This video shows the countries of Europe when historically, any predecessors that controlled the most land for that country.

The predecessors of countries can be open to interpretation. Some pre modern kingdoms or empires shown didn't necessarily have a flag as we think of it today either.

Errors:
Russia at it's largest extent, the USSR, should not have Istanbul.
North Macedonia's largest extent should be right now, not the Macedonian Empire.
Greece's largest extent should be the Macedonian Empire, not the Byzantine Empire.

Keep in mind I'm still working on my other projects. This video also only takes territory in Europe only into consideration. Yes, I know the UK, France, etc. had bigger colonial empires, but I showed what they control in Europe. Mistakes: Macedon was not slavic The Soviet Union should not have Istanbul

@@azulafan1512 I took the Capetian flag (france before 1372) and made the background red because it was a common color for those kings to wear. (the color of their robe. the capetians and valois would wear blue. )I also thought that this image: www.honga.net/totalwar/attila/images/attila/flags/lombards/mon_256.png was a possible flag, but now I'm not sure if it's real.

The Soviet Union occupied much of Europe at the conclusion of WW2, which is why I didn't show the Russian Empire.

@@GeographyandSpace wait... So in this case America's greatest extent is in 1945 were they controled Northern France, Italy, West Germany, Denmark, Norway and all of North Africa! Wow that would be huge!!!
