So we picked up this Land Rover Discovery 2 TD5 the other day for pretty cheap , we've spent the last few videos getting it ready to become an off-roading beast, now we still have a lot more modifications to do to the Land Rover but in the last episode we took it out on a little test run and it did a lot better than I expected.. so today we are putting the Land Rover td5 discovery a bit more through its paces and we are joining another off roading group and going into the welsh mountains!
These are some of the craziest off roading green lanes I have ever seen! What a crazy day! this video had to be a two-parter!

have you checked if your transfer box has centre diff lock ? some early model d2s had diff lock without the lever

Disco's do have a tendency to break diffs when offroading that's why they where saying that, great vid by the way!!

Do you guys use the patrols over there. They are unreal offroad with some mud tires and diff locks. Also they can handle so much abuse the running gear has to be the toughest out there. Not running the landrovers down I had a v8 shorty and enjoyed it when it was running but the patrols you could drive across a mine field and still come out the other side.

You will find wheel bearings, diffs & prop donuts are the main things you will chew through. Prop Doughnuts will wear regardless when off-road. With big wheels & tyres that will wear your wheel bearings quicker. Diffs just off-roading. If you go any bigger than a 2 inch lift wide angle props would be a good idea too 👍

Lee because your disco 2 is an early production one it may have a CDL as Landrover used all the surplus transfer box's from the disco 1's it just needs connecting up

Id say she does have diff lock on the transfer box, a lot of the early d2s did they just don't have the diffflock leaver, my 99 d2 was like that anyway, be worth checking out

"I love Wales". Then proceeds to trash it. Class. No respect at all for the lanes, locals or the landowners. Arrogant, inconsiderate, immature and selfish. This is the sort of behaviour that totally pisses off the locals, and often leads to the local authority imposing a TRO on the lane, which then means no one can use it. Then you lot can't understand why there are less and less lanes available. Normally, I do not support independance for Wales, but if it means keeping you lot out, then I'm voting for it.
