I still think this purge influenced Julians conversion back to Paganism. Even though he was young at the time. Constantly being told your Christian Cousins slaughtered each other had to have some effect. And I'm not criticizing Christianity. It's Constatines sons that should be criticized for not living by the Christian morals taught by Jesus. Because they certainly did not have much brotherly love for each other! I enjoy ur videos on Roman history! Well done!

What you expect large Niceen Christian are in Roman Empire( Trinitarian ) who are Largely intolerant towards Polytheist , Jews & Heretic Christians and two of Constantine I Sons/ Successors are Arian Christian(Non-Trinitarian) Considered Heretics by Niceen Christian it will be bound of conflicts offcourse.

I find Constantine's heirs almost more interesting than the man himself, them as well as the pre-constantine tetrachy

Yes, constantine imo was boring. And kinda terrible for rome. His heirs, especially constantine II, and constans are interesting. Constantius being the longest reigning was the most interesting. Bur I do find his kin slaying terrible. He trapped himself by doing so.

Constantine, was the most egocentric person in history, second only to boxer George Foreman. Foreman named his sons, George I, George II, George III, George IV.

Many Roman just named their kids the same name but numbered. Then you get people called by their number like "Secunda." Constantine named the firstborn after his grandfather(Crispus), the 2nd after himself(Constantinus), the 3rd after his father(Constantius), and the last was Constans, possibly a new name. His first daughter was named Helena, and second daughter Constantina.

@@thucydideschannel was his advisors who suggested Byzantium as the place of the new capital, he suggested some place in Asia Minor, but I get your point. But just like theodosius, it was his religious views that made him seen as “the great” not because he was a great emperor like Trajan or Augustus, who unfairly are not known as greats
