You literally may be the third reactor to do a reaction on this hit. Thank you! I've asked on so many channels. Your comment "these are all ya mommas dancing..." or to that effect. So funny.
For a showcase of the 90s Canadian rap scene check out "Northern Touch" by The Rascalz, it's like a cypher with a bunch of our best from back in the day!
You have no idea man, when you asking if Maestro was the only one in Toronto doing this lol. Everyone was trying to be a b-boy , or b-girl back in the late eighties all the way through the 90's. Trust me there where many crews from Toronto and all over Canada. Hip hop blew up here as well as rave culture from the UK on top of it all. Jungle and drum and bass got huge in Toronto, with parties every weekend. Canadians had more exposure to music then Americans cause we where getting american and British influences. There was also multicultural breakdance crews in Toronto such as a group called bag a tricks!
if you want to see a Toronto classic listen to Ol Time Killin by Kardinal Offishall. Certified Toronto classic. Its a lot more modern than this too. Early 2000's
Maestro was King of Canada rap to me in the 80s…a Toronto syndicate too bad they didn’t get picked up in the US but u notice the part “to the left….” Yea when destiny’s child put their song out I thought they lifted that part for their song…js
He put out a few albums then kind of disappeared into obscurity....rap was going on here in Canada but it wasn't a huge market...that's why most go to the states because the market is huge! His first video was produced by CBC's version of MTV....they held a country-wide contest looking for talent & he won! His prize was the making of his first video & free exposure!
