im getting this for my little brothers who are 10 and 12 this christmas, my dad got these for me when i was a kid and these comics are engraved into my personality to this day. i can only hope that they love it as much as i did and also fall in love with comics in general just like calvin and hobbes made me love them

We had 2 newspaper subscriptions, and I had to read both because some cartoons would cut off chunks of the cartoon. By reading both sunday funnies I could usually see the whole thing between them.

I'm laughing as I see him flip through to certain strips. There are few greater delights than coming across a die-hard "Calvin and Hobbes" fan.

Thank you very much, after much consideration, I am one click away from ordering it, convinced of the quality and interest of this particular edition.

I used to tear up my grandparents and aunts Sunday papers to get out the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip full color page!

I just finished this set and it's wonderful! This is so incredibly fulfilling and awesome. This is a fantastic set I'll be revisiting quite often.

Just an FYI, the books are sown, both the hard and soft cover sets (the glue is just holding the outside cover in place).

I love Calvin and Hobbes!

The ghostwriter of Calvin and Hobbes was A prolific writer. He started writing screenplays before his first birthday and Star Wars in that first set of screenplays. He went on to write hundreds of screenplays for movies like Back to the Future, Tron, The Iron Giant, Who Famed Roger Rabbit, The Matrix, Top Gun, The Princess Bride, The Goonies, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Deep Impact, The Fifth Element, MIB, ID4, Twister, As Good as it Gets, Groundhog Day, Ghostbusters, Gremlins, The Mummy, Contact and the list goes on. TV series, songs, books, comics and videogame concepts were also written by this guy. There are many occurrences in his work that can lead you to find out who he is. Some will just point to his other projects. Back to the Future has about 20 things in it for you to find. They vary in difficulty and the types of clues. He no longer writes as he had another stroke 2006. Along with other health issues that continue to this day. The first HP movie, the videogame and this upcoming FB movie were set to released on his Birthday Nov.16.

It's odd to see this, I also bought myself the paperback version, but mine is in a wider format like the hardcover version. I guess they revised it at some point? I bought mine about 2 years ago from Barnes and Noble so it's not like it's bootleg or something. It appears to be the same style and quality of materials, just in a wider format.

Does it contain all the front cover artwork?

Does your set have the spaceman spiff large comic where Calvin throws a water balloon at his mom and shots Susie with a squirt gun? Cuz mine doesn't have the elephant one

Agreed that the HC version looks too cumbersome. I wish for both versions they had finger notches for each volume so that you could remove them from the case without having to tip the whole case over to get them to slide out. I also feel like both versions have a lot of wasted margin space. How has the paperback version held up for you?

I have the hardcover version of this, it has 3 books. This edition has 4 books, so has this one more comics? Or just same amount? Because the 3 books look a bit thicker.
