Example from my state, Massachusetts- age of consent here is 16. 16 and 18 is legal. 16 and 24 is statutory. Because there's a huge difference past a couple of years when you're that young and anyone who isn't disgusting knows that. Of course the grown adults that like to go on about "legalities" often ignore this fact and act like it's legal simply due to the age of consent, but most states' laws don't work that way.

I once got in a long lasting relationship with an 18 year old when I was 21, almost 22. I was super hesitant about it but we worked well for whatever reason. However, even that age difference was a little noticeable. I'm not sure if it was because I had been out and about in the adult world for a while and maybe saw things differently, or if it was something else. That's the only girl I was ever in a relationship with in which there was that big of an age gap. My point is simply that it depends on the individuals in question. The Cody situation is very different from the Slazo situation, I really dont think its fair to compare the two. With the Slazo situation, barely anyone gave him time to formulate a proper response and instead the content creators who he thought were his friends immediately jumped onto slandering him and immediately branding him as an abuser, they were clearly out for blood and didnt care about listening to any response from him and didnt give him a chance to defend himself. Cody Ko on the otherhand has been given plenty of leeway and time to construct a response, people were literally begging him to defend himself and make a response. When these allegations resurfaced a few months ago, his fans werent even immediately accusing him of being guilty, they were just begging for him to respond, I know because i was a longtime fan of the TMG podcast and I remember the comments (which were less heavily moderated compared to cody's personal channels). At this point it has been so long that cody choosing not to respond or even deny the allegations makes it very likely that he's guilty, because IF he is innocent then it would be ridiculously negligent and stupid to just ignore these accusations and allow his company and the content creators he's closely associated with to suffer a serious reputational hit by being associated with a possible statutory r*pist. Cody's not an idiot, he wouldnt tank his company and his relationships with other content creators for no reason if he was innocent. Also, the most important difference is that when the allegations against Slazo came out, slazo was absent from the internet until he posted his response, he was not ignoring the accusations, he was just spending time making his response video. Cody on the otherhand has been heavily moderating his comments and deleting mentions of tana and the allegations, and was continuing to post regular videos on his channels as if nothing was happening (until d'angelo wallace made his video and it hit the wider youtube audience, which is when cody stopped uploading), so he was clearly intentionally ignoring the allegations which is a TERRIBLE look, and definitely not what Slazo did.

He expresses exactly what the majority thinks on every issue all the time. If there isn’t a clear majority opinion that is “winning” then he simply won’t discuss the topic. That man wouldn’t take his own stand on something anymore than a fish would ride a bicycle.

Thank god most people aren’t like you. If there were no adult mentors around in my teenage years I don’t know where I would be today A lot of people who are young and troubled can turn their life around if an adult who genuinely cares about them and provides guidance steps into their lives. Many people have toxic uncaring families and/or run with a bad crowd, and many times unrelated individuals are the only way they can actually figure their life out. Trying to help sometime who is struggling is not wrong, you shouldn’t be afraid of interacting with people who are under 18 because you think it makes you some kind of creep. With even a modicum of boundaries and common sense this isn’t an issue. Not sure why you need to be paid or share genes with someone for you to be able to be there for them…

People are forgetting that most countries with age of consent below the age of 18 still have clauses for sex between adults and minors. In Germany two minors can bone ("age of consent" was 13 iirc), and there's like a Romeo/Juliet law if one turns adult before the other while they were already in a relationship, and I believe there's a 1 or 2 year gap where sex is fine, i.e., 16/18 or 17/19, anything else is statutory grape. Don't quote me on that though, I haven't checked these laws in half a decade.

If the minors going places they don’t need to be in then it can happen. When I was 17, I wasn’t out in about everywhere trying to get with older people. And I know that because I was 17 a few days. Quit babyfying that butch and let her be accountable. Minors have a responsibility too and that’s to not put themselves in positions to get older people in trouble.

This is a complete non-argument. The age of consent in the states they both lived in at the time was 18 --- 17 is less than 18, hence, it was still a crime. The AOC in a different state does not magically apply because it's convenient. People arguing "age of consent" like this isn't a good look anyway - that's still an adult sleeping with a literal high-schooler. What ISN'T creepy about that to you???
