Inhumanoids - The most metal cartoon of the 80's

Inhumanoids was the best. I had the theme song stuck in my head for years and I'd do the same thing - no one would believe me that it existed :P. But Kim's reaction is priceless. It's actually a pretty good - horrifying - show. As an aside - the voice of Starscream (Chris Latta) was the undead thing that caused people to decompose. Oh, and the main villain always referred to the humans as "flesh slugs". 80's children's fun!

I totally repressed those memories as well. I was 6 when that show came out and I had nightmares, and then about 4 or 5 years ago when my kids were talking about how scary creepy pastas, 5 nights at freddies, and things like that were, it all flooded back to me and I was like "Dude, you didn't grow up in the 80s. You don't even know what scary kids shows are about." They were like 11 and 12 at the time and already very apathetic teenagers, all jaded and sarcastic, and I showed them that exact decompose clip and they freaked the hell out. It was hilarious. Funny thing is the most traumatic show I watched as a kid was the Purple Smurfs episode that was inspired by Night of the Living Dead. haha I won't even watch zombie shows to this day because of that episode, and it's so hilariously tame. I watched it again about that same time I was telling my kids about Inhumanoids. I was just traumatized by the Smurfs being terrified of getting bit and then turning purple and attacking their friends. Also Dungeons & Dragons made me far more scared to ride a roller coaster than anything else, ever. I grew up in Santa Cruz California near the Beach Boardwalk and the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster starts off with an immediate plunge into darkness and I was always afraid that I'd end up in the Forgotten Realms if I rode that coaster. lol

Well.. there was that one about death. The main character was meet by some type of demon, telling him over and over that he would die if a certain light of a candle run out. During that cartoon, the main character tries everything to make that light not go out while the demon or death or whatever that other figure was is laughing at him. Nothing works, and the light runs out and he dies. Oddly enough I wasn't scared of this, we had it on a vhs that was a collection of fairy tales. Although I wasn't scared of it, my mom was a bit terrified of it I believe.
