Nice karaoke act. No Lionel, Thomas or Ronald. I know these guys need to make a living, but seriously this is merely an passable imitation of the original band. Good luck continuing to fool the average concert goer.
They're not trying to fool anyone. Everyone who attends their concerts knows their history and the group didn't end when Richie, Tommy and Ron left them. Sure, I loved when the group had the original lineup, but life and time goes on. I say more power to them. Truth be told a lot of so-called fans abandoned them when Richie left and you're probably one of them, which means you were a Richie fan and not necessarily a Commodore fan.
Hey Chris....what have YOU done in your life that is comparable to what these men achieved? Yes they have gotten older and band members have moved on (you didn't even mention Milan Williams the original keyboard player. GOD bless and keep him), but even Ali got old, James brown got old, McCartney got old and good lord willing you too will one day get old. Yes I can understand where you're coming from if not the crass way you put it...but I don't think they are trying to fool ANYONE...they are playing music that is their legacy and they are entitled to do so. I first saw them before they had any hit records. They opened the show at the Apollo theatre in Harlem. Also on the bill was Jr. Walker and the All Stars and the headliners were Smokey Robinson and the Miracles (Smokeys farewell tour). So chill with the unnecessary rhetoric. You don't always have to say everything you're thinking.
