This is the best college advice video i've ever seen, as a rising senior who literally went thru these EXACT SAME EXPERIENCES when covid hit I can say 100% that this entire video is absolute gold
Nina, when you said "We are all capable of achieving so much" tears started coming out of my eyes because I am literally in the trenches right now. I'm in 2nd year of my CS + Econ degree and it just feels like EVERYONE is doing better than you. But this video is a good reminder that it's just all in our heads.
The not being able to get close with close friends is so real. I would put in so much effort and be so committed to people I don’t necessarily vibe with like that. Now that I’m in college not going to be making that same mistake
The last tip hits me hard. It's only been the first year, but every time I reflect my college experience, I realize I didn't go through with exploring things that I found interest in. I thought to myself I valued spending time with friends I've been kinda close with over some little clubs. In the end, I felt my experience was so incomplete and pointless. It makes me realize how I have to balance my priorities next semester.
Something that I also do on the first few days of the semester is to put down all my homework, exams, and other important events in my calendar. It's my daily reminder of what I have to do. Check that shit everyday and you'll be aware of what's to come
3:33 💯🤯 YES! I was almost in tears. Right, during the pandemic, we couldn't be on campus anymore and my "friend circle" became non-existent. That was eye-opening.
Lemme tell you, having someone you know in certain situations are very helpful. I remember I was super nervous for baseball practice and I knew a person and met her friend and no I didn’t make the team but it made me feel SOOOO much better.
oh yeah, the last tip is definitely important.. it's not 'uncool' to try hard and there's nothing wrong with having a fervent passion for something u care about. thank u for the thoughtful n insightful tips nina!
Are we living the same lives Nina? this is exactly how i feel about friendships i swear. thanks for the video, absolutely enjoyed it. subscribing! love the vibes, the energy.
thank you for this. im a freshman 2nd semester and my college “friend” is saying “you better pick a major soon” as im undecided. im taking all gen eds rn and they said “dont take too many gen eds u will have a harder time.” but i try not to care and just take each day as it comes
Yeah. .making Real friends is hard in college esp when you dont know anyone. USA is such a big country so unless you are living together its so hard to be close with each other.
My school is starting in 2 weeks, any advice on how to naturally make friends without approaching someone and unknowingly seeming as if I have some ulterior motive. Since covid I have not attend school in almost 2 years, so it's a bit daunting u see. Any advice is appreciated ty :)
Holy shit Nina, I feel like we have learned the same lessons in college, especially the one about friendships and that trying hard is not uncool. Damn I really thought I had it figured out in my first year 🥴
Hey how do people make friends in college? I am a freshman and when I go to class nobody seems to want to speak to me (maybe that's just my impresson).
2:00 One of my friends from school was telling us that he made a friend in the first week who then told a poem about t*rturing hamsters. They are no longer friends.
The Majority of your Organisation's are Charades. You can't compete with Giants. So you're merely Assemblers. However, Assemblers do need to be educated to correctly configure software. What You need to do is Teach "Scratch/Sonic Maker" at GCSE High School Level (Age 13). Then Java at the Harvard Level at University. Then in Industry, they'd be able to Start off doing the Smaller Jobs. After a few Years, they'd be Able to do Complex things.
She grew up quickly, but stays beautiful. I am Mathematician and software Engineer living in Paris and I love her! Come to Paris, we will open a startup!
i remember first watching your college decisions video as a middle schooler, had this video saved in my "Watch Later" for almost two years. now i'm coming back to it as an incoming freshman at mit!!
I've been in this uni (uottawa) for like 3 months now and I have no single friend. Idk just feels like every student doesn't want me because of my Hijab because I'm Muslim I don't feel welcomed at all
Nina it’s important wat u do the time after u graduate. Employers don’t like to see gaps in the time immediately following school graduation! Maybe you can have a serious talk with your parents or family as they know u best. I wish I listened to my father when he told me to get any job after I graduated from college.
college is a horrible financial decision.. instead of borrowing money to pay people to make you work for them it makes a lot more sense to double your money with bitcoin in the next 4 years. college is basically just the last summer camp before you have to become an adult. it's your final opportunity to be around people your age and to fall in love without online dating. 90% of jobs only require 4 weeks to 4 months of training. for women it's especially stupid 'coz if you want babies you aren't gonna be working anyway and you don't need a degree to change poopy diapies.
