I love Jimmy Somerville, he sings with so much passion.

We listened to this in the 80's as young teenager. I was cool then. But listening back, So emotional. I just love the thought that this music is in my DNA. No wonder we raved after having this pumped into us. Thanks Mr Sommerville xx

Such a happy and hopeful song to come out of that gloomy london new wave times. I was a teen, and the communards' music was so formative. As a mature woman in her 50s and still young at heart, of course, this song now reminds me of my dad, who's now passed on :) Also, Jimmy has the voice of an angel.

I sang this to my girlfriend in a cafe in Amsterdam in 2003. I'd taken her on a surprise holiday for her birthday. She thought we were simply going for a picnic on the coast an hour's drive from our home, but I had our suitcases in the car & we were heading to the ferry. The night before, in our hotel near the Rijksmuseum, I'd realised for the first time that she loved me like I loved her. That morning in the cafe, I sang to her then get down on one knee, at the same time she got down on one knee too. We both asked each other to spend the rest of our lives together, & everyone in the cafe clapped. I still sing it to her now, 20 years later, & I still mean every word of it. I love you, my darling Maria. You are my world now, then & always.🥰
