Sitting here watching this in 2024... man I miss the Froning, Bailey, Khalipa, Bridges, Smith...etc. days of crossfit. So new and exciting. I still love watching the games today... just something about those years 😊
So bored on corona lockdown. Watching some of these while I lift or run. Why do so many people hate watch CrossFit. I mean I get it you don’t like it, why are you watching it? I don’t like artistic gymnastics, you know what I don’t go on RU-vid and search for and watch and comment on....artistic gymnastics...
Especially since doing live broadcasts on Facebook is just a terrible idea. The quality was absolute garbage and there would be a ridiculous delay between audio and video. Hopefully they can just get it on ESPN live so that we can just watch it on tv.
josh bridges fired me up at 10:43..I'm so sad that he didn't do well this year ,it's a part of being an athlete to not do well sometimes and have some missteps...we all know what a beast josh is, in the end
ZukMydIck if you think that he takes steroids is your problem ,I dont believe it...and cause you can't reach his level there is no need to say things like that about him...just move on man
Agreed.. I mean could you imagine. Spending every moment for an entire year focusing on training to make it to the games and do well.. Then to get sick and not be able to do as well as you know you could do. It's insane that he even finished the games. Especially with it being out of his control.. I hope that next year he comes back and crushes it.
the thing is if you do drugs you get a four year penalty but really its like a lifetime because even if you learn from your mistakes no one will ever trust you again
I wonder if bodybuilders could do this since they have more muscle mass they prolly be able to lift faster or maybe the cardio aspect of it will kill them....
I once saw a vid of 2 body young body builders doing max sit ups. One made 50 in just over 2 minutes the other just under 2 minutes and both were rolling on the floor afterward exausted. I as a 68 year old CrossFitter do 50 in 63 seconds and my best is 300 in one set. Body building is not fittness
Yedaiah I was talking about the guys bar. I know what colours are what, thank you. So the short bar is 35 for the guys, two 45s, two 5s... 35+90+10. 135. There was a press release saying they were all misloaded to 125. They clearly aren't.
Ah, okay that makes more sense, sorry. I'm assuming the bars are probably only 25 lbs. They look quite a bit smaller than a women's bar, so I don't think they're actually 35. But it could also be that the organisers were mistaken when they thought they were mistaken, and the weight actually was 135 ^^
No, I don't think that's it. The press statement says both were 10 pounds lighter (so 125/85), plus I believe they used the same bar if I'm not mistaken.
@@jhssuthrnmama they always move forward after each round so you would be able to tell anyways,... one barbell per person should be enough, don't know why they did it this way
funny thing, it was during thrusters that my knee gave up and I couldn't get up, it swelled up, went to the doctor and found out I had SVP on my knee, a condition mostly present in older people (above 50's) so even though crossfit accelerated the development of the condition, it was at the end good because I was able to get surgery young to remove them and fully recovered in a year.... I still waited and did therapy for another year before returning to crossfit and I'm very careful with what I do but the comunity keeps me going back, all my friends there welcomed me back with open arms despite the time passed
@@racingbee I’m an orthopedic tech and I see people who are huge into CrossFit destroy their joints quicker than people that do normal workouts. By no way am I telling people what to do with their lives. Just stating facts based upon what we know about arthritis, the more wear and tear put on joints accelerates arthritis leading to joint replacement. Not to mention people who do any weightlifting wrong and tear labrum’s and rotator cuffs. I’m happy to hear your back though. Good luck
@@alan181090 well joint replacements are based off of arthritis. Arthritis is wear and tear of your joints. No one has a crystal ball to say you’ll need joint replacement in 2 years and three days. But it’s common knowledge that if two people buy the same car at the same time, one puts a 100k miles in a year, while the other puts 100k miles in 5 years which one will break down sooner?
the whole thing is sily - never do complex weightlifting movements as part of cardio. it's a clear path to injury. even with these 'best crossfitters in the world', their form falls to complete shit 5 mins into any event.
Rasta Love 80% of them, male and female wouldn't be able to compete, neither able to repeat those kinds of performances. Anybody who thinks these guys are clean are delusionnal. It's still enjoyable though.
Until I see undisputed PROOF, you're all just guessing. I know, I know, "normal women don't have abs or traps like that"......well, the top Crossfit athletes aren't Jane average. Deal with it, or PROVE IT......
The only one that was using was Ricky and he got suspended for it. If you don’t believe in crossfit testing, tia toomey (2017 champion) got a gold medal in Olympic lifting a few months ago and they test their athlete too and she was just fine. So stop hating on hard working people just because you can’t get off the couch
Totally unfair events. All weights should be a PERCENTAGE of body weight--not a set weight. If you are not is strong in lifting as a bigger person, it does NOT mean you are less fit.
No. Crossfit is about overall fitness. No other type of workout is scaled, there's no reason weight based exercises would. Heavy people will do well in some events and light people will do well in others. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Except Mat and Tia.
Since there are also a number of events that are challenging for heavy set athletes it evens out, plus this weight division has never been an issue, only a factor contributing to results over more than 10 years now
@@seanclarke6733 It wouldn't even out fairly because, a real champion should be measured in a ratio of strength to body weight. What crossfit really is is who is the absolute strongest. You would be at a disadvantage if one is particularly short or small.
Scott BikeDawg mat Fraser is 5’6 and spent more than 10 years doing weightlifting before CrossFit In other words work produces results not body type, and although it is a factor it is merely an excuse to say that is the reason a specific athlete lost
Lifters naturally are slowest and worse in cardio heats.. so there's no such thing as advantage in lifting more.. what matters is a mix of strength and endurance.
