Hey, I just started smoking weed 5 months ago but I used it for my MDD and anxiety, it was so bad that I took 4 different meds a day for months and it made me feel so much worse, I was still getting sent to mental hospitals but weed helped and still helps me out a lot, I smoke maybe 1-2 times a day on work days at the end of the day and smoke closer to 3 times on my off days, I don’t smoke much in a day though, maybe 0.50g or 1g of flower, I noticed it gave and still gives me purpose and motivation to go through life and helps me with my overthinking, but your videos really helped me realize to slow down, I probably won’t stop anytime soon because it really helps me out with my mental health but this really was a good way for me to learn moderation and I might just cut down even more soon. Thanks again bro

@summernorman8456 what are you meaning though mate? You shouldn't even have tobacco or nicotine inside your blunt. Weed is supposed to be smoked in its entirety be it in a rolling paper or a bong, once you start adding other ingredients you take away from the actual weed itself. This translates to flavours and terpene profiling aswell as its also very unhealthy even more unhealthy than the weed itself. Think about it, some people make a spliff and then they first put tobacco in and then weed or vice versa its subjective some people put tobacco weed tobacco but the message is the same......weed is supposed to be smoked as it is, no adulterants, no chemicals, no tobacco, no nicotine no nothing apart from weed and blunt wrap, weed and bong, or weed and rizla.

Alcohol and weed addiction actually destroyed my life. I could remember several years ago after divorce with my wife which brought me into my disastrous journey on Alcohol and cigarettes. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Antidepressants at 18-29. 31 now. I took way to much, but took about 20g of Gold caps (Psilocybin containing mushroom) I analyzed my entire life. The emotions that came out helped me understand behavior etc more. Wont ever need to do it again because I'm happy and contempt forever, but I wish more people did this to alter their perception of reality. Would help with healing much trauma

Almost daily toker for 15 years. Blessed to be a dad to my 4 yr old son. Weed is def addictive. Something that helps me when I have cravings is trying to remember what my purpose is, and that is to be the best Dad, husband, man I can be . A lot of parents will tell you "I would die for my child if I had to." While that may be true, will you live for them? Would you get yourself healthy? Would you eliminate distractions? Would you lead them more intentionally? You only have to die once. You have to live everyday. Do that.

Different strokes for different folks. I’ve used cannabis since 16 til now and I’m 32. It’s medically prescribed. Some people can function perfectly with weed. Obviously there’s people who don’t like it. But I regularly go on breaks from it and don’t find it addictive at all. I find it’s the best medication for mankind. But if it’s dosnt work for you, or is holding you back. Might have to re-think some things. It’s a miracle for a lot of people

I eventually lost agency in myself because I’ve tried quitting many times and relapsed. this is the final time, it’s been a week and I threw away all of my paraphernalia. I'm 38 years old and started smoking weed at the age of 20. I decided to quit cold turkey yesterday, I threw away all my weed merch (half a bag of weed, rolling papers and even the lighter). I've been postponing it since the end of 2021 and I've always thought I'd quit after I finish my stash but that never happened, that's why I just decided to chuck everything away yesterday because I was never going to stop without stopping ASAP. The major reason being that my son is now 9 years old and such a great kid. I just want to be a regular dad and don't want him to see smoking as something that's cool. @AmnesiaTanner
@AmnesiaTanner 11 месяцев назад
@@daytond1012 I’m still totally sober from cannabis. According to the grounded app it has been 25 days. I work three 12 hour shifts at the hospital since I’m a nursing assistant. Yesterday was my Monday and I had a small concert to attend after work, so I brought a drink with me to enjoy during the show (they allowed people to BYOB). I think the combination of the alcohol and the music made me really want to go get some cannabis. I even sort of felt okay with it because I felt like I had accomplished something by staying sober this long, it’s a weird thought pattern of “now that i’ve stopped i can have a little” But the show went so late that the dispensary was closed by the end. I’m glad I didn’t because I know i would have had the cloudy groggy feeling this morning before work, which would probably make me want to have more weed to cope. The clarity and bandwidth I’ve gained in the last 10 days have really made it obvious how clouded my head was for so long. Something that is interesting is that my desire for processed sugar and caffeine have diminished a lot since stopping cannabis. I hope to cut those out completely in the next year. I am also hoping to use this increased mental capacity to start reading and journaling more. But I’m also trying to be conscious of not biting off more than I can chew. All in all I am feeling better every day but still have very mild headaches occasionally. I have found taking high quality electrolyte supplements and using breathwork have been very supportive. My dreams have been very very intense lately and the ability to breathe through my nose again is amazing. Especially at night while I sleep.

I find that I want it every day but can still enjoy just about everything without it. The cravings tend to be mild, and once I get out of my head with mindfulness, I enjoy weed-free hobbies, socializing, and, of course, sobering obligations. I usually smoke 2 or 3 times a day but don't plan too forever, eventually it will just be a weekly edible. I'd say because it is manageable, euphoric, and thought-provoking for me, I feel no urgency to quit, but smoking is bad no matter what, and it contributes to the mildly addictive nature of THC and, of course, my daily addiction.

I started smoking weed heavily when I was 35, and I have finally stopped at the age of 41. The entire 6 years was like being in a mentally abusive relationship. I felt great more than I felt bad, however it was a constant struggle to even care about the very basic things in life. I began to separate myself from my friends just because I was honestly too lazy to even care about my own self. Before I knew it, I was smoking from the moment I woke up at 3 a.m. until I would go to bed. I have a very addictive personality, so I had to remove it from my life all together. I feel awesome now, reconnected with some old friends, and actually don’t have brain fog all day long.

If you are a heavy user (more than 5g daily, wake and bake, stoned 24/7) you might not be able to quit cold turkey without SERIOUS withdrawal, cutting down, starting later in the day might be a better approach. You can get used to spending a few hours each day sober and then reduce the amount you use during your stoned hours. Make edibles in order to break the smoking habit and then reduce the amount you put into your edibles, this will reduce your tolerance/addiction slowly and make the final break a LOT easier.

Even if relapse happens like after a lot of days sober, don’t smoke too much it’ll make you anxious(with underlying thought that I might start this heavy trip again). Appreciate yourself for being sober until you relapsed and again give importance to sobriety. Sobriety is quite underrated but it’s damn important. Listing down weed’s bad effects, watching such videos helps you develop anti-weed mindset. Having a schedule with productive activities to enhance yourself career wise helps a lot!

A psychosis episode ruined me & my family a year ago with the combination of life loss of family members and family pets not to mention Covid and me getting a brain injury. My brain almost completely detached from reality and my dissasotiation was invisible to me. After 17 years I can't imagine how deep my creep affect really became. I love being clear headed and sober now and can wake up proud of myself, Iv'e never felt better. I let it rob me of nearly a whole lifetime and I can't get it back, all it has left me with is the shell of myself and the feeling of emptiness. Regret isn't a strong enough word for me - if your reading this and thinking of quitting, don't leave it as late as I did, it has already taken something that you can't get back - don't let it take more!

I started smoking weed when I hit 18 and got out of high school, I’m totally aware and acknowledge that weed is a double edged sword but my justification is this: everyone needs something to get them from A to B to C, been smoking almost every day for 2 years and I want to say this. You don’t need things to keep yourself going not at all, but weed is one of the ones that is easiest to keep around if you really have to choose.

I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you. I smoked weed daily for around 15 years. I was in it heavy, I was 100% addicted. I had some extremely close calls with the law, wasted a ton of money, lost some really great opportunities and seriously messed up my relationships. I realized one day, about 14 months ago, that I needed to stop. It wasn't until I found your videos that I actually did. I have a super addictive personality, so I decided to find something helpful to get addicted to. For me it has been weightlifting. I pretty much overnight exchanged the high of pot for the high of the gym. I know in reality a more thorough solution would be to figure out why I get so obsessed with certain patterns, but for me so far it's been a game changer. I got way more effective in my career, my relationships got so much better and I was finally able to be there for the people I love- but it did not fix everything. I went into quitting thinking it would just solve every problem I had in life, honestly the first 6 months almost felt worse. I remember telling my friends, "why did I even quit, my life is worse now". The reality is it was getting much better, and it continues to get better, but like you said in one video- a lot of us self medicate, and if we've been doing that for many years we have circumvented how to actually deal with those problems and feelings we were running from with drugs. One day I was in my friends car, expressing my frustration over how quitting wasn't the solution I was looking for and she said to me "I do not think that's true at all, you are 100x more present, fun, trustworthy and accountable than you ever were before, I couldn't really trust you'd come through before and now I'd be shocked if you didn't". To me that was really all I needed to hear to keep it up. Anyway, for anyone dealing with quitting, it is worth it, it's a long game, but there is virtually no situation I can think of where you won't become a better version of yourself if you stick it through.

I smoked daily for around 3 years and let me tell you daily smoking pot affects you definitely. The worst thing when you smoke daily is after a point you’ll require more quantity of substance to get the same high. So that becomes a vicious cycle. The greatest significance of quitting weed was a happy life. Being constantly sober brought a happiness that was much greater than how I felt between stoned times. The down time, the hours I spent between being stoned, was just that, feeling down. My ability to do life was exponentially greater once weed was gone from my life. And as a side note, being stoned was like putting up a smoke screen between me and life experiences. Being stoned wasn't a genuine experience with real human interactions.

I've smoked every day for the last 25 years, have a family, run a company, and have received great benefits from it. But, I have Tourettes/ADHD/OCD and it has helped me tremendously there. You nailed it. Sounds like my story. Weed crept into my life that way. I started smoking at 18 and I’m 53 now. I took an 8 year break in my 30s but after one joint I was back to having to do it before and between every possible activity. I’m currently recovering from multiple heart procedures related to my years of weed smoking. It’s not harmless. I had severe atrial fibulation and was at severe risk for a stroke. I’m almost 5 months off weed, and everything and thank god. I was smoking an ounce alone every 5-7 days. Which is totally ridiculous. You don’t have to smoke that much to increase your risk of atrial fibulation by 40% tho. I also had worsening of many physical and mental health issues. Many of which were quite possibly, just from the weed. Thanks for the video. I strongly encourage those watching to listen closely to what you said.

I don't need to quit, I choose to because of a logical decision. I don't want to become sick and lose out on future family. But I don't have many negative effects from weed - it feels harder as I feel I have little immediate consequences for smoking. Day two! I've been smoking for almost two decades and was an every day smoker and during the past year I started selling and was smoking an oz a week. Even though I didn't loose money on it at all cause of how I did it..... I completely lost myself. I did NOT quit cold turkey but an oz a week turned into an oz a month and than finally yesterday I said fuck it and flushed what was left and passed it along to the next person. Weed won't kill you like other drugs but it will change you and for me at least I didn't realize what was happening until it was almost two late. I've never really had addiction issues until I tore my shoulder in 2020 and got on percs...although I didn't take those long...it def changed my mind and I became a junkie of sorts. I gotta say.... WEED SAVED MY LIFE in some ways during this time but after a while the unsettling realization of..."Your shoulder doesn't hurt anymore" kept getting louder and louder.... until I had to come to terms with that fact that I was addicted to smoking weed. I am thankful for your channel and the resources you provide as I have been stoned out of my mind watching for months now and all your advice I am putting to use. Thank you.

1:08 - 1:23 I bet all of us have the same story 😀In high school I had exact same thought pattern. ''It's a lot of fun, this will not do any damage to my body, because after high school I will drop this ''habit''.

i got this recommended to me. I don't even want to quit anymore, i used to smoke on-off and felt terrible and couldn't get anything done because i was either on withdrawal for a week or way too high for a week. Now that i smoke all the time i'm able to have a normal job and can pay attention to my hygiene and even rediscover old hobbies (due to job). I want to start a vending machine business this year and i feel like i'm actually building a life worth living. around weed. I know this is an addiction channel, so to everybody reading my comment on the path to recovery, especially when young: I'm almost certain that i am the exception, most people will probably do better when they stop or heavily moderate their weed usage! :)

I use weed as a medicine for my ptsd. It calms me during panic attacks. I thought about quitting but ended up getting my medical card instead. It’s so much better for you than benzos which are very addicting. Once can become dependent on weed but not addicted like opiates, alcohol, and benzos. There are lots of benefits using cannabis over those other addicting medicines. Good luck on whatever journey is right for you.

Thanks, Dr. Frank. I'm 61 and have been a binge user of marijuana and alcohol since I was about 18. I quit 5 days ago, and I'm through the worst of it, although now feelings of shame are coming up pretty hard. I was originally thinking that I was going to stop "for now," with the expectation that I would eventually return to using in six months or whatever time limit I set for myself. Your videos are making me consider quitting entirely, for good. In particular, your thoughts on "romanticizing" weed and "stoner talk" (addictive thinking) were very insightful and helpful. Thanks again for your work.

Hi pal, doing this myself. How are you doing now, still sober?
@Arven8
@Arven8 11 месяцев назад
@@j11g55 Approaching 30 days. Doing well. Mood and sleep are stable, more or less. I am working on redesigning my life, so that is my last go-around with weed and alcohol. Made a long list of all the BS my addictive voice tells me, along with responses. I'm also continuing to watch Frank's videos every day, so I don't get complacent. I think these things are making a difference. Making the decision to quit entirely, rather than temporarily as I usually do, has also made a difference. Thanks for checking in. I hope you are doing well, too.
