The COLD Lightsaber Type All Jedi Wanted - Star Wars Explained 

I can imagine that these powerful crystals are able to chose their wielder as well. If they're so rare, and so sought after, something must've kept everyone from discovering them through thousands of years. Like in a sense, they chose those that are worthy, those that doesn't seek it for their own gain, Jedi and Sith alike

It should also be noted, in Legends continuity, the term was "Lightsaber crystal" not Khyber Crystal, as Khyber Crystal referred to a single specific crystal that had force enhancing properties from the novel "Splinter of the Mind's eye" and after that book, Luke placed a small shard of that crystal into his Lightsaber as a secondary crystal. It should also be noted that Synthetic crystals could be made and though were mostly associated with the sith, anyone could use them, and alter them during manufacture to get desired properties, light color, cohesion, or even oscillation. That is why lagends had so many novel lightsabers.

Well, the Antares crystal is definitely the most tempting to me. Having a weapon that also heals you is a significant advantage, and the fact that it's not restricted to the light side is a plus.

From what I gathered about Kyber crystals. Is that they’re semi sentient things that exist like the force does, with an interaction with is as well. I think the class of crystals is determined by its level of sentience. This class makes the amount of power/ ability produced based on the crystal’s opinion of the user

A passive healing effect would in almost any situation be better than the others. I would take the Ghost Fire only because it seems more accessible than the other two. And having a blade that is hard to see and hear would make for some really cool Assassins Creed type kills on targets. I would imagine even creating a more stealth type of Light Saber that would make such kills easier. Using this Khyber Crystals in other weapons would be the best option for a Sniper Rifle but also for any blaster type weapon. Making it so your first shots were impossible to see or hear. And even in the thick of combat if they don't know when you are firing it would make them more vulnerable to well based timing.

For me, knowledge is an extension of one's willingness to learn all things through the galaxy, which the jedi took great care of and took very seriously. I would go for the perma frost crystal. It's looks like a cool concept of having a blade that generates no heat at all and only has an alliance to the owner and the owner alone. I'm always eager to know more lore on the Star Wars universe.

So, if you had a Jedi/Sith who got lucky enough to find a permafrost or similar that liked them enough to go with them, and they already had a regular kyber and were techy enough, I can see them making a new saber with some kind of fader switch so they could adjust how hot or cold their blade was. 🤣Now I'm picturing this person getting their adjustments on that fader juuuuust right for a "room temp" blade, so it's basically a Boffer baton. Use it for non-lethal situations like sparing or teaching a lout a lesson that doesn't involve amputation.

Thank you for finding out about the later two of these crystals. They sound like ideal candidates. For the lightsabers I described. A handful of videos back. When you asked us. What style we would have, as our own lightsabers. As one who would chose too be a Grey Jedi. Or a Padawan of Ahsoka Tano. And follow in her footsteps. As I would be using my afore mentioned Saber's . I will be taking one of the Antares crystal. And one of the Ghostfire crystals. Of coarse I will be using the Ghostfire crystal. In my shorter off hand saber.

Legends makes Kyber Crystals so much cooler.

That's actually quite interesting. The Permafrost Crystal being a Dark Blue, loyal crystal to its Jedi friend. I think that would be the best choice for anyone who wants to make up their own, very unique Jedi character. The Antereas one goes a step further, and arguably the most well rounded. One that heals its wielder, its friend, regardless of alignment. Perfect for Jedi or Sith Ghostfyre Crystal being a stealthy one is also unique. Not only is it quiet, but shoot, you could even make other Kyber weapons that I'm sure would have an interesting effect overall, especially with it having an after effect. Though, can the Ghostfyre crystal have different colored hues? Or does it have to be a light grey color?

Ghostfire sound great for my Arztra character, while the neutral alignment crystal more likely fits my Katzee, and the permafrost would really fit my dear Anya well.

the whole 'cold as a weapon' concept in fantasy will always baffle me because it takes much more energy and time to remove heat from a target than to simply disintegrate it's molecular structure with EXCESSIVE heat. It looks cool though

Permafrost or ghost fire crystals would be my choice.

The sapphire reminds me of the very first non lucas star wars book, the Splinter of the Mind's Eye and the huge healing gem, the Kaiburr Crystal or the Heart of Pomejema, if I had a choice and was a Jedi Shadow, without a doubt the ghostfire would be my choice. Combined with Force Stealth... no Sith would feel safe

The Permafrost Crystal/Lightsaber...now, We NEED to see that depicted in print, gaming, Animation, and live-action. Can that Rebel Officer (name, please?) be seen in The Mandoverse (inc. The Bad Batch, given that Dathomir was just devastated, near the end of The Clone Wars, and the horrors are still fresh, and Morgan Elsbeth is connected to the event), in both a flashback, then in the present time of Din Djarin and Grogu. It would be really nice and cool, if Doctor Aphra, SW: Outlaws, and the Cal Kestis trilogy, in some way, mentioned both this Hoth-made find and The Antares Crystal (w/ The Emperor wanting it, and tasking Dark Side Prophet, Perek/Cronal to find it). If all of this lore becomes official canon, IMAGINE if (as per your wish) Jedi Master Luke Skywalker eventually acquires The Permafrost Crystal, and ultimately gives The Permafrost Lightsaber to...Din Grogu? That way, by the end of The Mando Saga, Sabine (as per my wish) would own Luke's makeshift yellow Lightsaber (from Shadows Of The Empire), while Grogu would have a very exotic Jedi weapon of his own, that, by nature, belonged only to him (if he can't create his very own unique-bladed one). Conversely, imagine if, within The Unknown Regions and/or The New Beyond, Grand Admiral Thrawn located and acquired The Antares Crystal, in an attempt to combat The Jedi? Now, if Grogu couldn't have The Permafrost Lightsaber, I'd be happy to see him get The Ghostfire (Crystal) Lightsaber. Man, this was a very cool video. As per your question: If I had the chance, my first choice would be, The Permafrost Lightsaber, then The Ghostfire one...though, all 3 are insanely cool. May The Force Be With You...

Ghost Fire Crystal? Never heard of that one before today. The Light Sabers with it would be similar to a different type of Sci Fi weapon that is not in Star Wars probably; monofiliment wips, that could with a tractor beam to make the flexible wip rigid...become rigid and almost invisible swords. 25,000 degrees is the 'normal temperature' for light saber plasma?! I saw a video with a maker who attached a high power electrical supply to a Tungsten Rod...and it glowed impressively but cut very slowly even at full power because it was below the melting temperature of Tungsten. Regarding crystals that help with healing the Jedi wielder; however that works it would probably be faster and have other benefits compared to technological medical treatments. If that was a known possibility a logical and practical use is really tiny crystals so small they are useless for a Light Saber...and a Healing Corps of weak Jedis that get one of those crystals as an amulet, or bracelet, or in a ring = medics in war or in peace that could address injuries faster and differently than pure technology medic options.

What's the source for the Ghostfire? The fact that it refers to it as a kyber crystal suggests it's post-Disney. Its stealth effects seem more like what you'd get from a stygium crystal pre-Disney

My husband and I don't see eye to eye on dog training. Because of this my puppy had too much freedom too soon and didn't get properly socialized. I think the Kyber crystals from Legends are a hell of a lot more interesting than the Canon Kyber Crystals.

I would spend an eternity if needed to collect all three and create a a brand new tri phased saber Similar to Vader's dual phase where he could change his blade length accept mine would alternate Chrystals

NGL, I hate that they changed how crystals work. I feel like lightsabers have gotten to... "magical" in their design. It's just a crystal; like a prism. It's meant to magnify and focus a stream of energy from a power-source into a blade of energy shaped by a magnetic field. Think of a magnifying glass and the rays of the sun. But to the videos question, I would probably want the sapphire. Healing properties aside I see myself as a neutral force user and would need a crystal I can actually use.

So the Mythology or Cannon for Star Wars Light Sabers is about 1/2 or 1/3rd of the Green Lantern Corps and all the OTHER colors that each have a Lantern Corps. Neither is scientific...but that is fine because fiction only needs to obey it's authors rules, and authors do not always describe all the rules to fans, leaving some undefined. But if this Cold Crystal or Permafrost Crystal was at all possible; logically with an entire galaxy of planets there should be millions of planets where it could exist, not merely one. Only one planet period is either an arbitrary rule for whoever imagined it, or it would be an in Universe rule enforced by someone far stronger than any described Jedi for unknown reasons. Either is problematic; if it is just an arbitrary description the better way to describe it is it can exist only on cold planets with a specific chemistry or geology = rare. Far more problematic is imagining an entity that could and would ENFORCE that rule forbidding that type of crystal on any planet besides one...because Star Wars does not ever as far as I know describe any entities that strong. Note though; I am no Star Wars nerd with hundreds of books to reference...so I could be wrong on that last part.

This story of the locals seeing someone a, clear outsider, as a major important factor of their culture, especially an particularly an artifact, reminds me of when the Ewoks mistook 3PO as a God. It seemingly being able to REFUSE to even activate it seems like apparently the Dark Saber WASN'T the only kinda saber seemingly semi sentient. As this kinda crystals seem to insist they answer to and/or serve no one BUT their owners or those that meet a criteria, the crystal set, for being worthy to use it.. But damn were you unstoppable just about if you chose one these an they felt the same..

I hate the carp, here are my points. Unique means 1 of a kinde. And sins all crystals a 1 of a kinde, they are all unique, or more inportent NON OF THEM ARE. I realy hate how the meaning of words gets twistet only to make something look cool!!!
