One of the worst places in the Chernobyl exclusion Zone is not dumped, abandoned equipment, not empty apartments of Pripyat and Chernobyl. This place is a small basement in Pripyat medical unit No. 126, under one of the hospital buildings. This basement never tourists, and during regular excursions to the city about him not even tell that no one had any ideas to get there.
The basement is a narrow corridor with a length of about 60-70 meters, along the walls of which are the heating pipes and plumbing, and there are several side rooms - they are all area of no more than 10-15 square meters. What is so terrible in this basement? And why there can not go under any circumstances?
Pripyat hospital No. 126 is notorious that it were brought there to provide first aid firefighters, putting out the Fourth unit on the night of 26 April 1986 and affected plant employees. Almost all fire from the calculations of Lieutenant Kibenko and Lieutenant Pravik, died fighting heroically that night a fire at the plant died within the next two weeks, since the dose of radiation is several thousand REM - that is several times the dose of 500 REM, which is fatal. It is impossible even to imagine, what happens to the body of the person who received this dose, it literally "glows" with radiation, transmits the radiation to everything it touches.
That night when being admitted to hospital firefighters primarily stripped - as their clothes are, in fact, was a is not a fabric and "solid radioactive waste", and then the clothes thrown into the basement of that hospital building, where lay the fire. I think that was the right decision at the time - in it because there were places where the clothes would not represent a danger. Disguise firefighters were on the sanitary inspection of the plant, but it that night was closed and everything had to be done right in the hospital.
All things fire so far and lie in a hospital basement.
