Tia Toomey running throughout the event, powerlifting the crap out of everything, finishing first, and still answering the questions of the interviewer with calm and breath, dafuq gurl. Also, so humble and sweet
As a mom of boys, I get so so proud of these guys. Even the older ones LOL. They are all my boys!! When they interviewed Kwant at the end oh his event (@30:09) I just felt my heart fill up with so much pride for him. It's such a beautiful thing to see young men challenge themselves to such great heights
5'7" and 172lbs... Clean 350lbs twice. After doing all that work. To me that's one of the more impressive things I have seen at the Games is those two getting that weight up.
@@lukebowar3788 lol they kipped hard as shit but I guess its the rules fault since they didn't specify whether or not they should be done with strict form
I am K well when you think about it if it takes a second to walk to the other bar added up between all the sets it does matter. as they say every second counts
@@beavonmich4571 he hadn't won it 4 times at this point, he had won it once. Maybe look at the year before being all "super smart" at this point he was just someone who had gotten 2nd 2 years in a row and was a right little b**** about it, now he has the right to this respect, he had barely earnt it at that point, he's just a rich boy who could afford to practice more than others and that helped hugely. It was just insulting the attention he got at this point, to other athletes who had worked just as hard, most for longer.
There are so many idiots that comment here in pure jealousy that believe they're somehow very cool going to a gym twice a week and doing squats and bench press. These women would dust every man at every single of these people's gym. So naive.
I imagine a 300lb, 40 year old virgin still living with their mums because they don't even have the ability to find a mate, but their questioning of pull ups and drugs is the highlight of their pathetic excuse for a life. Helps me to create an image and quite frankly, I believe my assumption is a stronger one than theirs, with more logic behind it.
Hahahaha , bro crossfit is the opposite of good clean flawless technique. It's all about reps, nothing else. Doesn't matter how you do it, just do as many as you can. Cheat, swing, help with other body parts... pure bullshit!! How come crossfit is leading in injurys? Idea of crossfit is great but it turned into BS, the focus is not on clean performance, instead of numbers....
Well he weighs 175 labs and he has to lift a 350lbs clean. The problem is he was pacing throught the bar muslce ups. So they thought he would be fatigued even before hitting the 350 giant lbs.
The difference in form of Alex Smith's muscle ups vs alot of the others muscle ups is so huge that they are basically doing different muscle ups. Did the extreme swinging kipping unbalanced muscle ups of others really count?
Are you surprised? A crossfitter talking about real lifting is like a regular human discussing advanced alien technology... it’s just that, alien to them.
good lord hows is thorisdotter able to keep this up? 2:15:58 every single rep was like this. how on earth is no one in her camp teaching her not to jerk like that? its a miracle she hasnt thrown her back out
you will see the lifters struggling their first years, Tia and Matt, both legends, both got 2nd their first 2 years because they relied heavily on their past experiences, Tia was a runner too which helped. Both learned a lot though and added more gymnastics into their training, had they not done that, they may never have won.
@@casualarrogance Yes i think they couldn't even do 5 in a row. I saw a video of a dude that could do cross fit "deadfish" pullups and could not even do 10 regular pullups in a row.
@@casualarrogance At last something intersting in crossfit. This is sooooo much better than anything else I have seen. Finally something that makes sense ;)
Eric Day in competition there is no “perfect” form. In car racing, skiing, even weightlifting. You just have to give all you have to win. Probably you never entered a competition.
Gap do you know why in car racing qualifying laps are way faster than during the race? Qualifying laps=perfect form, racing=I do everything possible to stay in front and win. Loser.
Interesting to see the lowest men's weight is almost equal to the highest Women's weight - we are built differently. I think there was a swimming competition and the first guy had two women chasing him, he had to do everything to keep up with the women, lol
A basic muscle up with momentum gained from the kipping, as made since gymnastics exist and allowed in this competition. Sometimes kipping movement aren't allowed in Crossfit competitions (strict HSPU, strict pullups, etc), sometimes whatever technique you want is allowed as long as your respect the standard. In this case, rep starts when arms are fully extended at the bottom and is completed when elbows are locked at the top. Anything else ?
They are actually called kipping muscle ups and they are used in crossfit because it is easier to do and if the rules don’t ban it, why go harder? It’s like someone says that you can make your soccer/football/futbol goal bigger if you want to. You would do it right bc it is easier and it is allowed
because its not a proper muscle up, its just using momentum to get up which kind of defeats the purpose of "muscle" up Can change it to swing up if that's the case
EldarCorruption but everyone is doing the same thing it’s not like someone has an unfair advantage, which is what cheating is so you really aren’t making any sense. You are making crossfit follow other sports rules when crossfit is its own sport with its own rules
Brooke Wells on the last weight - she was "sitting" as she lifted the weight - common sense tells us that once we "sit" there is no way we are getting up - we lift with our legs and once we do that the leg strength is gone, she needed to be slightly bent to be able to use her legs - amazing that she did not seem to know that
