Buvey was for once the only one who made some sense. Rory omitting KDB in midfield and Adam saying Rashford is better than Son. Totally deranged takes.
@@liamhackett7223 yea it’s weird, he’s down to earth kind of guy usually, I like his takes most of the time but then out of nowhere, sometimes it’s like he has a City agenda to push idk 🤷🏻♂️
@@boltonwandererscluboffootb4615tbf he was right, he predicted that Trent was weak defensively and everybody laughed at him, and then he was proved right with Trent sending Liverpool to Europa league
I’ve never seen someone so stupid speak with so much authority. He’s wrong all the time but rubs his chin and speaks like the messiah. He’s an absolute tool. This doesn’t just apply to his football knowledge either, when you hear him speak about pretty much any subject you realise that he’s just thick.
Been out for 6 months out the 12 is a valid point but KDB is top 3 all time prem mids. Be like trying to debate Salah who's the best winger in prem history. Sometimes people have just hit levels where you just can't even debate not having them in and when your in this debate and also the all time prem XI it's non negotiable.
Saying Pepe Reina was a terrible keeper is an all timer Rory shout, it's up there with Haaland being 'disrespectful to the establishment' Pepe Reina won the PL golden glove in his first, second and third season in the league - in a league with Cech, Van der Sar, Lehman Fastest PL keeper to reach 100 clean sheets He was also sort of ahead of his time in terms of playing out from the back and being good with his feet
I’m a Liverpool fan and FOR ONCE unfortunately I agree with one of Rory’s statements! He actually wasn’t a good keeper! He was one of the first to be good with his feet and turn over player! As a keep he was not that good
He was fantastic in his first 3-4 seasons, he was on a downward trajectory by the time he left though and wasn't as good as he was when he first came in.
He isn't better than Son, but let's be real here, he's better than Diaz, Martinelli and Grealish, you can't just shit on a player who had 30 goals and 11 assists like season just because his team this year is infinitely worse He is a special player ability wise, and I really don't think he was as bad as people say this season
@@ionuttrif8378no you can cause rashford is a form, usually last season is relevant to a player’s performance especially if they’re injured but for rashford it doesn’t matter since he can be great last season but awful like now
Rory with an absolute mare over KDB. KDB will go down as an all time premier league great probably top 5 midfielder ever, and im a liverpool fan. Of course hes in, how hes managed to turn it into a 10 minute debate and pick Rice over him is embarrassing lmao.
He is currently the best midfielder in epl history, in football history he is up there with xavi, iniesta, Zidane and modric, if he played for Barcelona or real Madrid he would have been the best midfielder in history
@@fathialjack2009 I mean you're not wrong, if he was making those passes in a real madrid shirt ppl would comfortably be putting him in that bracket. He 100% should be in that debate.
Rory has lost his mind. They said at the start if they’re picking an 11 to go play aliens or like space jam. Then De Bruyne is arguably the first name on the team sheet alongside Alisson, Salah and Haaland
@@SHW201 I’m a Liverpool fan and I’d say VVD is 6th on the list, after the 4 mentioned and rodri. It’s down to his dip in form last season but the competition at CB is still high, but VVD is still the best in the world
@@adeelarmhead9469there is no conversation to be had. Rodri is light years clear of Rice. Not to say Rice isn’t good, he’s decent, but he ain’t close to Rodris level
Is Buvey actually being the most reasonable person on this? Reina was a class keeper. That whole KDB thing was kind of wild with them each making a difference case for what they are basing picks on, showing thier agenda's. Rory just wanted to get Bernardo in because his the worlds biggest Bernando Silva fanboy, so was trying to restrict it to form in the last few months. Adam was trying to eliminate any mention of form being relevant to try and justify his later pick of Rashford. Buvey being reasonable and saying its over the year. You can't pick people that have played 6 games all year, but if someone has been insane for 6 months and injured the rest, that doesn't entirely discount them.
Reina wasn't class. He was a good goalkeeper sure. Not class tho. He made me extremely nervous. Never 100% commanded the box. Would have a slip up every two games. He was one of the best Penalty Kick savers tho. Had some excellent reflexes too and decent distribution. A class GK is a player that puts your mind at ease 90% of games. He just doesn't fit that category.
@@chrispalmer7893 I disagree man, I don't think he was class at all. I always felt he looked really nervous when it came to collecting crosses and commanding his box. Good player sure but wasn't world class by any stretch.
I think its his all time worst take. They started the video by saying its not about form and he turns it into a last 12 month convo. Rory just killed me in this one. Tough to listen to
Surprised there was such an argument for Bernardo vs KDB instead of Bernardo vs Rice. Could easily just plug City's entire midfield into the team and it would be the best midfield. Rodri, Bernardo, KDB.
It’s funny the excuse for Dias was he had no midfield for a couple weeks. But not taken into account for VVD last season when he had Henderson Fabinho and Milner infront of him with no legs 🤣
Pepe Reina was a phenomenal keeper. Stop talking crap Rory. Just to clarify, I'm not putting him in any top 10 keepers list, I'm not crazy, but was a very very good GK.
Agreed! But I can't see how there's no mention of Ray Clemence as Liverpool's greatest keeper of all time. The age of these guys must definitely be a factor! Lol
@@bigfatdiabeetus7962 As a sub topic they went onto to talk about Liverpool's best goal keeper of all time referencing Grobellar along the way. As you know, Grobellar was Pre Prem era! In this context Ray Clemence must be mentioned!
No disrespect to Kyle Walker. He’s an amazing RB. But Trent is special and if you build a team around him, you are definitely getting results. RB position has evolved and Trent is very similar to world class full backs such as Cafu, Roberto Carlos and Marcelo. Every right back is being compared to Trent and he is the benchmark. So he has to be easily in starting 11.
Kyle walker is mad over rated. He runs fast yeah sure but he also gets beat by top wingers all the time. City have possession 70% of the game and he gets like 2 assists a season. I really don’t get it plus he’s a piece of shit who had two kids outside of his marriage in which he already has kids with his wife. Buddys a clown.
Rory saying it’s not based on form Also Rory: ‘KDB hasn’t played all season’ Completely discounting the fact he has been the best footballer in the world for years
They were doing it based on cumulative play over the 23’ calendar year to now. KDB has only started 1 of City’s 20 league games this season + was injured in the UCL final. Despite his greatness, it’s understandable to be comprehensive abt putting him in considering he only played half of last year.
Im a Liverpool fan but rory tryna say no KDB is unbelievable 🤣🤣 they were saying this isnt about this season only and that was rorys only reason for bernardo to be in
Kyle Walker has not been better than Trent this year. He’s been burnt a lot of times this year and doesn’t add much to the attack. Trent has literally won games for Liverpool this year
I couldn’t believe when they said he’s been the best player for city so far. He’s been awful up until maybe the Club World Cup. And he has said the Bayern Munich move was bc of personal reasons.
Tbh if reece James could stay fit I would pick him ahead of Trent just cuz he has good attacking and defensive output Trent had his moments of quality but he's not great against attacking sides or even counter attacking sides unless he has someone double up with him One on one against a good dribbler he gets eaten every time Walker has had his issues this season but we all know how good he is when he's focused He's not the best attack wise but he does his job better than most when focused I just think the quality of right backs rn aint that great It mostly depends on what you want, I'd rather go for a defender who can defend and moderately attack
@@BiggestBirdonMars I think if you have those cb, Alisson, Rodri ect. You don't have to worry so much about defendong so you pick the best footballer and that is Trent. Even if James was fit.
@@BiggestBirdonMarsJames only performs as well as he does because he’s had a 5 back system most of his career so far lmao Tuchel tried a back 4 with Chelsea and James was exposed in those games and the same happens when he starts for England with a back 4… quality player but he’s not proven himself to be capable outside the extra defensive support he does get
@@BiggestBirdonMars "I just think the quality of right backs rn aint that great" Exposed yourself for having no football knowledge there lad. Trent, Walker & (fit) James could arguably walk into any team in the world.
Right. And all the folks talking about him getting caught out defensively so much last season aren't thinking. Our midfield was tragic, moving Trent up was to help with that, but when they would turn the ball over, he'd be caught out. There's a reason with a much better midfield he started this season much better...
Reina- 50 clean sheets in 92 league games, 3 consecutive golden gloves, highest clean sheet ratio in premier league history not bad for a terrible goalkeeper
Know its not the point but Reina was a class goalkeeper. Won 3 golden gloves despite Liverpool never having a truly world class defender while he was there
Rory is pure mental. Leaving KDB out shows he knows NO ball! Van Dijk was out for 9 months, was terrible the season after and is now back to pretty much top standard, but he was a certainty according to Rory..
This is the issue with footballing narratives cause it makes people forget simple facts. What u mean to say is Van dijk was out for 9 months, was the best cb in the world the season after, and then had a poor season. That season in the middle is completely forgotten when he played the most minutes of any outfield player in world football and made all the best XI teams. But because of the narrative that his injury ruined his career was so overused last season people have omitted an entire year of him being the best cb in the world
van dijk wasnt terrible. this narrative is bs. he was liverpools best defender but had to deal with the terrible midfield and a constantly changing partner.
the narrative on VVD is BS...VVD was out for 9 months, then came back 21/22 and almost won a treble, actually won 2 trophies, then had a below pre-season most center halves would be proud of and now back to being the very best...thanks
Rory refuses to listen to buveys argument about De bruyne doing what he’s done in the past 5 years, and then uses the argument for Declan Rice saying what he did for West Ham and made himself indispensable for Arsenal, De Bruyne came back for one game and showed he’s still at the level he was when he left, therefore he’s in the team simple as
I'm not sure how you guys struggled with some of this. KDB is nailed on, and then when you brought up LW, Son became nailed on, rashford isn't in the same league. And saying Pepe Reina was worse than both Chelsea's keepers and calling him bad is beyond wild. In his first season he broke the club record for successive clean sheets, broke Liverpool's clean sheet record in all competitions, and won the golden glove. He then won golden glove in the next two seasons, making a record three in a row, lost out by one goal on his 4th season, then joint won it in his 5th. Like call Cech and other premier league greats better than him, sure, but Reina was easily one of the leagues best keepers in his prime.
Conor Bradley has 3 assists in 3 games. Reece James has 2 assists in his last 30 games. Trent is head and shoulders above every right back in the world
@@daniyalwaliaziz6500 Walker, this season walkers attacking stats such as his accurate crosses has gone up, trent is improving defenceivly and walker Offensively but Walker is the best Rb trent is a inverted player not a fallback, when you look at walker I can't think of anyone who would get the best off walker on form, I Can think off multiple that could get the best of trent
Rory is absolutely desperate for KDB’s legacy not to overtake Lampard’s in everyone’s eyes, as the best attacking centre mid the league has seen. Which he already has. Goblin.
Trent this season doesn’t invert as much this full he’s playing out of position, football isn’t just every RB plays in the same spaces he has a different role
Baffles my mind, how you can not pick KDB, when he's in the discussion for the best Prem midlfielder of all-time. And on top of that, Rory's main argument is that he was injured for 6 months. Unreal.
All this video has proven is how much the league has fallen off. You've got Grealish, Diaz and Martinelli as choices for LW who all stink, no RW arguments because Salah is so clear of everyone, Shaw vs Robertson for a LB debate when both have barely played this season and Haaland being the only world class striker in the entire league. Imagine doing this 15 years ago there would be 5 choices minimum for every position.
Despite this, I feel that all three midfielders today of Rodri Silva and KDB make the PL 11 over the last 10 or so years funnily enough. But yeah the standards generally have gone down massively otherwise
Yes, going forward. But bradley is better than him defensively. Trent is a right midfielder, who can't play in midfield. So he plays RB. You can't compare him to other RBs.
@@sharingiscaring1952I’d disagree to a certain extent, he can most definitely play in midfield and it’s something he will get better at the more he plays there, he’s been excellent in there this season. But yes it’s very hard to compare him with other right backs as his defending isn’t as good as it should be.
I know kyle walker is a great right back, but he prevents city from being even more unstoppable moving up the pitch. Pep would take trent in a heartbeat...
Whenever talk shows say Walker over Trent it feels like they're trying to be edgey. Trent has been the best right back in the premier league for like 5 seasons already.
bro trent can't even defend against the big boys (the mbappes, alphonso davies, vinicious jr of this world). attacking-wise he's far superior though. that guy to me is a midfielder. he gets away with bad defending because he plays for one of the best teams if not the best.
The best part is when Buvey used Rory's Robertson logic for De Bryune and Rory's brain started malfunctioning. Saying Pepe Reina is terrible is a horrific take. Didn't he win the Golden Glove a couple of times against peak Van Der Saar, Cech etc. He is an absolute weapon and I have no idea how he has such a large platform. Says everything about social media.
Van Dijk has been the Player of the season. Man has the best aerial stats not just in league but in Europe. He’s also yet to be dribbled past or taken on. These things are casually brushed over because it’s him but he’s performing at world class levels yet again.
Rory: We aren't putting in Udogie because it isn't this season - Robertson has been injured but he's the best over a period of time... We aren't putting in KDB because he's been injured this season - Bernardo has been the best over the last 20 games...🤡
How can anyone argue with KDB? It’s not like he’s always injured, it was a nasty injury from which he has recovered from. Most seasons he plays 40-50 games a season, gets 15 goals and assists a season and passes the ball like no other.
I’m a Liverpool fan but I’d have Ake at left back. He was so good last season. Pep’s put him as left centerback this season but he’s better as left back
Kyle Walker is primarily a defender in a team that routinely has 70-80% of the ball, there is not a chance in hell pep plays him over trent. Why would u? Taa's numbers are insane compared to walker, and its a team that'll have the ball for 8 out of every 10 minutes. Whats the point in having walker there??
I think walker is brilliant and is arguably in an all time 11 in the prem. But since trent has started playing for liverpool i cant think of a year when walker has been better
Alisson - nailed on Trent - nailed on Dias/Stones VVD - nailed on Robertson??? Shaw??? Ake??? 🫣 Rodri - nailed on KDB - nailed on Silva/Odergaard Salah - nailed on Haaland - nailed on Son - nailed on
Every time they do these lists, they say "it's about ability, not form" and then immediately start talking about "they've not been great this/last season" 🤦🏾♂️😂
I think the Kdb thing could of been solved by telling Rory they r fighting robots, who do you choose That was the video set up and it makes sense As we can easily see from the extensive history he has that on his day kdb is the best prem player and an all time legend so obviously if you have to save the planet you choose a man that has a history of being better than everyone around him Edit: they told him, he didn’t listen
luke shaw is the most underrated player in the prem by a mile. just watch him play and you'll see how important he is to our team. his strength, his tenacity, his ability to carry the ball, his defensive duels. there are some question marks over his forward play but we dont allow him to go forward that much because of how solid he is defensively. as a defender he's been the best left back for the last 7-8 years easy.
They say not form but base it on form. Martinelli and Rashford haven't been great this year but were sensational last year. Son has been very good this year, terrible last year, but scored a lot of his goals from been as an ST not a LW. The issue is there just hasn't been a consistent LW, but I think in the right team Rashford would be it and I am an Arsenal fan I would pick Rashford.
it does make me laugh when fans of rival clubs talk about ur club, like adam saying konate has edged out van dijk this season which is just not true. I love konate and it’s a compliment to compare him with van dijk at all but he’s not been better than van dijk ask any liverpool fan. It’s one of those things where u judge them based off their standards not what they’ve actually done. If salah gets 19 prem goals in a season it’s seen as a bad year and if saka gets 15 it’s a great year so you’ll see people on that scenario say saka had a better year when he didn’t, it’s just ur expectations are different.
Wont take the Trent slander man. Wild to me that hes as generational as it gets and people are picking Kyle Walker over him. Who is the more special talent? Its that simple. You put the best out there and hes the best
How is gvardiol and udogie not getting shouts for LB Gvardiol has done so well for someone who is "playing out of position" Rival fans want to call him a flop but if you watch him for a full 90 minutes hes been consistent and i see him a future prospect
Its a midfield of de bruyne, rodri, silva or if you want to go more defensive maybe guimares or someone like it. Why rice? What has he done now? Maybe palhinha Non negotiable are de bruyne and rodri… Defense its robertson van dijk dias arnold Front three Son haaland salah

I just discovered the channel and I think this video is easily the most impartial discussion on what is usually a very biased argument. It’s very hard to argue with the team the boys landed on, even if I have my own personal preferences.
The logic at 26:10 was a bit weird. Adam mentions that Rice is included because of receiving two votes, and Rodri has three votes. Subsequently, he realizes there's actually a three-way tie among Rice, KDB, and Silva. Then, Rory states that Buvey chooses KDB over Silva, resulting in KDB's inclusion in the team. Why did Buvey have to make the deciding vote when each person had selected Rodri and two other players, who then tied with two votes each? It basically just ensured that Rice made the team by default, but maybe Rory had it in his mind that Rice was already in the team based on Adam's earlier statement suggesting he was. Rory could just as easily have turned to Adam and said, who are you picking out of Rice and KDB and then Silva would have made the team by default. Or Rory could have picked between Silva and Rice himself and KDB makes the team by default. KDB needed to make the team so I'm not complaining with the result but that was some odd reasoning there.
@@LuE87 I'm not sure what you mean by "letting youtubers after click bait own you". I enjoyed the debates and the video in general and I pretty much agreed with the final XI. Trent A.A vs Walker.... the best RB depends on how you want to construct the team, like how do you want em to play... straight attack its Trent, vs solid D with a lower counter attack its Walker
so Rory can include Ruben Dias who he has admitted has been poor this season, but can't add Kevin De Bruyne because he has been injured until recently?
