Sounds like bit crushing from RU-vid's compression algorithm, did you ever figure this out? BTW, also sounds like you had the noise gate threshold set too high on your mic, frequently causing words to be cut off. Thanks for the great info, I'm sure I'll refer back to this video often!
If you turn off the KEY on the noise osc it allows you to do what you were showing in the EQ you can HP/LP the actual Noise OSC and choose where you want the Noise Freq to be using the CTRL A knob
Hi. Thanks for the vid. Still, is there any way to get rid of that "videogame from the 90's" timbre of almost all presets in Spire? Like, they sound too dry and crispy. Adding reverb or more bass doesn't help. Or I should just try out other synths?
I love spire synth, sound amazing, how ever I have the demo version , I love all the presets that come with especially making that trance sound it cuts out after a little while because I have the demo version, saving up buy the full version buts worth every dollar as it expensive, great tutorial found it very easy to understand
Sup Zen! Great tutorial as always! One thing I'd really wanna see that no one has made a video about yet is Brooks' lead to "If Only I Could". It's a very unique sound, like you said I believe Brooks uses Spire most. Use the preset as an example in a Spire tutorial or something, idk just my thoughts! Liked
How do you set Spire to just the most basic default preset? A reset so you can start a sound from scratch. I thought it was the INIT button but every time I click INIT it just saves the settings I currently have so I end up having init, init (1), init (2) etc. saved in my preset bank. Idk if I'm doing this right.
please list your computer specs please. yours seems to be running several instances of serum but mine cant even run 2 instances to sylenth 1 please ....
They can both do things the other can't. However most of Serum's strong points revolve around dubstep and the like, or manipulating wavetables...ONLY. Spire, on the other hand, is capable of multiple types of synthesis, can sound incredibly rich and actually analog, not only digital, and the effects, especially reverb, are a mile above Serum's. If your goal is to master the dubstep genre, you probably want Serum. If your horizon includes ANY other genres, Spire is the way to go.
Spire keeps making various sounds on it's own in many presets. It's a bug and I have the latest version... and there's no panic button to disable it...
What sort of noise? I've had Spire well over a year, through numerous updates, and never heard "various sounds" unless you're talking about the unregistered version. Buy it and properly enter your registration info.

I played the piano for many years but this is totally alien to me lol. I think I'll just keep fiddling around with the settings until the instrument sounds like something I like.
They change the way the sound develops over time. The way they change the sound depends on the target of the envelope. A standard amp envelope changes the loudness (amplitude) of the sound in certain ways over time, such as how long it takes to reach full volume (attack) and how long the sound keeps sounding after the note is released (release).
