If you've never been in a successful relationship, how are you supposed to be confident in your relationship? If you never expect to win, you'll behave as if you're a loser. This is the confidence paradox: in order to be happy, liked, or successful, you must first be confident. If you're stuck in the loser loop, getting out feels nearly impossible. Perhaps the confidence problem isn't so much of a conundrum as it appears.
Getting a promotion does not always imply that you are more confident in your talents. Moving in with your partner or getting married does not guarantee you will feel more secure in your relationship. Our confidence is based on our view of ourselves, and we can conclude that enhancing external, tangible areas of our lives will not inevitably boost confidence. This is, admittedly, a step up from merely assuming that you're self-assured and don't belong in the loser loop. External improvement, therefore, is not a long-term solution to the confidence problem.
They study articles on the top 50 things confident people do and then strive to emulate those behaviors. The only way to be truly confident is to simply become comfortable with what you lack. People who are secure in their relationships are secure because they are willing to be wounded. Those who are self-assured in business are unafraid of failure and understand that failing is a necessary part of learning how their market operates. Confident people aren't afraid of rejection since they don't mind if people don't like them as long as they are honest in their expressions. They aren't scared to be transparent and tell someone how they feel, even if it makes them uncomfortable (or leaving a relationship).
