Imagine how freaked out all the normie humans were when all of thier collective Shamans suddenly committed suicide one night. We all know the Shamans didn't explain any of this shit to them.
‘Oooga Booga?’ ‘ooga booga.’ ‘OOOOOGA BOOOOGA!!!’ Thus the dead shamans were found. The same scene occurring simultaneously in a thousand different places. Tears were shed, the shamans were dead.
@@mrbreck1 I do not think that actually would work in this case. I think one important detail is missing there. The souls need to be willing and bonded. Just like with that sister of battle, she was fused with 700 sisters of the same mindset who found a way out of their misery through her, while giving her their power. They wanted to help her save them and save humanity. The psykers getting sacrificed every day to the emperor, do not share this at all. If it were not for instilled loyalty in humanity and service to the emperor, the whole act of the constant sacrifices might actually already have destroyed the emperor and turned him into a chaos god thanks to all the souls of those unwillingly murdered and fed to him.
@Nothing In Particular you said "all here is HERESY" you are here, therefore, you are a part of the "all of here" so, potentially, you are a part of the HERESY...
Gotta love how the canon Emperor back story is "yeah there was some kid who was a psyker in ancient history who avenged his father, and then at least 30,000+ years later that kid grew up to be a scientist warlord who burned down a church, we think he did him some stuff inbetween.
Well the old one made no actual sense when you consider history and no one at back library wanted to even attempt the gymnastics they would need to do to make it work. Seriously being every religious leader and great philosopher, emperor and all that makes no sense.
New... Emperor. It would appear that the good inquisitor lord has been possessed after his encounter with a portal to the warp. Many Blams needed for this Heresy.
You know what I just realized? the Eldar are basically doing exactly this, they are trying to fuse all of their souls together, and each eldar is a potent psyker, to form their god of death, they are pretty much attempting to do the same thing that was done to create the emperor.
"Dang, I just saw my Dad get killed. I need to enforce law and order." - Emperor 10,000 BC 40,000 years later. "Finally, I have united mankind under my empire founded on law and order."
"Sooo, ummm. About Kaldor Draigo My lord..." Deceiver "Why do I get the impression I'm not going to like what I'm going to hear..." "He's now the god emperor..." Deceiver: *angry c'tan noises* Chaos: *collective shitting*
It may have to do with the Emperor launching brutal unprovoked wars of conquest on literally the entirety of humanity, committing who-knows-how many genocides, destroying all but one religions (and all the cultural artifacts and assorted history associated with it) while at the same time concealing the existence of the greatest threat to humanity out of an-ill conceived plan that left them all basically defenseless against chaos, instituting the most brutal totalitarian dictatorship in recorded history, stealing children to perform invasive surgery and brainwashing to turn them into death-obsessed killing machines, having two of his own sons killed in unclear circumstances and being an all-around megalomaniacal hypocrite. There are no "good guys" in 40k and certainly not the Emperor.
@@fyraltari1889 well when you put it like that.. its one of the things i love about 40k, all the literature from a loyalist perspective is essentially propaganda. when you take a step back you realize how outrageously evil the emperor could be seen as based on his actions. luetin09 makes these points really well and his most recent vid delves in to the subject
How about we engineer new humans like orkz. With a psychic gestalt field like a WAAAAGH!!! And convine them that the Emperor is alive. Have them breed like crazy until they reach at least quadrillion. Can the Emperor be revived?
I started into warhammer 40k about a year ago and i wondered the same thing when i learned about the power of the orks WAAAAGGGGHHHHH and i thought to myself if all it takes for something to be true is for enough orks to believe it like there red vehicles go faster then why not try and make enough believe that the emperor is alive and kickin strollin through town. Wouldnt that work.. But i never found anything on it when i tried to research the idea.
700 non psyker souls and we have a pretty powerfull psyker. And the emperor eats 1000 psykers daily. He has been munching on 1-2 Ephrael Sterns on the daily for 10k years, now add to this his otherwise ultra OP power and see how incomprehensibly powerfull he is.
Has anyone considered that humans have a number of unique psychic powers in 40k? I've never heard of Eldar fusing souls into a truly physical being, and I've never heard of a demon prince coming from a non-human.
*sees video title* Adeptus Astartes, Custodes, and Sororitas all at once: I CAN SEE THE HERESY IN YOUR THOUGHTS. *Then watches actual video* THE COMING OF THE EMPEROR IS NIGH AND ALL SHALL PROVIDE TO THE CAUSE
I don't think it is meant for one of the Gray Knights to be transformed into a new being like the emperor. I think it is meant for elevating one of the loyal primark's to be a new Emperor. The Gray Knights are already the most powerful psykers in the galaxy. More to the consternation of the Eldar since they are from a lowly animal species like humans. The Gray Knights are Space Marines created not from the gene seed of a Primark but from the gene seed of the Emperor himself. Despite this they are created from Baseline humans. Because of this I'm not sure they could handle the collective might of all of their psychic power combined into one individual. Their soul might literally become too big for their bodies. They are in essence already Proto Primarks. Also I don't think the Emperor or should I say the emperor's Spirit would allow a chance to enter a new vessel go by. Because of this you would in my opinion require a baseline starting point far above that of a human. The primark's are Advanced humans but they did not start out as Baseline humans. That is the real difference between Primarks and normal Astarties or primaris Marines or even the Gray Knights. In this way they are already closer to the emperor. Because the emperor did not start out as a baseline human. The soul entered him before he was born and his body was generated to already be adapted to his psychic power and spiritual power.
So if I am reading this correctly, the emperor could possess Guilliman so as not to die? It would make sense I guess and it would explain why big E was seemingly happy to see him.
@@robertnelson9599 agreed but I don't think he foresaw his interment on the golden throne so did not bother making a copy, also now he's stuck on said throne he can't do a lot.
Love this theory. I remember someone else (possibly Chapter Master Valrack) saying it was confirmed the Terminus Decree was loads of nuclear bombs set to destroy Terra. I remember thinking to myself how anti climactic that was & how it should be something more esoteric. I like this theory lots more, from a narrative stand point it's so much more interesting.
There is at least one Thorian inquisitor traveling with the Wailing Crows space marine chapter (apperently the remains of the Fire Hawks 10th company). The mission seems to be about the re-birth of the Emperor, by means of a new body or another vessel.
I kind of thought of the shamans situation as working but in the context of the times, 100000 years before 40k the Eldar gods were still alive (the reason I think the chaos gods were held off the galaxy at large at the time). This gave the space for the seed the shamans made to grow. It took a long time to form and become strong enough to be recognizable as the being we know of. Around the time of the fall the emperor got his boost from moloch and this finally broke the chaos gods from their more internal “world” view. The Eldar gods were still a internal opponent composed and created in a similar manner to the chaos gods. The Emperor was not made by emotions but has emotions of his own. I think the emperor’s true power is that he can fuel his psychic might with his own emotions. Keep in mind how strong the emperor is, he powered the astronionicon as well as fighting and kicking ass. I think whatever happened to Molech allow the emperor to magnify his ability to follow his own emotions to his psychic powers. This would mean that not only does the emperor potentially represent a new man, it also represents a new god, one that doesn’t need to feed. After the heresey I feel like the emotional strength went out of him and he is simply observing the galaxy in utter existential dread. He has the power but no will. Gulliman never saw the emperor during the heresy and never saw the toll it had on him, he only saw the 10,000 year after image. The astronicom works when he is on it but the power for it is coming from external sources, he is basically the circuit for the golden throne. I think if a group of sufficiently psychically abundant people were to recreate the shamans ritual it would work, but in the 42nd millennium that seed would get crushed and snorted by the chaos gods before it can become a concern. Perhaps seeing a being of similar make being formed would motivate the emperor to get off his lazy dusty ass, either to protect it or eat it.
In one of the books it was mentioned that Guilliman is the echo of the emperor, a copy meant to lead the imperium of man if anything goes wrong. So the "new Emperor" is already made and it would be him. Unfortunately this version of the Emperor did not go to Moloch yet. :P
'Make a new Emperor.' Hmmm...he's already done a video on the possibility of reforging the lost fragments of the Emperor's soul. I wonder what kind of new idea he's come up with thEPHRAEL STEEEEEEERN!!!!!!
I think that one of the major components that make the ritual possible is gone. A more stable Warp. (realm of souls) Back when the shamans made the ritual the warp was not as corrupted and they had a greater deal of control. Preventing the chaos gods from interfering and creating a much much more pure outcome. The Sisters ritual was tainted from the beginning and could in the end turn out to be a horrible thing for the galaxy. The emperor might have a pure enough area of control in the warp to reenact the ritual. but the warp is still more twisted and his attention and souls are scattered across the warp. Something would need to be created in the warp that would be stable and able to be the focal point for the ritual. (star child?) Though the faith the sisters showed might have created a strong and pure enough "Realm of souls" that might have made a "mini" version of the ritual. She could be a key to how the ritual might be done. But her ordeal seems very tainted in how the sisters were tortured. But if they had all done it willingly from the beginning knowingly and were all strong psykers to be able to channel their intent from the get go. It could have turned out to be much much more powerful.
@Anzu Wyliei orks can do anything. but the problem is someone having to make them understand what they have to do. and since it does not involve shooting and stabbin. it is gonna be hard. but yeah. they could totally create a calm piece of the warp to form.
I think the Terminis Decree is the same dead man's switch that the Emperor told Vulkan to create and activate if needed in the novel Old Earth. The dead man's switch destroys Terra and denies Terra to Chaos. Maybe it even destroys all of humanity and thus starves Chaos.
I feel like the device Vulcan fitted to the golden thrown to blow up Terra if needed could also function similarly. It was ment to deal chaos a blow from which it would never recover, Bloung up any number of demons wouldn’t do that, channeling the thrownwould into one sole would.
Supposedly. There's a lot of potential possibilities regarding the Terminus Decree (I have a separate video regarding that) but the one in this video was one possibility that had been omitted from that.
Cool theory video! So all we need is to gather together an unknown number of powerful psykers/perpetuals, have them participate in a sort of gestalt unification upon their ritual murder. Malcador and the Emperor both knew that he was going to give his life as a piece in the Emperor's war. Because of this it is reasonable to assume that some accommodation would be made for Malcador not being there with the knowledge. The Grey Knights are capable of the arcane ritual and weild great power. Would it take them all? Including their weyward master?
In addition to Malcador, one other person in whom the Emperor may have hidden the knowledge would possibly be Vulkan. I mean, Emps has already demonstrated a willingness to entrust in Vulkan really dangerous knowledge (the talisman, for instance.) I seem to recall he flat out said something along the lines"only you could have been entrusted to create this, specifically because you were the sort to be horrified by it." (re the Talisman) I'd put forward that one might speculate that hidden away within Vulkan would be those secrets, a final backup plan, because he'd potentially be one of the few Emps could entrust, even hidden away, with such a secret.
The Terminus Decree is the instruction manual for the Golden Throne. First page asks if you have a problem with the Golden Throne, if so have you tried turning it off and back on again.
Good video, I am surprised that you didn't mention Slanesh though here, that was created with the many eldar sole's and they were unaware that they were about to be sacrificed. it is a similar creation story
"Master, i have grave news, the being gray knights created by merging their souls is...well... corrupted, horus is your friendly neighbour in comparison" "SAY SIKE NOW!?!!?"
This was mentioned and glossed over in one of the Q&A episodes of TTS. The idea of instead of recreating the ritual to create a single Emperor-like individual, recreating the same ritual many times over, resulting in enough beings of a diverse enough gene pool to create a superior human race.
If only there's some ritual where hundreds of millions of psychic souls have been funnelled into one point for say, 10,000 years or so, and then the GK do the thing and give big E's soul a kick start to being a badass again.
Anyone remember the show Highlander? In my head cannon that is who the Emperor of man is. After absorbing all the souls of the other perpetuals he attained his Demi-god like status.
I don't think the Terminus Decree is a mass suicide, it's the destruction of Terra. I think that the seal on the throne is the seal on the talisman Vulkan forged when the emperor revived Vulkan and came to Terra with said talisman. There's a discussion between the two about the talismans purpose, which was to destroy Terra if it came under traitor control during the Heresy, and the seal comes is placed on the throne when the talisman is combined with the throne. It makes sense to me that the seal only appears on the throne because the talisman Vulkan forged was unique, in that only Vulkan knew how to forge it because he was born with the information to do so. Also I think that the ritualistic suicide wouldn't work without shamans, shamans' souls are very different from normal psykers, or even the Grey Knights, their souls would be reincarnated upon their deaths rather than be lost to the warp as would happen now. Their souls reincarnated as one to create the emperor, and clearly not even a thousand psyker souls would be enough to create a new emperor just by judging their power compared to the emperor's.
You know what got me was during the horus heresy their ships didn't log security data or imagery saving. A space faring civilization didn't use such simple tech?
I think even if the Grey Knights do undertake this ritual, it would not be for the purpose of creating a new Emperor, but rather fusing their souls with the old Emperor, giving him enough power to be reborn somewhere in the Imperium. Perhaps then Guilliman would take his place upon the golden throne, his own psychic abilities enhanced by the psykers of his legion, all working in tandem to save their gene-father. The dark technologies of the armour of fate would fuse with the Golden Throne, and the Lord Commander would shatter the Emperor’s Sword, that he could bond his soul to the fragment of the Master of Mankind that lay in that sacred blade. The other primarchs would return on a hunt for their further, and, sensing their imminent defeat, the traitor legions and all the forces of chaos would unite in a final Black Crusade, with Abaddon himself ascending to daemonhood and amplifying his powers within a Chaos Gate, cementing his title as Warmaster even amongst primarchs and finally proving himself worthy of the Legacy of Horus. The Loyalist Primarchs would soon follow, with Corax, Vulkan, Russ, Khan and Dorn emerging from the warp, webway and sectors of space in which they had been residing, whilst the Lion would awake from his slumber, and the mechanicum, in conjunction with a reluctant Iron Hands, would resurrect the remains of Ferrus Manus as a ghoulish servitor-primarch. Konrad Kurze would be one of the last Primarchs to return, his soul having been placed within the soul stone of the corona nox, and released into the form of any Night Lord that donned it, whereupon his host would ascend to daemonhood. Amidst hushed whispers, Omegon would also return, and lead the Alpha Legion in a campaign that would reach the very doorsteps of terra itself, the primarch desperate to destroy the brother who had supposedly killed him, only for his legion to be repelled by the mighty bulwark of the Custodes, who would together fight to the last man. Finally, amplified by the renewed faith and desperation of the Imperium, the Sanguinor would be further empowered, and would lead an assault with the Blood Angels upon Horus’s old flagship, there to reunite with the last trapped fragments of the soul of Sanguinious, becoming a greater Daemon of the Emperor capable of striking down any champion of Chaos that stood before it. The fighting in this war of the End Times would be immense, and many chapters, and even legions, would fall in the assault, until the Emperor would be reincarnated and grow to adulthood, where, accompanied by the daemonifuge herself, he would venture to Terra. As the combined hordes of the traitor legions and primarchs fell upon the planet, and the remaining loyalists also retreated to that place, new rifts and warp storms would open up, leaving much of the Imperium alone, whilst the armies of the Necrons reawakened the Void Dragon, destroying Holy Mars, the Prophet Gazgul Thraka would ascend to the rank of Prime Ork in a new and all consuming Waagh that eclipsed all previous Ork Campaigns in space, sea, land and sky, sending a fungal horde ravaging its way towards Armageddon, once known as Ullanor, where it would further grow in its ferocity. The Tau would start expanding rapidly, suddenly growing to fill many of the abandoned imperial worlds, and the Aeldari would plunge into a three way war amongst themselves. Finally, the Emperor would emerge, striding towards the Golden Throne where Guilliman was already nearly naught but a husk, and would really the psychic might of his remaining loyalist sons, channeling the souls of all remaining humanity, and in a single devastating attack annihilating the souls of all the primarchs, loyal and traitor, reabsorbing their essences and calling upon all remaining fragments of his psyche to reunite with him, including the Star Child. More powerful than he had ever been before and, through the reclamation of the warp essence of his traitor sons, tapping into the powers of Chaos itself, the Emperor would climb aboard the Golden Throne once more, and with his sheer psychic might he would push back all the Chaos and Xenos, save only for those he saw use in, such as the hopeful Farsight Enclave of the Tau, and close the warp rift known as the Eye of Terror, sealing the enemies of the Imperium within the warp to fight amongst themselves for the time being. After this, the Emperor would get back to work rebuilding the webway project, and, when he was sure it was done, would forge new bodies for his sons so that together, they could rebuild the Imperium of Man, his primarch children reborn with reforged souls and memories, free of the taint of Chaos. In time, the warp would open once more, for it is an aspect of life itself and cannot be destroyed, and then the Imperium and its allies would have to once again contend with their many enemies, but this time, they would be ready, and would have the greatest of their heroes prepared to lead them in unison.
*theory* Emps didn't tell Malcador of his origin. Malcador told him. Because he was there when it happened, he was one of the original psykers, but what also came to light when the sacrifice happened was that Malcador was the first perpetual. Everyone thinks Kaldor Draigo can't come back to real space, but in reality he's hiding in the warp because he knows with how much he's been infused with warp energy now he could enact the terminus decree (which Malcador wrote) and ascend to become the Emps new body... But he doesn't want to do that because Emps frowns on Warp dust
The golden seal on the Terminus Decree box suggests to me that it's a signal device, quantum entangled or something. The instant the Golden Throne fails and the Emperor dies, the seal will crack, telling the Grey Knights that it's time to make the Master of Mankind anew.
Truly something to ponder. I offer this one in return. A Terminus Decree would not be necessary, and here is why I think that. During the time when the Terminus Decree was put in place, the Emperor was not worshipped as a God. Faith empowers and sets limitations in the warp, which is why I also think that he did not want to be worshipped. After all, who wants limitations placed on them? Taking that, as well as certain religious practices designed to bring one "closer to god", as well as the soul binding ritual of the Adeptus Astropathicus, you would have a relatively unlimited amount of soul power tied to the belief of the Emperor as God. Should the Emperor pass on, he would then have more than enough soul power stockpiled in the warp to ensure the birth of a second Emperor, or even the re-birth of the Emperor himself. At this point, keeping the Emperor in the golden throne is actually retarding the possibility of rebirth, as opposed to keeping him alive.
The mass-death of Aeldari was also planned for the birth of Ynnead, who is also intended to be a force equal to that of Chaos, specifically to strike down Slaanesh. If the Ynnari hadn't found an alternative method, that would probably make Ynnead essentially the Eldar answer to the Emperor.
There was another psychic aggregate being wasn't there? The Dread Gestalt or something like that? Maybe not as powerful(or maybe just not as coherent) as Stern because they/it were/was undone by a culexus assassin. Speaking of Ephrael Stern, here is a theory for you: That the fact that she ended up with the vast power she does had something to do with a manipulation on the emperors part, and it is her destiny to sit the golden throne and be the living torch for the astronomicon when the emperor dies. Not for long-she will die, because while she may have vast power she is not a primarch, but she may last longer than old Malcador and could buy time while the emperor is being reborn/replaced/achieving apotheosis into full god status.
Could the Grey Knight given the souls of all the Grey Knights and Ephriel Stern soul fuse into one person and then soul fuse with the Emperor? I imagine that would give the emperor enough power to get meaty bits again, and then go and track down all the fractured parts of his soul and be even more powerful than he was before
I don't understand the lore enough to understand why Guilliman is not just "promoted" in some way to emperor. Would claiming the throne be against his character? Would the inquisition be for or against Guilliman being emperor?
Sounds very plausible, even if he didn't tell the details of the riyal a bunch of Shaman figured it out, it's possible for Malcadir and some select aids to figure out how to accomplish it, and then create a plan to implement it in the darkest hours. This dies make me wonder, we have the emperor on the throne, a possibly separate entity in the warp growing in power due to the worship of the emperor, and the possible creation of a new emperor if sufficiently powerful and numerous psykers are sacrificed. What would happen if they undertake the ritual in desperation, create a new emperor while the other is still on the throne, and the empire worship of the empire creates an entirely new conscious entity.
Perhaps the Emperor as he exists on the Golden Throne is trying to "reformat" the webway and warp to provide for the reincarnation of certain souls. When the life support of the Golden Throne fails, the Emperor might seek to bring a new conquest to the Warp in the name of humanity. However, given the damage done to the webway structure near the Terran gate, Terra might be engulfed in a severe warp rift. This would likely provide the impetus for the Grey Knights to unseal and enact the Terminus Decree. But isn't the Supreme Grand Master Kaldor Drago bound to travel the warp due to the Daemon M'Kar?
The problem with the Emporer is that he didn't "die", as a perpetual he'd have "died" then resurected soon after, but he was stuffed into the golden thrown and hooked upto more life support machinery than Little Kitten could shake his force pike at before this could happen.
I've been wondering if Malcador was part of the shaman crew with the Emperor. With him sitting on the throne before the Emperor to be could knock Horus around, I wonder if Malcador was the "compassion" sent to re-coalesce and is that "Star Child"?
Nice theroy on terminus decree. Terminus decree could be a massive psychic energy nuclear bomb designed to kill all life in galaxy of 40k universe. That in turn would deny chaos powers their food source humanity souls.
