“i ordered my hot sauce an hour ago.” - tenet john david washington performed the character of joshua well, but i also had a hard time loving joshua all the way. but the creator is my favorite movie for the year. when “everything in its right place” came on, i literally got so excited. i think your review was very spot on.
Definitely gonna check this out..i think John David Washington is a really good actor and seems like he’s just getting better.thank you for another great review 💪🏾
I'm excited to see this, especially after your review. Have you seen No One Will Save You? It was an incredible piece of sci-fi that utilized it's smaller budget beautifully.
Yeah definitely see it in IMAX if you can. And yes here’s my review of it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TMV01r4g77U.htmlsi=iNvOlkYOfTj5yftw
Cant wait to see this film! Just watched an interview with Gareth Edwards. Loved his small film "monster". Unfortunately we dont have an imax in sydney. I'll still see this. I loved Rogue One. Favourite sci fi: terminator. (The first and only) Fifth Element for a space opera Bladerunner Theres a really interesting time travel film with Ethan Hawke & Elizabeth Debicki? (Forgotten its name.) Low budget sci films often hit better than the big ones.
In a time where they’re just rebooting old series and IPs because Hollywood is too lazy and wants to still make a dollar by doing the bare minimum it is truely refreshing and commendable any and everybody who’s willing to try something new and isn’t scared. Can’t wait to see this movie 🔥
The Creator was amazing man! Instant Sci-Fi cult classic material right there. So emotional toward the climax with Sergeant Joshua Taylor and Alfie, it affected me too lol wow almost cried aswell. Amazing visual effects and the plot may be similar to previous sci-Fi movies and shows. But yeah, overall, the cast did so well with what they were given. Totally worth it in IMAX dispite the aspect ratio having 2 thick black bars, bottom and top of the screen. Interesting aspect ratio choice by Gareth Edwards.
Just saw this movie last night finally and absolutely loved it (and in fact can’t stop thinking about it). Your review was spot on… it wasn’t a perfect film but at least Gareth swung for the fences!
I loved the film especially the ending and definitely loved the premise of the story more than the film itself. I fell in love with the relationship of the main characters so that was enough for me at the end of the day. John David Washington can’t act and that took me in and out emotionally. I’m really big on good/bad acting he’s kind of mid in that department My favorite science fiction series is the planet of the apes remake series. Best remake I’ve ever seen and I won’t debate it!!
Ssw this earlier... Overall I thought it was solid. Some minor pacing issues and parts of the story felt.... Convenient. Too convenient. That third act definitely felt rushed. Tons of influences/visual nods to other IPs like Star Wars, Blade Runner, Aliens.
This is far and away the best movie I've seen in the past two years. It's a shame. Due to the strikes, the film won't earn the box office it deserves. Hopefully, the projections won't discourage the studios from investing in original IPs.
Yeah but for me it seemed a bit derivative. And too obvious about it. I mean common Discrict 9, Elysium, blade runner, Aliens in the beginning, chappie etc etc
@@dustinl5813 I definitely saw those inspirations as well but again I feel as though all those movies you mentioned have taken simples of what’s comes before at some points throughout their individual stories.
@@dustinl5813 Too me, a lot of sci-fi stories are representative of the current state of the world and unfortunately the world repeats itself, hence why we see similar themes and ideas within most sci-fi stories.
And I think that’s not even the main problem with this movie in my opinion. What’s tough about it is the movie looks amazing, and has all the ingredients for a sci fi epic. All the acting was good too. But the problem for me is Gareth edwards or whoever is responsible for the story. His stories are just not quite intense or epic enough. For lack of a better term. Godzilla is a perfect example. The movies called Godzilla and Godzilla the monster more or less a backdrop for the movie until the end for which we get like a 3 minute fight. The movie monsters pretty fucking boring. Monsters are the backdrop and the story is more about the humans. And I get what he’s trying to do. AND I do enjoy a slow burn BUT, the payoff isn’t enough in his movies. Rogue one I suppose the payoff was ok with Darth Vader quick bust out scene. This movie the creator what is the payoff? Why isn’t this an epic ending for what very much could have been an epic sci-fi. We’ll let’s see little Denzel got the one minute he was hoping for right before he’s killed and she is destroyed. Great he’ll go to heaven and they’ll never see eachother again and the robot kid that we’re all attached to is an orphan but survived. I just feel that all the emotional up and down could have led us to a place with an epic payoff. Maybe miraculously they all survive, maybe a glimmer of hope. That’s what district 9 did right. It was a roller coaster of emotions, action, great visuals, great story telling, with a glimmer of hope at the end.
this movie is copy of this chinese movie from the synopsis u just gave us ... Space Sweepers had a similar story i think but then every scifi has similar story with a child as main character ...
