When this album was release, Tosin Abasi from Animals As Leaders said on his facebook page that he was not able to listen to something else at this moment. So, I gave it a try... The Contortionist is one of my favorite band ever, now. Even been enough lucky to see them live in a bar (!!!) somewhere in The Netherlands. Magic moment ! Thanks for this one, guys. Peace !
Exoplanet is one of my favorite albums of all time. Perfect blend of heavy and melodic for my taste. Plus, the fact it's a concept album bumps it up a lot
Hell yeah you guys. I knew that bass drop was gonna blow it up for you. Such a great album. really good concept album where you pick up pieces from the other songs throughout.
You should also watch the "Rediscovered" live version on your own. Here are some bands that deserve your attention : Tesseract - Concealing Fate (live) Entheos - Inverted Earth /Sunshift (live)
I was going to see The Contortionist, Haken, and Devin Townsend. COVID shut everything down literally a few hours before the show started. I was psyched to see DT and Haken, but TC is probably my favorite band and I still have yet to see them live.
Loving you guys with these reactions!! Especially the Opeth and Porcupine Tree ones. Your reactions are awesome. Much respect to you. All the way from Scotland 🏴 🤘
How beautifully they encapsulated dualtiy into the title track(s) of this concept album is just unreal. This band is sp special ❤ over a decade later and this record still gives me chills. Joey Baca is literally one and only on drums. Playing his grooves have always been an out of body experience for me. On old and new stuff. Cameron and Joey's brother on guitar too? Oooo 🤤 perfect blend of tech metal and post rock. Lessard's range on vocals is god tier as well
I introduced this band to my wife and at the time my girlfriend and she absolutely loves them, they are our favorite metal band. I am a huge metal fan and I've introduced a lot of bands to her and they are by far her favorite
The Contortionist is a band that I cannot get enough of. And their name is a good fit for them, as each 4 albums are so different. But the thing that remains the same with these albums is that feeling of being weightless and getting lost in the beautiful music. I HIGHLY recommend checking out more from them. They don’t get enough recognition Monochrome(Passive) Monochrome(Pensive) Clairvoyant The center Thrive Primordial Sound The Parable Holomovement Feedback loop Causality Geocentric Confusion Anatomy Anomalies Flourish Contact Primal Directive Vessel Oscillator
The Contortionist is such a great band. Really good live shows too. Check out Dreaming Schematics or Feedback Loop for some heavy jazz, or anything off of Exoplanet next.
finally, I've been waiting for so long to see this band in this channel. Appreciate it so much! Check all the songs in this album if you want to experience some chills yet groovy.
The Contortionist is one of my favorite bands! They put on the best live show I have ever seen!. I came across your channel from some Meshuggah and had to see what you thought about these guys. Ya'all are an awesome couple! Keep up the good work!
First time listening to this, I was camping with some friends and some fungus 🍄. It was one of the most intense experiences I’ve ever had. This album will always be in my top favorites.
Haven’t made it 6 seconds into the reaction yet but you must know - truly one of the most important bands for rock and metal. I love when the rhythm section wins and this band is our champion.
WE ARE EXISTENCE! Man I was so close to seeing these guys open for Haken and Devin Townsend in 2020. But it was the week shutdowns began. P.S. New Porcupine Tree single out 'Of the New Day' 🤘
I flew from London to Sweden to see Tesseract and found out that these guys were playing as the supporting act. I was so pumped for the gig, but then got lost on the way to the venue and missed like 90% of The Contortionist's set lol. I was so pissed.
Puscifer - “Grand Canyon” (Live from Hall of Feathered Serpents) “”Personal Prometheus / A Singularity” (Live at Arcosanti) “Bedlamite” (Live at Arcosanti)
"Our vision's detrimental to progressing". The physical plane is everything to us, and it clouds the ability to think with intuition. Hence, we should look inward more and stop acting and reacting based off what we see and nothing else. An imperceptible amount of existence is beyond this physical plane and what our receptors take in.
When 6 well rounded musicians can get together and incorporate a wide array of influences into one sound. The chemistry also needed as a unit to be open minded enough to take criticism well and be flexible as far as writing is concerned. Ya know stuff big record labels doesnt give a shit about.
It's been a minute and I've looked around, so I'm guessing no one / not to many people have mentioned the band The Dear Hunter to you? Check "The Bitter Suite 1 & 2" from the album Act II: The Meaning Of, & All Things Regarding Ms. Leading (I believe there was a proposed 6 Acts and I think to this point they've finished 5. And in between full albums dedicated to this series they did a ton of other music. Crazy prolific and crazy good. Check it.
How about some mOReBit Culture. They're working on new stuff and you guys barely touched their best two albums Nija and Redfog. Maybe one of their different sounding ones: Behold.
This band never has a complete song. The intro to Language 1 is so good. And the song is so good for a few minutes before falling off the cliff of mediocrity.
