I had a horrible roommate in my freshman dorm. Some transgressions include: -Inviting her weirdo friends to sneak into our room and watch me sleep -using my real, metal silverware and ceramic dishes and then throwing them all away instead of just washing them -sleeping with the same box of Chick-fil-A nuggets in her bed for over a month -joining a sorority, being such a freak that she almost immediately got kicked out the sorority, and insisting I stayed in the room with her while she was told that she was getting kicked out. Very awkward. -inviting her friend from out of town to stay with us and telling her she could sleep in my bed, while I was very much still there and sleeping in my bed every night, and then letting said friend eat all of my food while I was in class because “it was the least I could do to make up for not letting her have my bed” -dropping out the week before finals and having her whole family come get her stuff (without her) at 7 am on a Sunday. I was sleeping in just a shirt and underwear and was trapped in my bed under the covers for 2 hours while her family piled into the very small room to collect all of her stuff. And that’s just a BRIEF rundown of living with this girl

I had a roommate that refused to pay her bills and I was constantly telling her that part of being an adult means that you've got to pay your bills. I eventually got our landlord to kick her out after months of her refusing to pay her bills, and not even a month after she got kicked out she got pregnant. Talk about adult responsibilities....

Zack's lube story reminded me of an embarrassingly long time it took me to put 2 and 2 together. I went home one weekend from college, and when I came back, I noticed something off about my bed. It was made just like I left it, but there were two throw pillows facing the wrong way. They were a couple of Star Wars Episode 1 pillows I'd gotten for cheap that matched the rest of my bedding, but I always put them flipped back so it wasn't obvious. When I came back, there were Anakin and Obi-Wan's faces clearly facing me. Didn't think much of it. Then later that night, I found a tiny empty bottle of sample lube in the crack between my bed and the wall. I figured my roommate and her boyfriend just got crazy and threw it across the room. As the week went on, I complained to my roommates that my sheets smelled weird, and I was going to haul them down to the laundromat, even though I didn't really have the money to be doing extra laundry, the smell was just bothering me too much. The roommate I shared a bedroom with randomly offered to pay for the laundry. It wasn't until years after I graduated when I was doing some completely unrelated task and those memories came back, and I finally realized my roommate and her boyfriend fucked on my bed while I was away for the weekend.

After kicking out my terrible roommate I came home from work to a completely empty apartment. She took every single thing down to the outlet covers 😂

I had a roommate talk shit about me in the kitchen the day I arrived while I was on the other side of the door in my room. While she was calling me names she texted me something like "welcome 🥰". Anytime I left my room she would stare at me until I went back to my room and try to open the bathroom door on me. She would invite my fiance into her room to smoke but not me. She also took fat dabs infront of her kid and let the room get all smokey. She does not have her kid anymore.

I took one Benadryl at work one day (I work at a vet clinic), and I fell asleep while I was standing up holding a dog. That stuff is no joke

My room mate had anger issues and trouble cleaning up, on top of his rage towards video games, he and his girlfriend would fight every weekend, and most of the time in the living room of this tiny 2 bedroom apartment. Slamming doors at 12am and not even apologizing the next day. One time he left a crockpot full of soup sit unrefrigrated for a month, and he did that shit multiple times. One day I decided to clean it myself and the soup had turned from runny water, to a solid mold. That pretty much sums up our relationship actually. I lived there for 5 months and he and his girlfriend probably only did the dishes twice. One time I asked him to, personally, and he couldn't even start the dishwasher on his own without help (couldn't figure out buttons). As funny as it is to watch a lazy bastard come up with excuses over and over again (like pointing to water overflowing in the disposal, and crying about how he has to push a button to drain it), I got out of that situation and now live with my parents. Way better in my oppinion.

One of my roommates would always flush her tampons (didn’t know this) and one day the water was backing up into my bathtub and toilet and sink and it would not go down no matter what I did (we had separate bathrooms)- later found out that her flushing tampons wrecked the plumbing for my entire apartment building. Everyone in our building had nasty water backing up into all of their sinks, tubs, and toilets. When the maintenance man came, I had to let him into her room to give him access to certain pipes, and there were used, unwrapped tampons on her floor. She’s super nice and I kind of feel bad sharing this but it was naaaasty

I had a roommate who brought a bunch of strangers back from the bars with him to do coke and drink. They partied until the early morning and made fun of me when I told them I had work in the morning and had to sleep. Then one of them stole our other roommates computer while he was out of town. It was worth thousands of dollars and had a bunch of irreplaceable personal stuff on it. Then for some reason I lived with him again and he “lost” our other roommates expensive bike. Now he’s a known abuser of women and no one likes him.

I had a roommate literally just shit on the bathroom floor 2 or 3 times and regularly just leave puddles of piss next to the toilet.... He said the toilet was leaking but the piss puddles stopped showing up when he moved out and I got a new roommate

Air bnbs can legally film you in their home, it's in the document you sign. That's why I'll NEVER stay on one. And all the outlandish fees and faulty charges, I'll never go through that lol. Motels all the way.

Had a roommate who would rather buy weed than save for rent. He decided to do a drug deal with his friends. One of his friends that was buying was an informant and once they were arrested he told him, "I'm sorry man. I didn't know you were going to be here." So I had to pay extra rent for a few months.

My current roomate murdered a person, so that is uncomfortable for me. But he helped me get this iphone past the guards so…it is really a trade off.

I had a roommate that was bothered by the faint sound of music coming from mine and other roommate's headphones... we couldn't even listen to videos with headphones or the future fuk$#$g lawyer would complain, she slept till noon and we would wake up at 5 am for school, we couldn't even turn on the light in the winter at 11 am because she was sleeping, after weeks we started ignoring her and doing whatever we had to do, I couldn't get dress in the dark anymore.

Maybe living at home isn’t that bad. 🤣 I’ll move out when i know i can financially do it alone.

I rented a place, gave her all my money, signed a lease, got a key. The day I showed up, the door was open and the house was empty. I found her online advertising for a place in another city. Cops caught her, she had done it to 6 other people. I had 2 days to find a new place, with no money. I moved into a house in a cemetery with a guy who was serving a weekend sentence for a violent offence, another guy who kept hocking all the furniture and let his dogs shit and piss all over the house, leaving it for days before cleaning it up, another guy who would constantly make aggressive sexual comments towards me and I didn’t have locks on my door. And another guy who was a closeted drag queen with schizophrenia who would come home in the middle of the night with a new guy every night. Just a wild cast of characters. They saved me from the street though. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤗

My brother goes to a high school here in Arizona. He sent me a photo of a note they had printed and taped to the bathroom door pleading with male students to stop jizzing in the bathroom because when they flushed it, it literally got so built up that the pipes broke.

I’ve never had a rommate, but I stayed at a (now former) friends house for a few weeks because she was a single mom to a few month old baby girl (the father got full custody pretty soon after this) and I just wanted to help her out with the baby. Everything was normal up until the second night. I bathed, fed and changed the baby girl and put her to bed in the crib in my friends room so my friend could rest, then I did some cleaning and other small chores and went to bed on the couch while (I thought) my friend was in the shower. In the middle of the night, around 1:30-2am, I wake up to the baby crying. When I can’t hear my friend shushing or comforting the baby at all I go to check on them, and see my friend is gone and the baby’s alone. Friends bed is still made but her bag, shoes and jacket is gone. I make sure the baby is fed, changed and otherwise okay and call my friend who answers by the third call. Basically she had snuck off once I fell asleep to go party with her crackhead friends and dealers. I’m pissed obviously but I play it cool as to not cause a scene and call CPS as soon as they open and then call the baby daddy. Dad shows up and CPS a little later and they hand dad the baby, and I go home. Cut to a few months later she was basically thrilled to no longer have custody or any other rights as a mother, now the girl is 6 years old and my ex friend has visited her maybe three times total. The drinking, drugs and partying is appearently still first priority 🤷‍♀️

I had a health crisis and my friend called for emergency help and I was taken to a hospital. My roommate got pissed at me because a cop and an ambulance were called to the apartment? (She smoked a lot of weed) So she packed all my stuff up while I was in the hospital and threw it outside so that’s what I came back to when I got out🙄🙄

I had a terrible roommate that would: -Prop up his bed with tuna cans -build placements for his toothbrush with random bathroom objects (balancing on top of nailclippers and tweezers, topped on a hairbrush with bristles touching, etc.) -never bought household supplies, but used everything you bought -NEEDED gold cable package and insisted you chip in to pay -only played fortnight or watched FOX News in his free time -had severe anger issues which he’d take out on anything around him. -never bothered to clean ANYTHING -would scream in the wee hours of the morning when he lost at fortnight. I couldn’t get out of that house fast enough

Dude I OD’ed on Benadryl a couple nights ago. I used it for allergies and sleep and just kept taking more. I hallucinated and only slept for 1 hour. To this very minute I’m still recovering. I’m still having problems with my memory.

I don't know why the comment about the cat poo being normal was so relatable- my family had to live with some family friends for a few years. and their 5 cats used to pee, vomit, and leave gross clumps of hair all over the house. We just thought it was normal. But we've had an FIV cat for almost a year now on our own and he only vomited for the first time today- it made me think the same thing. Why the hell did we just think it was normal to step in cat vomit every day? LORD- We called the vet right away to schedule an appointment. But they never ever did-

I have a few bad roommate stories. I lived in a halfway house in Milwaukee for a year without knowing it was a halfway house and the woman I lived next to was something else…. I also had a roommate in college that went in to a stress induced state of psychosis and was CONVINCED I was using her trash can in the bathroom when I wasn’t. So she went crazy one day and like flipped out about how I put a tampon in her trash even though I didn’t use tampons at the time. It ended up in her tossing the trash on my bed. Once that mess got figured out she put tacs in my bed that she poked up through my sheets so that when I laid down I got jabbed by them. She was also convinced I was in love with her hillbilly boyfriend and accused me of purposely leaving my underwear on top of my hamper for him to see which like…. That was our room so why are you just bringing him in there without my permission anyway? The whole thing was a huge mess. She got kicked out of school because of it so at least that was good I guess. And then I had another roommate that would not let me or our other roommate put anything in the common area. Like it had to just be her stuff and she was like “my anxiety is so bad if anything isn’t right I can’t” type shit. So I got fed up because I don’t think I should have to keep my kitchen utensils in my bedroom so I put my stuff away. The next day she put it right outside my door. This kept happening even after we had an intervention were they told her she can’t touch my stuff. I did get fed up really bad one day and like slammed my room door so hard it fell off the hinges which was kind of funny looking back because that was stupid to get that upset over something so dumb. Now I just live by myself and my 3 cats lol

I had a private room but shared a bathroom with another girl. She would frequently lock me out of the bathroom and leave for the weekend, literally never cleaned the bathroom, would leave her music on blast and go out for the night, got drunk and fell in the tub ripping down the shower curtain and never replaced it and puked all over the toilet and left for Christmas break. Worst person ever

My worst roommate was PHYCO. She took our utility money but didn't pay the utilities, didn't pay rent and yet refused to leave so we ended up having to pay all her debt in order for her to agree to leave because management said legally we’d all be evicted, not just her.

I have a restraining order against one of my first roommates. She was violent and unhinged and our landlord wouldn’t evict her even if we all threatened to move out. One time she called animal control and had them remove all the pets from the house (luckily my dog was with me). She would have her bf over for weeks at a time, and her kids (three of them). Her exes would show up and cause drama. She would leave her dog locked in her room for days. We had to completely remove the carpet after she left. She would try to break into our rooms at night and threaten to have her boyfriend murder and r*** us. Plus she was a hoarder.

Amazing to come back to this now having one of my roommates put a restraining order on my other roommate lol

I've pretty much BEEN the awful roommate story lolz. I was going thru a lot, my school called the cops and sent me to jail at 17 (unfairly, I believe. They were scared the big scary black man might do something), I got expelled, I was distraught, I got kicked out of my mom's and for the next 12 years I was dealing with drug addiction. I'm also schizophrenic. I get that none of that excuses me for the way I behaved, I pretty much totally annihilated every bridge there is to burn. I'm healthy now, I'm 5 years sober, I have my independence and I just CANNOT live with anyone for the foreseeable future lolz.

Lmfaoo I felt attacked about the boots in the freezer. Any time I get new dr martins I put a zip lock bag of water inside my boots and throw them in the freezer to stretch them out.

My ex bf was my crazy roommate. Rampant addict/alcoholic with severe mental disorders that would cause him to black out and turn violent or destroy the place. He even went so far as to rip doors off hinges and smashed the toilet into the bathtub. He was paranoid about everything, especially his health and would invite his younger brother and a gang of frat boys over without warning to get trashed and wreck the place on a regular basis
