The Contender! Is this the challenger to the Zeus and Hurricane? 

The board is a pretty well rounded board. The thing I like the most is the VESC. Is the first and only board I have with a VESC, and I am liking the customization options. I also really like the DKP trucks. Not sure if you are DKP guy or not, but make sure you tune them before hitting 27-30 mph! Thanks for the sub, view, and comment.

Ya, I bought an extra set of CNC 40T pulleys for the 120mm cloud wheels. They might add a little extra weight, but I like the mindset of them not cracking and breaking apart at 30 mph. I fully agree on the hex key. I ended up creating my own tool pack for the backpack. I noticed there are so many sizes of hex bots, nuts, etc, that the traditional skate tool just was not enough. The eSK8s open sooooo many avenues. Can not wait for next summer to roll around. I am trying to be a little more "snappy" as I had a couple people say I talk to slow. Never been accused of talking too little or to slow before. Maybe age is setting in. Thanks for the view and comment dude! Ride hard...ride safe!

Congrats man! I really do think you will like it. I like the board much better with 120 cloud wheels than the 175mm. I have not had a chance to try the 125mm rubber wheels yet. We just got five inches of snow, so I am going to say that riding is off for a little while. Update us on the 18th! Thanks for the view and comment.

@@biggycheese4597 Not sure if you were asking Thompson or me, so I am going to jump in and give an update. I have to admit, that I really like the Eovan GTS. Besides being one dope looking board, it really runs great. I am really liking the VESC and ability to customize the board. I have had the 120mm clouds, the 125mm rubber, and the 111mm Zoobombs on it so far. I have always been a DKP truck guy, but have had to cinch them down a little for better stability. The deck is just a little too flat for me, but not a huge deal breaker. I am curious as to how Thompson is liking his.

So, how are you liking the board? Kind of curious.

Good idea! I just tried that, but it felt like the remote was going to slip out the back of my hand. I am glad to hear someone else had an issue with it. Hopefully they will address that in the next version. I can over look the remote. The board is dope as hell! I love the color and I love the torque and speed. Range?...that will be okay if I can get at least 30 miles per charge. It is nothing for me to do 30-40 miles on a ride. Appreciate the view and comment.

I recently did the same comparisons as you, looked at so many different boards around that very same price range and my final decision was the Zeus; Ordered it 16 days ago, can't wait for it to arrive. A combination of great price, amazing range, good sized pneumatic wheels, impressive top speed and a very appealing design led me to the Zeus. Good luck on your choice :)

Hey dude! Right now, you really could not go wrong with either the Hurricane, GTS, or Zeus. They are very similar. I love my Zeus as I am a rider that loves to ride and hence wants that range. Plus it does have a great top speed and is a very good looking board. I do have to say though, that the GTS beats the Zeus out in overall looks (GTS is a GREAT looking board) and in torque. I believe if you selected the Zeus or the GTS (your top two choices), you would be happy and would really enjoy the rides. Let us know what your final decision is. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

@@esk8ooligan First, you most welcome...in the views, as well as comments...as you produce not only outstanding content, but also incredibly informative content. Truth be told, while I got back into RC a few years ago (after a 35+ year absence), I'm just getting back into skateboards (after a 40-45 year absence)...but, I'm really only interested in Esk8s. I did a lot of research before finally deciding on my first (albeit be 'budget') board, a Backfire G2 Black, and I absolutely love it. It's not super-fast, to not does it have a great range...but, it's lightweight (for an Esk8), and has enough speed & range to make it an outstanding "local runabout". For short-distance (ie. less then 10 miles) rides, I don't think there's anything better...but, for longer rides, that's why I narrowed y choices down to the three I selected as my 'finalists'. As for deciding between the Zeus, and it's "sister company" sibling -- the B-One TITAN Carbon -- the only 'problem' has been in finding any reviews (typed and/or video) on the TITAN. Many (appear to) know there's some sort of "direct connection" between Ownboard & B-One...but, as for what (specifically) that 'connection' is, no one can (or will) seem to state. In comparing these two boards (Zeus & TITAN), the only differences I've been able to determine are the battery pack capacity (898Wh Zeus vs 935Wh TITAN), the design/pattern of the grip tape, and what appears to be a few (very) minor differences in the trucks. Everything else appears to be 100% identical. If anyone knows of any other differences between these two, I'd GREATLY appreciate you letting me know.

Ya, dude, please do come back and update us on the pads. I am curious as to your thoughts on those. I'd like to have a little more drop for my feel to lean into on corners and braking. You know, ya, I am pissed about the Endeavor S and the battery, but overall, that board really is a technology marvel. I am working with a local battery guy to build me a better battery that will give me more range. Propel basically just washed their hands of it. They already had the money...what did they care? Ya, I love to skate and these boards are dope as hell. That summer riding helps me stay in shape for winder snowboarding. Looking forward to the update not the pads. Thanks for the view and comment. Hey man! Yes, I do wish the GTS had a little more of a nose and tail shoulder to dig your feet into. And I get what you are saying with the corner speed. At some point, I do want to do a DIY board, but am still collecting the best of the best in order to design my own. I do love skating, and I really love the new eboards. Hey man! I have a G3 with 105 clouds too. I do like that flex board. But once you go belt and more motor, the G3 kind of gets put aside. The off road tires really do suck the life out of a battery. That is one thing I have noticed. I run the 120mm cloud wheels on three of my boards. The others I run off-road or the 105 clouds. I will say this board is noisier. Let me explain. You do hear the motors more, but I kind of like that sound. Kind of like loving the sound of a popsicle board going of the sidewalk cracks and making that clack clack sound. This board is also a little noisier in other ways. I noticed a lot of thudding and popping. I think it is coming from the DKP trucks. I have checked them over, but don't see anything that would indicate an issue. The Hurricane has DKP trucks, but it does not make the same noises. Nothing bad, but the GTS is just a little noisier. The Zeus is just a quieter board...and I am running the 120s on it. If I had just one complain about the board, I would say it is that the deck is just a little too flat. Other than that, I really do not believe you could go wrong with this board. Nor could you go wrong with the Zeus. These are by far the top two boards of my collection. Hope that kind of helps. @@kbrown229 The Endeavor S is definitely louder than the GTS. All noise on the Endeavor S comes from the motors. Now, it is a sound that I like to hear as the motors wind up, but it is much louder (motorwise) than the GTS. Hope that helps. Ride hard…Ride safe.

I believe I referred to it as a twitchy start. The Propel Endeavor S has the Ling Yi ESC. (So does my Meepo Hurricane). The Ling Yi in the Endeavor S twitches or jerks when I start out...unless I through the full throttle to it immediately...which generally does now work out well for my body on the ground. The Meepo Hurricane has a Ling Yi, but it is much more smooth on starts as I believe it has been tuned a little better. Hope that answers your question.

All depends upon the terrain you plan to take on and the gearing ratio you want. I do find myself using the 155mm a lot. I do have other off-road wheels, but keep going back to the 155’s. I bought my cloud wheels directly from iwonder. They had a special at the time. I am finding that I really like the GTS the more and more I ride it. Has to be respected though with those DKT. It and the Hurricane has thrown me a couple times. Ride hard…carve safe…and have a great day.

@@denisgomez1555 The GTS threw me because of a brake adjustment. I have those DKT pretty well dialed in. The Hurricane actually threw me yesterday due to speed wobbles, but I don’t have it dialed in yet. Still obviously a little loose for my liking.

what makes you prefer the hurricane over the eovan? the eovan is currently a few hundred bucks cheaper, has a bigger battery, has better wheels, has better top speed, and has better customizability. it also has torque so powerful, I haven't seen a single person be able to use it properly. the hurricane only has a better battery as far as I'm aware, but with less range

@@pixel6173 honestly i took a look at it and the specs of the hurricane were superior, i know that its a very good all-round board, when i went to the eovans website i didnt see better specs, there has been no board i have seen to beat the hurricane in terms of tourque, but hey take this with a grain of salt because maybe the eovan is better Im still gonna go for a hurricane its just my preference

to summarize the specs of the Eovan VS Hurricane: Range: Eovan is slightly better Eovan: 852 Wh vs. Meepo: 752 Wh (meepo has no battery sag though, that is their advantage.) Speed (in mph): Eovan takes it as well topping in at a top speed of 37 stock and 44 on better setup. Meepo comes in at 35 stock and 41 with better wheels and belts Parts: Eovan takes it imo. they have custom designed their boards from the ground up, including the wheels. the VESC esc is also vastly superior to Meepo. Meepo has an amazing deck though. but the rest of the parts used aren't the most high end. Torque: Eovan wins off the line, but Meepo eventually catches up. I'd say its equal the Eovan has such insane torque (and it can be tuned to go higher), that no one I know can even stay standing as it launches. the Hurricane is slower in comparison. the Hurricane has no power sag though, so its torque all the way. this allows the Hurricane to reel the Eovan back in after a while and lastly: customer support and shipping times.. Eovan wins again by a biiig margin. Meepo just has quite frankly got poor customer support and terrible shipping. Eovan is a lot better in my experience. the Hurricane is simply an amazing board though. so I totally understand why you'd choose it over the Eovan. the battery is most definitely superior on the Hurricane though, apart from range. and it looks sweet. but for me personally, I cant justify spending an extra 400~$ for a board so similar in performance.

"Range Anxiety"...dude, that is great. I am seeing a whole new vocab coming out of eSK8ing. Range Anxiety...Foot Fatigue...Sexy Board...etc. And, ya, this is a Sexy Board!! I agree with you. I love the Zeus for the range. I am anxious to get the GTS out on a warm day and run that battery through some paces. I do like speed. I have a serious need for speed. Thanks for the view and post.

@@esk8ooligan Yesir.. But tk have a board with top speed 37.. And range over 30 easy!! And price under 2k.. Cant beat that with a stick! Alot of these companies get u with that "Up to" range stuff...im HONESLTY tired of the lies.. I would honestly be ok with my lycaon trx 2.0 if the range was what they said it was. But its not.. Torque is there tho for sure in speed mode 4.. But ur only getting about 15miles out of it if ur riding it like it's stolen.

@@torion29able It'll help you get there faster! Just kidding man...I get what you mean. I love speed, but I like to ride longer. That is why I love my Zeus. Gives me 35-40 miles per charge. Guess all those hours at the skatepark are now transitioning to hours on the eSK8. Either way, I am on a board.

@@esk8ooligan I can't even imagine 30 to 40 miles on a skateboard.. Furthest I've gone was 22.. But im anxious to see how it does. Even if I can get 25 on at wheels im happy.
