Saving a dog is a sublime act of compassion and love well rewarded time upon time.

What a blessed little pup that will find her forever home at Bealtine Cottage.

My beloved dog departed this world almost two weeks ago and the house has never been so lonely. I remember when Jack left us all bereft. Good luck in your search for a wee lass. They do brighten our days, no matter how we are feeling.

Jack was so beloved, and still is,. BB.

Glad you are feeling better and glad your son is giving you a hand occasionally! What good supporting children you have. Very happy to hear you are ready to share Bealtaine with a canine soul. Jack will be well pleased with the decision. ❤️

I have been looking back over old videos of Jack.. Especially love the one where he's doing zoomies while you are trying to narrate. You end up laughing heartedly at his mad antics as he totally steals the show... 🐾🐾

How I miss seeing Jack running around your land but it will be great to see you with a new companion in due time. :) Another dog that needs the love and care that can be found in Bealtaine Cottage. ❤

Just imagine if every person on this earth had your kind heart and soul. What a world that would be. X

I have a sneaky suspicion that some of our four -legged companions are really members of the 2000 angels who are promised to protect us. These ones are never far away, but just looking for a way to incarnate with us soon! I have no doubt in my heart that those pieces of our hearts will be in our arms again. We sometimes "find them," but they ALWAYS find us. Blessed Be, dear ones!

I am so happy to hear you are looking to find a new companion to fill your home with love. We all loved Jack and grieved along with you when you lost him. Pets add so much joy to our lives and give us unconditional love. I know you will eventually find your wonderful companion that will accompany you on your walks in the garden because Jack will send her. 💕

I can’t believe it’s more than a year since Jack passed. Time flies. What a lucky little companion your new dog will be,to share such a joyful life with you. We rescued 2 little girls this year, both a delight ❤❤ Blessings x

Its lovely to hear you are looking for another dog, Our Paddy passed away around the time Jack left you, we found our new girl at a shelter she was a bit chaotic at first only 6 months old but she has settled in great and we love the joy she brings so i hope your girl comes to you soon. I am so happy that you are starting to look for a new little dog companion. When my dog started her ascent to dogheaven I used to count to the lake ( her favorite place around here) and look up to the sky and imaging the slow flight to her destination. It helped me in my sadness I decided that when I started to get used to her being gone that meant that she had arrived and Icould start to look at the shelters for a new friend. It probably sounds really crazy, so be it. As it were I found a dog at the spa right away. My husband said he was not ready,but I persevered and he loves her just as much as I do.

So glad you are looking to rescue another dog. Some little lady is about to get the best home. My big beautiful Monkey (a black tom) died this afternoon after having a massive stroke. Only 8yrs old. It is heartbreaking when they leave us but I will rescue another in his memory. Being outside and gardening really is good for depression and lifting ones spirits.Good look with the search for a new companion cannot wait to meet them.

Hello Colette, Your film has brought me back to my teenage years and life in my bedsit. Wonderful days (well mostly). It was your kitchen radio brought me back as I was given a similar one. I loved listening to discussions, current affairs, comedy panel shows and the odd play, most annoyed me with the over the top acting, anyway I loved that radio along with my music magazines and of course, Spare Rib magazine. Fond memories. I am delighted to hear that you are looking for a furry friend. I lost my wee Piper when she ran across the road and it still hurts tremendously after eight years. Beautiful film. I am so happy to hear you have started the journey of looking for a new furry friend. They are such grand company among other things. You'll know the one when you see her. ❤

I have a slope like that in my front yard. I have 4 very large maple trees in the front yard and the roots are starting to grow above ground. Can make walking a bit of a challenge especially with snow on the ground. My daughter had some friends come to cut down some tree branches that were hanging against the house and they couldn't understand why I wanted them piled for a wild area. I have a few rabiits here along with the birds and squirrels and chipmunks. Even saw a beautiful fox walking in the back yard. They make me so happy to see.

Lovely to hear your relaxing voice again. I smiled when you said Stanley Stove during the video as until a couple of months ago my befuddled mind thought you had given it an alliterative name along with Kelly Kettle. I was half expecting to hear you talk about Timmy Table, Bertha Bed, Diana Doors, Sidney Settee etc, 😂. As I said totally befuddled!!! Glad to hear you're on the mend. Have a wonderful 2023.

Like you, I have been unwell all over the last couple of weeks, with a cold and hacking cough, and I only go out to walk my dog, so how I got this, I do not know?! I tested for Covid, but it was negative. Hope you are feeling a lot better now Colette? As all of us on here feel, I am sure, along with you, the loss of Jack just over a year ago now. I so hope that you find your beautiful girl at a rescue centre, to fill your heart with love an joy. I tell my black rescue greyhound Madge, all about my beloved Charlie dog, whom I lost over 3 years ago now - as with the lovely Jack, he will never be forgotten. But she is a different girl to cherish, just as you will when you find that special one. My front bit of garden I have, looks rather sad at the moment, as it snowed here a few weeks back, and then has been raining ever since, down in Devon, England! So the hanging baskets have all gone over now, and need to be recycled. Love and Blessings to you. xxx

Thank you Colette for another great video and so glad to hear you're feeling better. My mum,who is 84, tested for covid two weeks ago then I tested positive too. Thank goodness mum got over it great, I did however have to keep a distance from my grandchildren but we went for walks in the great outdoors. Hi Colette. I still miss Jack, like I do still miss my dog Pearl, she died on April 21st 2016 the same day as Prince.

Colette i have followed your youtube offerings for 3 years now and apart from a long standing want to do as you have done at Bealtaine, somehow keeping up with your progression has 'seen me through'. I'm a man 56, looking at my life! Have grown up in farmland 10 miles from Glasgow similar to where you are then at 19 to Glasgow city where my mother's family came from. I lived in Glasgow till shortly before the pandemic when i moved to the rural Scottish borders. I've now been in Belfast the last month as Ireland has always drawn me - the grandparents were of Irish background, Belfast. Fermanagh and Donegal on the west coast. A result of Irish moving to Glasgow a century ago. I'm back in Scotland for New Year but already feel the draw to return to Ireland which I'll do in a week's time. I've felt this definite urge to live in Ireland since I was a child, no one else in my living family that I know of felt it. Already after a month living and working in Belfast I feel at home. I have Irish background of course but i read regular comments on your channel about similar feelings. I haven't watched the entire video yet but gather you must have talked of your late dog. He was certainly a presence. I'm heading back to Belfast next week after New Year and somehow trying to settle. Thanks for your videos, they touch a lot of people. Gordon McPhail

Nice to see you up and about. I have several feeders out this time of year. I have to clamp on my snow shoes to get to them but well worth the effort. I also have a heated bird bath which they all seem to enjoy. Take care.

Hi Dear Woman of the Garden! I love it that you have cooked up the peas and pasta for the birds! I don't think many people know that Birds LOVE PASTA, without the Tomatoe Sauce! I had some left over Wheat Pasta that I was going to just put in the garbage but, then my intuition suggested I give it to the Birds. When I thought about that it made total sence. They love bread, so they would love pasta. OMG...they gobbled it up fast and were thrilled with it. Glad you are feeling better. An applewood fire! Lovely. The right dog is a gift from God. I almost wrote "a good dog " but every dog is a good dog. But one needs a dog who fits into your life. I looked for my dog for a year or two. I happened upon an adoption event, saw her and it was love at first sight.

Oh! It's wonderful to see you feeling better and out and about! I too, have been laid up; but with an unexpected head injury. I was so grateful to be able to get outside today and work in the yard. It is 57! degrees here today. Last week, with the windchill it was 20 below and snow!! Love the Rosemary.
