Hey there my friend, well thank you ever so much! I have to say I think that this was one of my favourite interviews. The philosophical depth of Language, and moving into Clairvoyant, is incredibly profound. Both are among my favorite albums. Great to hear Michael talk about the dual concepts here.
@TheMetalTris
@TheMetalTris 6 лет назад
Hey Heinrick192! Man I can't agree with you more. There's so much depth on both records that I feel that even if you're listening to it for the bajillionth time, you'll still hear some form of nuance you might not have before, discover a new melody or a new lyric but simultaneously none of is overbearing! Its absolutely fantastic. Thanks so much for watching and I hope that you enjoyed the interview :)
@Heinrick192
@Heinrick192 6 лет назад
For sure! I've been listening to Language close to everyday for years now, and I just found out that the ending guitar melody during the "Ebb and flow" section of Language I and II is at the end of Primordial Sound, which is referenced in Language II's lyrics. The idea of the ebb and flow of modes of being is highlighted throughout the album lyrically, of course, but I didn't realize there was a musical motif that reappeared as well. I honestly think Language is one of the greatest albums ever written.

Big love for Ethan! My best friend passed away in November and there are so many questions I never got to ask. The Contortionist really help when it comes to putting those broken pieces together, trying to make sense of it all. He always had issues with drugs, he passed away near enough on his birthday at the age of 29. I spend a lot of my time trying to work out what went wrong and just coping with this surreal amalgamation of emotions and unanswered questions. Clairvoyant's lyrics help me a lot at times like these, to make some sense of the chaos. For that, I'll always be grateful.

Hey there James, I think that is one of the beauty's of lyrics is that we can really attribute anything to them at the end of the day and you're probably right, you related to that at that time and that's what you kind of pertained the lyrics to mean. And I remember meeting this dude in the bathroom of NV Nightclub in Knoxville. I'll never forget it, because It was my first seeing periphery live. Even got to shake hands with Nolly. Anyway, I was leaving the bathroom and he was walking in. I stopped him and was trying to tell him that I liked the band he came from and was really happy that he joined my favorite band, the contortionist. But I couldn't remember the band he came from and I started stammering. Made me look like a fake fan, or a bandwagon whore. Kinda sucked. It got awkward really quick and he just turned around and started walking away lol. I turned around and left the bathroom, realizing I blew it. Lol. Anyway. I still think he's a cool dude, and he's a musical inspiration. Hope he reads this so this can kinda make up for me being an idiot years ago. It's Not everyday you meet one of your heroes and get a chance to thank them for their work.

Mind and Spirit Oh man don’t think of that encounter as you being an idiot and not a ‘true’ fan. I speak to loads of artists and there have been times where I have fucked up because you’re only human! I think I once accidentally called the drummer of Psycroptic the bloody singer. And he was in front of me Hahahah! Point is, you got to see one of your favourite frontmen and have a chat with him :) that’s awesome! Also thank you so much for checking the video out. I hope you enjoyed it! And speaking of bathroom stories, I was at this awards thing and I went to the toilet, had a wee and then who comes in but Sam from Architects hahaha! Had a chat with him and made some terrible joke but it’s all part of the experience man :). Take care my friend

Lol!! I can relate. Once met one of the guitarists of BTBAM and called him the other guitarists name. Felt like such an idiot because any other moment, i knew the difference between the two. Years later i commented on one of his IG posts telling the story. He replied with a laugh and a short/sweet response
