I suppose this is why we call it `Popular' music. Because everyone knows the feeling she's expressed here. Both men and women know how this feels. Delores is saying; You're not alone. Music becomes the context for shared experience. I truly miss her voice. And I want to hear her sing in Heaven. 💔💔
I'd say this song would have been Delores favourite song . I was listening to her being interviewed a few years ago & she referd to this song from an experience she'd went through as a mid teen in her hometown! On the weekends she & her mate would go to the local hop / dance at the weekend. Her & her mate were at the dance one night looking around for the cool guys when she noticed this lad whom she fancied. Her & her mate chatted about him & suddenly he appeared in front of them & asked Delores up for a dance, they were together for the rest of the night & the guy left her home later, she'd fallen in love with him. Excited throughout the week for the weekend dance, she planned for the following night what to wear. She & her friend were excited & looking forward to the dance. They arrived early, but no sign of her guy, she waited n waited n he finally arrived. She & her friend were sitting in the same place as last week, so her guy would see her. Finally they spotted him walking towards where they were sitting Delores was all excited, he appeared before them & asked Delores friend up to dance & she accepted. Delores was shattered n gutted over what had happened, Her friend & her Heartthrob were dancing & kissing the night away as poor Delores left the dance! The interviewer asked Delores ' Did you ever see him again" Delores laughed n said no, but I got a great song from the experience. True story!
The Cranberries are such a powerful, anointed soft rock group. I appreciate all the insightful commentary listed here. It is not just Delores although she is the focal point
The 3 guys made a definitive choice when they picked Delores to front the band. We may never have heard of them if they chose differently. And, bless them for not going on as The Cranberries after her passing. She was truly special.
Unique n Brilliant yes that's Unique Brilliance .. Untouchable...watch n learn u today mega stars who have to lipsink cause a concert is too tiring for Amateurs 😂😂😂🎉🎉
Come on Pat, get back in the game. This song is worth getting married for. I've seriously developed an addiction to this song. I play it on my harp, I've listened to all the versions. I'm in so deep.
I was surprised with my 12 year old daughter she like this and i was asking why you know that song she replied she just heard and was happy she like it she had a good taste of music
When you like someone but he/ her takes advantage of you cause you are a such fool for that person! That's not fair but it's the life, and I just hope people don't let a one side love takes away their self-esteem and make them give up on their own lives because of others. They need to find a way to figure out what they can do to bring their own happiness again depending no one.
Ugh, I cringed when she said "this is a very old one...about 11 years old now," because (I'm guessing) this was filmed about 6 years ago, so that makes the song about 17 years old. Yipes. I remember it like it was yesterday. Sure doesn't feel like it's been 17 years. Still probably my favorite song ever.
