Im so glad to see that someone else really gets as much as possible out of the can like I do. I always get irritated with the person doing the video when it looks like half the ingredients are left behind!
I am that way too ! There is a cooking segment on our local noon news weekdays and "Howard" is always leaving food in the little bowls! I am always yelling at people who do that.
One of the reasons (There are numerous.) I like your cooking channel is because you use normal ingredients found in most grocery stores and the casseroles are easy and simple to put together without taking up a lot of time. Thanks, Catherine!(My sweet mother's name was Catherine. Love that name!)
Made this for dinner last night and my husband is a very picky eater...he loved it and said he would have it again....and it was simple to put together...had a side of broccoli on the side and it was the perfect throw together meal.
Great recipe. A variation: Make chicken or turkey meatballs with ground chicken or turkey. My fave: 2 pounds ground turkey, one cup stuffing mix, two eggs, 1 Tbsp poultry seasoning, small chopped onion, one rib chopped celery, handful of dried cranberries, salt and pepper. Use instead of tenders. Love you Catherine.
Made this today. I used cooked chicken and only cooked for thirty minutes before removing the foil for additional fifteen minutes to brown the cheese. It was delicious and my wife loved it too.
I have made this more times than I can remember! So good, and my family loves it. A favorite when someone is moving, has a new baby, a death in the family, etc. These are ingredients most people like, and is so filling. Many thanks for a great recipe and video!
This looks delicious but my hubby says maybe thin cut boneless pork with one of the other rice flavors. Im gonna try that for tonight. Thanks for sharing. Asparagus on the side. Yummy. Thanks again. Have a super fantastic day Sherry
This recipe goes way back! I remember my grandmother making it back in the 60's when soup recipes first started! They have since added more ideas and options to this dish! Delicious!!
I remember my mother making something like this in the early 90’s (yes, I’m almost 40 yo) but it was always lacking something like vegetables… I add frozen veg to boost the fiber content 😊
I remember these dishes. They really are good. We would change them sometimes when we just did not want to dirty anything else but wanted to get our veggies in there. Use like a pack of the cheese broc rice and chicken and toss in some chunks of broc in with it. It is a great pop in oven and get the homework or the next day started while your dinner is cooking.
I made this tonight for my kids. I went to visit them bc they are both leaving for college on Thursday. Such a simple, easy, but delicious dish. Everyone enjoyed it. Thank you, Catherine for sharing.
I bought groceries yesterday which included ingredients for this redipe and two other recipes of yours. I'm serving this one tonight for my family.. i know they will love it. They all love rice, so this will be a winner. Thank you Catherine for all your easy to make recipes that have all been delicious. Keep up you great work. I appreciate it because I'm not good at choosing things to make, without you it would be the same standard thing I've always made. My family have commented how good your recipes are and for me to keep up with you!! It's dreary here in Texas today and we're under a winder warning alert, even calling my home. I hope they corrected all the grid problems we had last year which put thousands and thousands of people with no electricity. Thank you again, in Christian love to you, Linda from Texas.
I just recently discovered your channel and am so glad that I did. I want to bring a gentle meal to someone in our town that I don't know but they need a hand just now. This casserole will be PERFECT!!!! Adding a salad from our garden, I think they will really enjoy it. Thank you so much!
I just bought a rice cooker catherine!!!! And trying to cook delicious economical meals!!!!! You are the best!!!!! Thankyou for delicious cooking ideas. I tell my friends about your videos!!! Too. Definitely will try this. My son, enjoys the videos too.
Hi Catherine, I will be making this over the weekend. I don't do TikTok, so I am glad you showed us. I will only make one change you mentioned and add small real diced onions to the mix and maybe a small can or so of sliced mushrooms. Being an older single guy I really like recipes like this. TY
Oh, yummy! This is another winner. I make at least one dish a week for my neighbor who is so kind to me, this casserole will make the cut this week. Thanks Catherine.
This was Great!! Only thing is I used chicken thighs and I seasoned them 10 minutes prior to putting into the mix and I used the cheese and broccoli rice and vermicelli Knorrs, and it was So Good! I always have all types of Knorrs pasta and rice packages on hand, there is so much you can do with them for a quick put together meal and not expensive. Thank you Catherine! So Yummy on a stormy night.. 😋 ☔
What a yummy looking casserole dish!!!! I love the fact that it is made with a rice-based starch, as opposed to just pasta! It looks easy and quick and delish! Leave it to Catherine to share good recipes with us! She is my favorite home cook!!!!❤
This is my fifth recipe from you that I have tried. Yummy and so incredibly easy. I had given up on cooking, but you have inspired me to try new things. I even just bought an Instant Pot. Going to try your Mississippi Pot Roast next!
Merry Christmas! I watched a bunch of your chicken casserole videos yesterday and thought I narrowed it down to about three to choose from to prepare for today, until I saw this one. I am going to have to substitute everything except the cream soup and the seasonings, but I'm going to give it a try. I'll be using rice a roni, and chicken legs. I'll almost thoroughly cook my legs in my iron skillet first but I'm definitely making this today with a side of green beans. Thank you for sharing!
You should have 2 million subscribers your recipes and personality are so amazing. So many people are missing out by not being subscribed. I share every chance i get. Thank you so much ❤
I made this two nights ago for dinner and my family ate it all with no left overs. Thank you for showing this video. Please keep it up. I love your recipes. God bless.
Valerie Neal. Very true. I never add additional salt to the packaged meals. I always strain and rinse my can verges before I heat them too. Great minds do think alike !!
I am also a big fan of the Noodles/Rice by Lipton/Knorr packets. They're EASY and YUMMY! Great for lunch and dinner. This recipe really steps its up BIG! Another FAB recipe to add to my fave playlist. It's also a DEEE-LICIOUS comfort food. Thank you Catherine. Arlene
I get so excited when I already have the ingredients to your videos in my kitchen.. and like a little girl I run in there at dinner time screaming .... "I'm making this 🤩!!!!!"... I love these videos.. I'm a single mom and always looking for new and easy or cheap ideas for dinner!! Also because my son is almost 18 and I usually make him help me so he can learn with me so he can one day feed himself 🤣
@@CatherinesPlates I didn't have the exact Knorr's you did I had a broccoli and cheesy rice one so I used a bag of frozen broccoli with it.. was really delicious!!! ☺️😁 I also used cheesy broccoli soup by Campbell's as well...
DE-LICIOUS!! Looks like the type of meal that would be made in the winter time back in my home state of Minnesota. I've lived in Texas for the last 37 years and your video made me so homesick. ... which is VERY hard to do! This dish looks absolutely wonderful! Thank you so very much for sharing!
I keep a can of chicken (no, it's really not that bad...), two of the rice bags, and a can of cream of something on the shelf just for this recipe. It comes in handy on busy days. My kids actually call it "chicken a roni". I throw a bag of frozen veggies in the wave and throw that in sometimes.
Another one of your delicious dishes. My 10 year old grandson especially liked it. Tomorrow I’m going to try the chicken chili relleno casserole. My husband loves chili relleno so I hope I don’t mess it up. He’s always had the ones in Mexican restaurants with ground beef. After I see how this one turns out I’ll check our your beef one.
That looks pretty good! As a matter of fact, I'm making my special creamy chicken broccoli casserole for dinner tomorrow. I'm using pasta shells this time! My wife loves pasta so I am using pasta this tie. My next one will be with Knors! Thanks!
I made this for dinner! It was yummy! My husband had seconds! I used the 33% reduced sodium chicken broth and it was delicious and not too salty. Thank you for the recipe.
@ Lorene Fairchild I was worried about the high salt content in her recipe. Thank you for recommending low sodium chicken broth. I will be making this soon.
Love knorrs cheddar broccoli rice too Ground turkey, some soy sauce, a little canned milk, some fancy cheese with American, garlic powder I've mentioned as as well as using chicken broth with cream of chicken, sour cream, stuffing on top
