This scene will forever be a classic, epic moment in tv history. I remember watching this episode the night it aired brand new....me and my sister were screaming laughing....we loved this so much!!!!
Approximately 53 million people tuned in to watch this iconic episode, rated #54 on the Top 100 Sitcom Episodes of All Time by TV Guide magazine in 1997.
You know what? I was always a fan of Bill Cosby. It broke my heart to find out he did the things he did. The Cosby Show was, is, and always will be one of the best shows on television.
Agreed. Cosby betrayed his fans and his community by preaching one thing while doing another. I will still always respect The Cosby Show for its wholesome television fun, but it's very difficult to watch Bill Cosby himself these days.
Rudy (Keshia Knight Pulliam) just kills in this number ... they all were great ... But she us so adorable. Always loved her acting on this show ... and so young ... Classic TV moment this scene was ...
Can we take a moment to appreciate how "FIIINNNE" Ms. Phylicial Rashad a.k.a. "Clair Huxtable was back in the day?! A mother of 5 kids, one in college, a lawyer, and a wife of a pediatrician! After having 5 kids, still had Body to bring Men to their Knees!!!
Really? That’s who the female lead was? Thank you so much for that information! Her voice has so much strength that her impact brings even more brilliance and impact to a perfect song. Sorry if I come off as naive, but I genuinely never knew who she was. I’m so grateful to know now. I’ll definitely do more diligent research and find out what else she’s done in her lifetime. I just can’t get over that soul and emotion she puts into this one song. Just incredible!
1:28 my mum showed me this scene and man when i saw bill cosby making those faces while he is singing night time is the right time by ray charles i can't keep a straight face i literally burst out laughing he is a classic bit upset about the things i heard he done i didn't think he would do a horrible thing
I remember watching this when it first aired on tv. My own folks' marriage was in the doghouse and I loved this show. It was a safe space. How rotten to find out the lie that it was for Lisa Bonet and other women who were in this man's sphere. What a >>>> thing to do.
The Cosby's gave me HOPE of a good life in AMERICA. I LOVED THIS SHOW, and Black people should be so proud of this portrayal of WHAT LIFE COULD HAVE BEEN without the INFLUENCE OF DRUGS (ILLEGAL that are now legal) and GUNS. THANK YOU COSBY FAMILY! IT "IS" A BEAUTIFUL DREAM!
Or perhaps what life would be like with more two-parent families, which would better protect children from drugs and guns, both of which are sadly not new.
Not ALL Black Americans were affected by drugs, guns, violence, poverty, incarceration, unemployment, uneducated, bad interracial marriages, etc. ONLY about 32% of Black Americans were affected by the horrific “PLAGUES” of America. The remaining 67% are middle-class, upper-middle class, upper-class, and upper-upper class and we are doing just fine. Our families are wealthy, suburban living, mansion owners, college educated (3+ generations), privately schooled, sorority/fraternity legacies, generational wealth, vast portfolios, property owners/investors, married with families. We are the American Dream!
Clair played his age on the show but Phylicia Rashad was 11 years younger. Sabrina LeBeauf (Sondra) played younger. When she premiered on the show Sondra was 20, Sabrina was 26.

Yes! Jail the prostitutes who blamed him for them not getting paid. I listened to many of those women and got disgusted. They knew what was happening and kept going back...Why? Because they wanted paid one way or another. It doesn't matter if it's $1 or $1000, if you expect something for sex you are a hooker. Hollywood is known for it.
0:49 can someone tell me her name please she is so adorable and hilarious I know she is lip syncing to the song but I bet if she sang that part without lip syncing I totally bet she would have done very well 😂😂😂
