That's good, I agree with the plastic commander. He has good taste. Usually kids are into all sorts of fantasy and sci fi stuff. I collect soldiers based on real history and armies. I'm getting a hoard of BMC army men worth over £240!!!!
2 Christmases ago I got 2 large bags of army men, they were my favourite presents. I spend pretty much all my spare cash on army men. In the past 4 years I've spent close to £4000 on army men from BMC toys, their just my thing. I also collect police action figurines and even have a security guard in my hoard!!!!
I hope you have good luck at your new home! At my last place I used to see orbs of light whizzing around my room and they would bang in my face and wake me up!!!! I saw all sorts of bizarre stuff there, but no-one believes me!!!!
@@Jjgm69 Well, you would be the first to believe me. Everyone else was of the opinion I was making up stories for attention. I saw tonnes of unusual things there, I even had a visitor who told me to "Wake up you have a parcel!" who "Didn't exist!" I even saw things move around for no reason too!!!!
Ive been enjoying your videos for a few weeks now as lately I've gotten hooked on collecting plastic army men from various eras and makers. I thought myself a little weird to be in my 30s and into it- but am enjoying it so thouroughly ive since come to understand that if something brings you joy and engages your (memories and imagination, which I feel far too many adults lost in the drudgery of life lose connection with), then its a good thing. While some may call it childish, regressive or stupid, I've learned to simply not care, and enjoy what makes me happy. Your content and insights on things are genuinely interesting and its satisfying to be validated in seeing others enjoying these things equally as much and having a lot to say about them. Rambly, wordy post but give me a break. TLDR- good stuff, good job, and ill keep on watching.
Hell yeah man, thanks for watching. It’s not weird especially these days when you have so many people into toys like Lego and action figures. Toys are a whole new market now and I think most people want at least one or two things that reconnect them with their childhood.
@theplasticcommander That is true - a couple friends of mine are actively into LEGO mock builds and collecting, and in general, it seems a lot more people have taken to nostalgia based hobbies. That's a good thing I think because it generates interest, increases demand for products, and consequently we've gotten some pretty cool " reissues" lately.
Its funny you mention the starship troopers inspiration because that first figure you hold up is based on a micro machines figure that came with their starship troopers stuff and im not 100% sure the figure was original to galoob or not.
Nice video. I git a few of the corps sets myself i like the long box ones bc the top of the container is a little base for the reds tans and/or greens depending on the color top you get.
I will be getting my BMC hoard on Tuesday, I hade to pay a £51.15 customs charge on top of what I've already paid!!!! I've spent something like £300 on this order all together, goy blimey will I be pleased to finally get my package when it's delivered through the post!!!!
I may be setting up my own army men channel soon, if my dad can find my video recorder that is. He tends to throw my stuff out like he did with my beloved computer all those years ago.
