Larry talked the talk because he could walk the walk. The word for Bird was: 'RESPECT'. Don't think for one minute that opposing players (and coaches!) on ALL teams didn't respect what Larry Bird could do.

They all hated him but loved him even more. They all admitted it after he finished. GOAT.

Man, I could watch Bird Stories forever. Dunno why. I watched him play. Never knew he was a trash talker at the time. Seemed quiet on the court, from the distance of TV land anyway. Courtside seats during that era woulda been somethin'. Always remember the time he came out after hurting his back. Didn't think he would be back, but the impact he had on the game when he came back. Never seen anything like it my life. One man, comes back after an injury and the entire game changes. But, you knew it would. You could feel the letdown in the opponents. "Damn, we're up now, but Larry's back." You knew what would happen...and it did. It was really like a movie when Superman finally shows up and saves the day. lol Love the Vids. Good job ;)

His competitiveness and drive to be the best he could be.. is almost impossible to copy.. we were blessed during his time to witness such a great individual..

what I keep getting from all of these bird stories is that he is the greatest trash talker ever. not only would he tell you that you sucked and what he was going to do but he also had the skill to back up every single word he said. That free throw reporter story is crazy.

Thank you for these videos this was the only era I watched basketball on tv loved live in school but never a fan of on tv then in the 70s heard bout all the bad stuff gonna on then in 80 started hearing bout this white boy outta indiana playing great for celtics in his rookie year Im white but that wasnt it it was the way they were talking mostly black friends saying things like I cant believe this guy is white so even tho lived in mi had friends in chicago and all over but I rooted for celtics and watched til he retired he could just do so many different things he was truly amazing Larry Bird will always be my GOAT Love the videos thank you from a granny who loved seeing Larry play again...❤

Man just imagine they were so good and Bird was so nasty that really good players of that time, took nights off just not to have to play them, in the NBA, when guys didn’t take nights off like now. I had the privilege of watching the Legend while at Indiana State, The Los in the NCAA Championship. It’s great someone took the time for these 4 compilations. I’m also thankful it was you doing it. Great food on the editing. BTW he talked trash in college as well. Lol

Larry Bird's approach always struck me as somewhat analogous to that of the great Mariano Rivera. Mariano had exactly one pitch. You knew full well what he was going to deal you. Same thing as Bird telling opponents exactly what he's proposing to do, then doing it. With both of these cats, that foreknowledge mattered exactly zero.

Your vids on Larry Bird are my favorites. Grew up being a Larry Bird and Robert Parrish fan. My favorite play was a sleight of hand dish from Larry to Robert ending with a monster one handed dunk. My nickname was BIIIIRD! when I played bball...largely because Im white; I dont think my game has even the smallest molecule of Larry's ability...besides breathing....maybe. 😄

His 25th Anniversary Video, entitled Larry Bird basketball legend. I have his wars against Magic and the Lakers on VHS. Some of his wins and defeats against Dr. J and the Sixers in the 80's. Games against the Pistons! I have recorded games when Indiana State beat Depaul, and his NCAA Finals game against Magic, Greg Kelser and Michigan St.... The Boston Celtics use to have 3 pre-season games against NBA opponents at the Hartford Civic Center in Conn where I once lived.. I made sure and had tickets EVERY YEAR for those contests! I have every "92 Dream Team" game plus the "Tournament Of The America's, the tune up games before the Olympics also on DVD! So I have proof that Larry Bird *BELONGS* on Mount Rushmore, without a doubt. He should be there for all eternity❗Shaq says you have to have G-14 Certification Status for Mount Rushmore Approval. Both Bird and Magic should have *Full Exemption Status* ❗The certification is not applicable to them▪️▪️▪️▪️ One of the Greatest Players to ever lace'um up....

Being a piston fan for years when the pistons were the pistons I never heard the full comment that was made by Rodman and Isaiah. But knowing Isaiah he he was laughing because he knew that Larry was one of the best ball player's ever. Bird got upset when you heard it but I think looking back he realizes what Isaiah was actually intimating. I got more respect for Isaiah now that I heard the actual recording. I know he knew better. Those were the best days of basketball I believe. They did more than just dunk the ball which any person with heights can complete.

I can’t remember the game, man I wish I could remember the game. It’s was late in Birds career. His back was all torn up. He was out of the game constantly but he suited up for this particular game at Boston Garden. He probably wanted to give the hometown a show. He hurt his back in the first half scored maybe a couple points and went out because of the bad back. He was hobbling around. He came to start the second half and the crowd went insane! Larry scored 35 points in the second half. He was absolutely on fire hitting everything. Hobbling around with his bad back. Barely able to run and still kept hitting shots. I had tears in my eyes. I’d never seen anything like that before. He was unreal.
