I've lost count how many times I have seen this masterpiece. Though graphic and brutal in nature, the film has a soul that hauls me towards the screen.
So strange that I saw this, I did the exact same thing. I watched this film every single day one summer because I wanted to catch every element of it. The first film I truly considered one of my favorites. It serves as inspiration for many of my short films.
I would actually LOVE if you did an episode of Roger Deakins. He is the greatest living cinematographer and is incredibly well spoken. I love hearing his thought process on lighting and composition.
He is a master. I found a few really good videos of him talking about how he shot this film and found that he expands a lot on what is behind every shot choice. He and Chivo are at the top for me
The intimate ambient sound design of this movie is hugely satisfying. I wish there were more films that had that much attention to it. There are a lot of surprisingly quiet movies that don’t utilize their sound in all that empty audio space.
Even though it might not be my favorite Coen Brothers film (True Grit is) - it's still a great film. The reason I love this film is that they proved they can make a great movie without their usual quirky humor they like to add to their films. They proved how versatile they are with this.
I was never of the mind that Chigurh was the villain, or even _a_ villain. In the context of movie villainy, like Hannibal Lecter, sure. But to me, Anton Chigurh is the embodiment of Evil, just as Ed Tom Bell is the embodiment of Good. And Llewelyn Moss is Man.
just found this channel through youtube recommendation and i'm very glad , great concept and videos. i'm sure you will get more recognition :) please do consider making videos on less talked about great directors.
Wow, so glad you stumbled upon it. I'm just getting started, but am so happy people are enjoying the videos. I would love to do less well known directors in the future! If you have any suggestions, just let me know and I'll check them out
Great video as always... I Love this movie. It would be awesome to see How Alfonso Cuarón directed Children of Men (my all-time favorite) , just a suggestion.
Try working on a ranch that is Eagle Pass, Tx and Uvalde, Tx and reading this book on your lunch break in an old beat up Ford…just 100 ft from the Nueces river. Best feeling ever
once again awesome video! this is in my top 3 favorite movies of all time! ❣❣ first time I watched it, anton chigurh sent chills up my spine, hes is the most terrifying villain ever
I’m so glad I discovered this channel! A wonderful channel and informative, I hope to see more, I’d love one on Denis Villenueve, Christopher Nolan and perhaps some actors such as Jake Gyllenhaal, I hope to see more videos from you soon!
Thanks so much! I'm glad you've found it! You'll definitely see more. I release videos weekly. All great suggestions. I'll have them on the on going list :)
The Director's Cut you must have quite a list then! If I may ask what are some of your favourite directors/actors/writers/films? I love hearing other people’s tastes in film.
@@MohitSubedi I few that stick out to me at the moment are Wildlife by Paul Dano (for theme, acting, and visuals), Ballad of Buster Scruggs (particularly the third, fourth, and six stories), Lady Bird (Saoirse Ronan has a special place in my heart), Children of Men, Spirited Away, Shawshank Redemption...I could go on for a while haha

Well, I, for one, was completely terrified by Javier Bardem’s character. Whenever he appeared, I actually felt a bit nauseous. However, I am overly sensitive to graphic violence, so... yeah.
Agreed it’s a ripoff of a brilliant 80s movie called Blood Simple it’s also set in Texas and is a thriller but with a far superior script and characters
