but it’s worth the read if you like the Mortis arc and can catch up to 35 years ABY
@@koichidignitythief7429 There's nothing wrong with midichlorians. The very fact that the force runs strong in the Skywalker family (yes mentioned all the way back in return of the jedi) implies that. Not everybody is cut out to become or meant to be that special.
I like how r2 has seen things most living creatures could never even comprehend and has more knowledge than most archives. yet you always just find out he was left in a basement for years when people don't need him, like if only they knew...
i love this scene show much. notice how the 'cousins' are kinda like muses to different parts of the force: one is angry and accusatory, one is relatively joyous, one seems fearful and uncertain, and the main one seems nuetral. i think they're supposed to be representative of the force and different aspects of emotion that drive the people who use it.
yeah but the confusing part is we saw the duaghter, the father and the son who were the representation of the force. The sisters are even more complex since we have zero understanding on what they are. All we onow is they are powerful force users.
I think the son , father and daughter represents selfishness , selflessness and the balance between the two states of mind . While the priestesses represents the very emotions that are driving living being in the force . They are different aspects of how the force works .
@@PonderingThought-ke6qb they’re* and that’s just your opinion, one that I can probably guess is based on a lot of ignorance and nit-picking as is of most people who hate on the sequels
Remember when Lucas mentioned that his sequel trilogy plans would have involved going into a "microbiotic world" and delve deeper into the Force? Turns out TCW and Rebels already did that. For example, here.
I like how she says that she and her kind "watch all those who are strong in the Force in the universe", implying that there are who knows how many Force orders and religions outside the known Star Wars galaxy.
@@Dakarai_Knight Fun fact, Earth does actually exist in star wars, the first hint being the opening line "a long time ago in a galaxy far far away", far away from the reader, on earth Earth has also appeared in a comic, han and chewie crash land the falcon on it and create the legend of bigfoot, or more specifically, bigfoot from outer space, though this is non canon Its also entirely possible that Coruscant IS Earth, due to being the supposed homeworld of Human's in the star wars galaxy, and the few remaining parts of Coruscant's true surface heavily resemble Earth mountain peaks
My headcanon is that 'the Force' and real-life 'Dark Matter' are the same thing(If I remember correctly, Dark Matter forms the structure of the universe and keeps galaxies together)
Why the hell SW movies don't go deep into the lore like the shows and books do? The Sequel Trilogy was PERFECT to explore the Jedi and Sith mythology, and yet they didnt
@@loganwendigo937 There is still hope for animated trilogy or series based on Lucas sequels plans. We can only dream about Disney decanonizing that crappy sequel trilogy they made.
Logan Wendigo it is such a shame George was a good filmmaker, but Disney decided to ruin everything. The sequel trilogy is as shit as fuck, rebels is boring, unrealistic and childish, the only good thing to come out of Disney Star Wars is the clone wars. I don’t want them to turn some sick legends characters into canon like revan or malgus for the simple reason that Disney will ruin it and turn it into a crappy kid friendly version that anyone above the age of 7 at the very most will hate. They won’t turn them in to films any way because the stories are too dark for a 6 year old.
BlindFuryPR he wasn't asking, he was stating (like yoda would) that this episode and the saga/episode arc it belongs to should be called the what the fuck saga lol I agree, not saying it wasn't great, because it was- just saying it was crazy!
I think that Anakin is just visible thing and other stronger force ghost are able to interact with other objects but that doesn't make sense for Luke to interact with objects as a force ghost. I am no expert on Star Wars things but I could at least try to make my own interpretations.
I love special k but I never tripped. It never had any effect like that on me just a very very strong sedative along with a floating feeling. I did some for my birthday 3 days ago.
Jedi star fighters were specially designed to be Force - compatible, so i dont find it surprising that his personal Interceptor is also designed like that.
Holy hell when you realize that R2 has literally been with everyone and seen and recorded everything that went on from TPM to now, you realize how special he actually is.
It is popular opinion, after all, that he is the narrator of the franchise Which makes the sequels even more stupid than they already were considering they deactivated him
@@rosariocrimson That is the original intention but towards the fall of the Jedi it becomes much more cult like and are often wary of emotions entirely. The most significant example being love as the Jedi of the Old Republic were allowed to love, marry, etc but of course in the Clone Wars that wasn't allowed
@@lancethedecayedguardian2719 ….I think you have a misunderstanding for marriage as Jedi. I have been seeing people not understand why the Jedi Knights are against marriages and discourage romantic love. I’ll be blunt, many of Star Wars fans do not understand the path of the Jedi Knight at all. It is not just a laser sword and the Force. It is a commitment with vows that must be upheld. Marriage is prohibited and was still prohibited in the Old Republic for very important reasons. The vows for marriage and the vows as a Jedi knight contradict each other. In marriage, the vows are said to value each other. But the vows as a knight states that one must show commitment not to one person but to the Force. That is why marriage is prohibited. Jedi are not celibate and can have intercourse, but cannot be bound into marriage. In rare cases marriage can be permissible such as Master Mundi’s case where he must marry and have children due to his species being very much endangered. However, the marriage vows must be adjusted to ensure that the priority is the Jedi Order and the Force. Consider being a Jedi Knight similar to being a Catholic Priest. Catholic priests cannot marry as their duty is to the people they are serving and to God. Being a Jedi Knight is not just the Force and a laser sword but it is a commitment and responsibility that is very difficult. The missions that Jedi Knights take can be very strenuous and they must be able to control themselves, lest they destroy all they are striving to defend. Both Marriage and Priesthood requires immense commitment. You cannot have both and be able to be fair to the responsibilities that both demand. That is selfishness. Is it fair for the spouse to be waiting aside as the Jedi Knight they are wed to go off into missions and rarely be able to be with them? What of children which require much attention to be properly reared? This is why marriage is prohibited in the Jedi Order. If you wish to be married, discuss with the Jedi Council if it is possible be married with the vows being adjusted for marriage or leave the path as a Jedi Knight to show proper commitment to the vows of marriage.
@@lancethedecayedguardian2719 In the case of Anakin Skywalker, he should have left the path as a Jedi Knight. He is strong with the Force and as a lightsaber duelist. But he struggles with his emotions and his commitment and vows. By marrying Padme, he betrayed the vows he took as a Jedi Knight. Some people try to dismiss this but this is a very very dangerous act. A Jedi Knight wedded a Senator. This is a very huge conflict of interest and if found out, the political consequences to both the Senate and the Order would be horrific. Any bill that Senator Amidala had could be called out for bias to benefit the Jedi. Padme and Anakin’s marriage goes against the responsibilities and vows that they both have taken as a Senator and as a Jedi Knight. Anakin should have left the path as a Jedi Knight and shown commitment to his marriage. One or the other. He cannot have both. It is because of the this conflict of interest and the fact that he cannot let go, that Anakin destroyed everything including himself. The Jedi Code and their beliefs are not to blame for Anakin’s own shortcomings.
@@lancethedecayedguardian2719 Look at Satine and Obi-Wan. Imagine if they actually did the same thing as Anakin and Padme? If they did that, Mandalore would be torn apart. The Jedi and the Mandolorians have been rivals for years and if a Jedi Knight had wedded the Duchess of the Mandalore, it would lead to factions like Death Watch to say that her position is not legitimate. It would also tie the Jedi Order to Satine as well. So once again, why marriage is a bad idea for Jedi Knights. If you wish to get married, then leave the knights and show proper commitment to your spouse.
wanna hockachewie i think he figured it out but about half way. he struggles to even contact the living and trying to manifest a ghost causes him great pain
wanna hockachewie qui gon learned from something called the Shaman of the Whills. I don't think these beings are the shamans or the Whills, but once qui gon was joined with the Force he could know that they could help Yoda
He does sat those who taught me. So they dod teach him. But it is evident he didn't complete his training. It's more than likely the test wasnt like yodas. Qui gon was a jedi and his role was to find anakin and train the the one who would set Luke on his path. He used to randomly turn off his computer and input random co ordinates into the hyperdrive to get him somewhere. It was his way of listening to the force and letting it guide him. He also hopes the forces will is not to dump him on a star. Don't know if the reference is cannon though but it seems close enough.
R2 in the OT: a cute little droid that accompanies Luke Skywalker on his adventures R2 in TCW: has traveled to the literal center of the universe and witnessed the creation of life and the Force
Can anyone say why r2 never shows footage like this to luke. I mean R2-D2 has seen so much jedi/force stuff maybe he should just show it to luke for his training.
He and C3PO have their memory banks erased at EP3 end, I think Obi-Wan or Bail Organa gave the order just after Leia and Luke birth. Sorry for the bad grammar lol
@@sebastiansuazo2734 Bail Organa in ROTS specifically said, "Have the Protocol Droid's mind wiped". Didn't say anything about R2, so it's safe to assume he was left alone.
@@sebastiansuazo2734 R2 definitely didn't have his memory wiped. He remembered Obi-Wan and was looking for him in A New Hope. Only 3PO's memory was erased.
Dont see why not.. Grogu is something like 50yo, the mandalorian story is set around 9ABY and Yoda died in 4ABY so they have 45 years to cross paths... also just realising Anakin was born 41BBY which means Grogu and Anakin could've been born in the same year!
"He is to teach one that will save the universe from a great imbalance." So that you may end up on square #1 again moments later and have the whole thing saved by a wamen.
so much lore protentional in this story .. whole universe full of force, and we just get to hear a tiny fraction of a story from one tiny galaxy, far far away...
I'm actually a little confused about that because Anakin is the chosen one, he is the one that was destined to fix the imbalance and I guess you could say he did that when he killed palpatine and vader (aka himself), yet it seems as tho they are referring to Luke when they say that, even tho he wasn't the chosen one destined to restore balance. So i don't really get it, why'd the writers make Anakin the chosen one and then have luke be the one that is supposed to learn about the cosmic force from yoda and restore balance? it doesn't really make sense to me
@@mish2637 Anakin forfeited his destiny turning to the dark side!!! and in doing so weakened his own resolve, and made himself too weak to do what was required to bring balance!! so Luke who was the catalyst by which presenting or helping Anakin with the strength he didn’t have in order to bring balance, so Anakin was the chosen one however Luke actually helped him bring that balance effectively making Luke a part of the chosen one aswell
@@mattkylie6723 I would agree with most of what you said but destiny isn't something that you can forfeit, it's not something that he can get away from. even when he turned to the dark side he was still the chosen one because as the chosen one he's supposed to control both light and dark therefore being on either side would not cause him to forfeit his destiny. He still fulfilled his destiny in the end. even though luke helped him turn back, luke wasn't really a part of the whole chosen one thing, mainly bc it's the chosen ONE not the chosen few or something.
@@mish2637 Destiny means the absence of free will, which Anakin had and exercised, so from the perspective of not turning to the dark side and completely crushing the Sith “yes” however he didn’t” he turned to the dark side and altered his destiny through his own choice!! this forfeited the greatness he was never going to accomplish.
@@mattkylie6723 but didn't he accomplish that greatness when he killed palpatine. He fulfilled his destiny it just wasn't in the way we first expected bc he had turned to the dark side. He did what the chosen one was prophesized to do, he fixed the imbalance in the force. So you saying he forfeited his destiny isn't really correct bc he still ended up fulfilling it in the end. Also turning to dark side wasn't much of a choice for him bc he was manipulated into doing that by palpatine, and if you watched clone wars then you saw that anakin had visions of the future when he was on mortis. It was always destined for him to turn to the dark side, all of it was still his destiny.
I've never seen that before, that was sick!!! I'll figure out witch episode this is on Disney + and put it with my Phillips Hue setup, thank you for this video 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I think it's going to look AWESOME!
I wonder if Anakin found out about this planet through R2. It could explain how he was able to become a force ghost despite not being trained, but could Anakin have passed the tests?
In George lucas's sequels Luke learn of the whills and cut himself from the force because he can't accept to not have free will over his actions ( he basically learns that the whils are controling him through the force to ensure he accomplish his destiny ). He later resolves the conundrum by discovering that while the whills ( the force ) create a destiny for everyone people still have free will because they can decide to reject this destiny .
I noticed that on a lot of the movies the Republic fighters all look like early versions of TIE fighters or versions of the empire fighters. A nice touch I thought also
That’s intentional. There’s a marked difference between Jedi and Clone starfighters: The clone fighters are built much heavier, both for survivability and firepower, but as a consequence are also quite costly. The Jedi, on the other hand, have no amenities, no safety measures, and little protection… Relying on the supernatural skills of the pilot and vastly superior speed to outmaneuver their enemies. After the war, the Imperial Navy saw the stunning success of the Jedi starfighters, and decided that small, cheap, and fast fighters would be chosen over the heavier gunships of the clones - Thus the X and Y wings were abandoned, replaced by the near-disposable TIE fighter.
"He is to teach one that will save the universe from a great imbalance." If they mention Luke here. Teaching him how to manifest his life force is not required because when Yoda trained Luke he was already alive.
Honestly just for laughs. There should've been a take that had yoda saying "900 years old, I am. Give a f**k, I do not" when something bad happens to him.
