This song is magical. Idk what it is but something about it makes me feel like there is some kind of wonder and magic in it. It makes me feel like a child again, like I am falling in love even without knowing what it feels like to fall in love, like imagining being in a garden and dancing around with the fairies. Pure, sweet, nostalgic magic.
yeah this song is magical. The melodies is nothing like I've ever heard and it almost sounds like it's from another world. Usually most songs sound similar to each other because they all influence each other but this song has so much originality in it
I fell in love for the first time when this song came out and it always will remind me of those days, lying in the park, talking and kissing and feeling like nothing in the world is better than this. Being so overwhelmed with one person, dying to see them, to be with them all the time. This song will always remind me of my first love, how wonderful those days were. Of course it ended, and I was heartbroken for a long, long time, but looking back all these years later, I was so lucky to have that amazing time, a time I will never, ever forget.
It's a Celtic thing...Basque, Breton etc always use this technique to add harmony to a song when perhaps only they only had a "Bodrun" small drum to give rhythm... I study Celt and Gaelic music and think this is it...go further north like N. Norway, Iceland etc and is even more pronounced, with Samis and so on..Anyway it's just my theory
The Cranberries are a band that deserve more credit than they actually get. Their music helped define the 90's and Dolores has one of the greatest voices of our time. Their chemistry is magical!
They received mutiple awards across the charts, been num 1 on multiple countries on their releases, she was awarded like 14 platinum certifications, was considered the best Irish female singer. Everybody knows the cranberries. I dont get these "underrated band" or " not enough recognition " comments. They had gaps of 7 years whilst still playing between records and tours, and there were always a place for them in the industry.
She is so laid back and "normal" in an "Irish" snese. She is up there with the best of them. Stevie Nicks, Lady Gaga, Cyndi Lauper, Tina Turner. Such a unique talent. We are proud of her.
You are not...... I break every time I hear Linger, because the first time I heard it I was with someone special .... Rest in peace Delores..... We love you....... and miss you
I loved someone so deeply, just once in my life. I'll never feel it again, a tragedy. To have this song to help me remember those days, is truly a blessing.
I fell in love with her singing years ago when I was in law school. I thought, who is this Irish girl with the most beautiful singing voice I ever heard. This was always one of my favorites. So sad such a beautiful voice and woman was taken from the world.
Dolores was victimized like many Irish women by a corrupt society but she still carried the Anointing as her songs still give me chills. God will bring her back soon! The Cranberries display the talents that we Irishmen cultivate
If you If you could return Don't let it burn Don't let it fade I'm sure I'm not being rude But it's just your attitude It's tearing me apart It's ruining everyday I swore I swore I would be true And honey, so did you So why were you holding her hand? Is that the way we stand? Were you lying all the time? Was it just a game to you? But I'm in so deep You know I'm such a fool for you You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ah ah Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to, do you have to let it linger? Oh, I thought the world of you I thought nothing could go wrong But I was wrong I was wrong If you If you could get by trying not to lie Things wouldn't be so confused And I wouldn't feel so used But you always really knew I just wanna be with you And I'm in so deep You know I'm such a fool for you You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ah ah Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to, do you have to let it linger? And I'm in so deep You know I'm such a fool for you You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ah ah Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to, do you have to let it linger? You know I'm such a fool for you You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ah ah Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to, do you have to let it linger?
This is such a beautiful song... One of the most beautiful, thank you Dolores for such a masterpiece been feeling down on life lately. It’s music like this helps a bit when you’re sad, continue to Rest In Peace always...✨🙏🏾🌼
@@Dicko1 Thank you kindly I’m trying, ya know. One day at a time, I appreciate your kind and caring feedback.❤️🩹🙏🏾🥺 I’m going to add it again to my playlist along with the now sadly late Sinead O’ Connor.
Imagine, for a moment, someone, virtually anyone, covering this song? Even the most accomplished voices in music. Delores was that rare, tone, timbre, incredible Irish accent. I shudder at the thought. Perfect intersection of the song and unique voicing of the singer. Miss you, beautiful artist.
The organic synergy of the panning camera, the medley of faces, the undiluted art and vocal mastery, the very human gestures and interplay of expressions and a sense of what I call artist-audience presence....this life performance speaks direct to the soul. "DONT LET IT BURN. DON'T LET IT FADE..."If I were an alien (as in E.T), I COULD SPEND A LIFE TIME STUDYING THIS VIDEO...FROM EVERY CONCEIVABLE ANGLE. EDIT: 👽
I didn't know she had passed away. That breaks my heart. This song completely captures the way that I feel about a certain woman, incredible that the Cranberries were able to capture that with such a simple song.
RIP dear Dolores. It was just a huge bless for me to know and feel your music. We Koreans loved you and we will keep you on our hearts. 알게 되어 정말 감사한 음악이었습니다. 명복을 빕니다.
This is someone expressing thier soul. Earlier versions you can see the hurt from her heart . God bless her . From me to you girl from one of many who still loves you .Brian ♥️
I'm amazed at how incredible her voice is every single time I hear it. I read her bio, and she was singing before she could talk. She didn't just come from nowhere. It's impossible not to know it's her singing if you know her at all. There's a part of the video showing the drummer's reaction apparently to the tone and octave changes in her voice. He just smiles (with her) seemingly at knowing how incredibly she sings.
Only someone that has lived through good and bad times can put words together like this. Still can't believe Dolores is gone. Miss you so much girl but your music shall live on., 🎵
This world is hard for people of such beauty.....I'm thankful I grew up with so many that have departed....When my time comes I'll be in good company...looking forward to it..See you on the other side! :)
My song to my ex...18 more days after our divorce, and it would've been our 26th wedding anniversary... The words to this song... "Oh, I thought the world of you. I thought nothing could go wrong, but I was wrong, I was wrong...And I'm in so deep, you know I'm such a fool for you, you've got me wrapped around your finger, do you have to, do you have to, do you have to let it linger." Such a heartbreaking song that fits my broken heart. R.I.P Dolores... No more pain, no more heartaches.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Está canción me hace sentir muy bien y ver a Dolores cantar es simplemente hermoso. Ella nunca morirá, mientras siga escuchando a The Cranberries. Thanks!
Jan 11/2023...56yrs old...life is so short...fragile...one bad choice...one decision...taking a step to the right vs to the left...her voice, now, brings deep pain to my heart due to she reminds me of my 2 daughters with respect to their facial expressions, how beautiful they are, how sweet but shit happens...and Dad is not with them to protect them...I collapsed recently and was within seconds of dying according to all the specialists after being hit with a massive heart attack...can tell by my avatar pic...that's me...I don't look 56yrs old and thought was in decent shape....scares me to death to think about my kids becoming overwhelmed with life as I have...her story is truly tragic...
