Alright buddy. Do the exact same workout and post your time. If you lose i'll STILL do a contest with you for strict pull-ups. Lets see if you are able to put your money where your mouth is.
@@drakebane9527 Come at me bro. Moscow, Russia, Biblioteka imeni Lenina metro station exit near the FM Dostoyevsky monument. Tomorrow 7.30 pm Moscow time. Let's see what you can do with the strict pull ups thing. If you are late for more than 15 minutes you are officially considered a pull up loser for the rest of your life.
It’s butterfly pull ups not strict pull ups tho both are different and both are beneficial in their own way. If you educate yourself then you will understand 😄
@@markadamson5544 Fact, these 🛋couch 🥔potatoes are always *"EXPERTS"* but always on their backs like you know what...Butterfly pull-ups shock the Rotator Cuff, Rhomboids, Lats, Forearms and Deltoids more than regular pull-ups. 👨🏾🏫
Mat Fraser in 2014-2015: Starts an event in the back, slowly works his way up to 2nd. Mat Fraser in 2016-2020: Starts an event 2nd, slowly works his way up to 1st. Fun to watch him before all eyes were on him every year.
YES. I'm so glad the games had a netflix documentary back then. As a teenager clueless about crossfit, I enjoyed following him, and boy did it feel like I picked the right guy when he dominated the following years 🤣
@@Strings-n-muscleThose amazing athletes can do strict pull ups... and a lot. You are just another poor hater who can only call this guys out behind a computer because you would get wrecked in person for sure.
@Remekie Stevens Crossfit doesn't disqualify athletes who walk during runs. You gain no advantage walking in a run so it wouldn't be cheating would it!
Ikr. You'd think with a military style they'd do military standard pull ups. It's so much easier to swing yourself up. Even just 20 proper pull ups with the weight vests and no rests would be way more impressive.
Came to comment section to make to criticize the pullups... I am happy to see the comment section did not let me down and has restored my faith in humanity😮
@@dwheresmymana you can do 100 kipping ones with much less of a toll on your body than strict ones (in terms of saving energy and strength), hence they do it, easier and faster. If they did strict 100, the push ups would be very difficult to achieve afterwards
Don't let this distract you from the fact that Rich Froning completed Murph in 34 minutes 20 seconds just a few days ago, with strict pull up form.. That's no joke.
Athletes are definitely a lot stronger now. This was back when athletes worked out in their spare time and had to still work full time jobs to make a living. With so many sponsorships working out is their full time job so people are a lot stronger nowadays. Also doing it at a gym is a lot different than in the games because you have events before and after that tax you as well. But froning has always been a beast.
@@ThatGuy-nv7cx For sure, I wasn't saying these guys aren't specimens, because they are.. I wasn't taking that away from them. I just have a ton of respect for Rich, and a time like that with a vest, and strict form is something else.
Luke Mackie i think it would be interesting to see the other athletes in the games go all out doing strict form when they don’t have to worry about other events or anything. I’m sure there would be some crazy times put up
Taking nothing away from Rich- he's a monster for doing strict pull ups- but he did a Cindy split on his reps (5 pull ups, 10 pushups, 15 squats X 20 sets) which is a different workout than this. If Rich had to do it as a chipper, like this, he would have been slower. Probably still would crush this field though
Xfit calls them pull-ups but the xfit standard are kipping pull-ups ergo they are executed correctly. If these were legit PU, it would add 15mins minimum.
After five months doing 10 to 20 min of daily routine, people started noticing and asking questions. Of course I referred them to these videos, and they were in disbelief 😂
The judging is so inconsistent. See guys not even getting their heads above the bar counted as reps. Also, guys doing full push-ups being no repped while others don't go nearly as low getting reps counted.
they are called kipping pull-ups, a lot easier to do than regular, and they are completely legal. I would try to do a Murph workout yourself before complaining about how people do pull-ups.
They are called butterfly pull-ups and they are more for cardio not strength. They really are difficult and intense. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OenVG15QMj8.html
@@Imsamhill They may be intense of course, after awhile, but they look like they'd absolutely destroy your rotator cuffs. I'll check out the link but I'm gonna stay with my regular pull ups.
'That's right Jim! There's nothing like the feeling when you can feel that breath on the back of your neck as these guys get up close and personal. Look at Olsen's knees trembling as David's smothers him'
As a gay guy, I felt that in my soul! Huahuahuahuahuahuahuahuahuah Never seen a bunch of hot guys packed together in just one competition. These guys have awesome bodies. Couldn't pick one which is not perfect. Lots of gods on earth.
Its not calesthenic without crossfit you learn to use momentum/Cheat Still great respect for Those heavy musculair Guys. Must be easier for a smaller athlete without less muscle mass
to me that was the best part out of the whole video, this is why you do not under estimate anyone who is determined to pass you when you walk in the middle of a run.
Love you all…..you people are the true champions…..just keep up the good exercises…..wish you all the best for the next championships….I would request you to guide us towards the road to fitness….thanks & regards
@@joz1693 Well i did it and it takes 1h30 (without vest) and 2h15 (with the vest) to do not 40 minutes but you can do it with clean form. So the argument they can't do it is not a valid argument. The only thing is that as long as the judges will allow those ugly forms well they ll do it as it saves energy. People would be dumb if they did strict pull ups when every others guys is doing the non strict form. Same thing for the push up but they tend to cheat way less there. And by the way have a nice day :)
Lets talk about numbers. I’ve trained my body my whole life. I did the Murph vested. I weigh 250 at 6’4”. I finished at 74 minutes. Strict pull-ups. That last mile felt like death. I don’t give a shit what kind of pull-ups these guys did. They are absolute monsters. Much respect. Now they should hold an event with strict pull-ups. They would STILL blow most of us out of the water.
@@NeemuitdieVerlede 5 min slower? Never lol. I mean they’re extremely fit and they’re killing it, but 100 strict pull ups is 10x harder than kipping. It’s just because your muscles are activated more and longer, because you don’t use momentum of the swing to get back up again. It’s basic physics. But still, CrossFit athletes have a combination of power and cardio that most athletes (bodybuilders or calisthenics) just don’t have. The cardio aspect of CrossFit combined with lifting is just what makes it, in my opinion, the best sport to do to be a well rounded athlete.
@@lanamatchio6774 Yes but they wil just do it it smaller sets , they'll do 5-10reps rest few seconds 5-10 reps ect. With kipping they can do 10-20reps rest ect. So wouldn't take that much longer, but yeah it would fatigue them more.
well , i wouldnt be so sure my man , their backs and waists are already strong as fuck from all the workouts through the years, and their body is strong , doesnt mean that this can destroy them ... if you do this every week , then sure yes , but once per sometime is not bad.. the only bad thing i saw from this to be honest , is the fucked up crossfit pull ups , that actually can hurt your whole body , the movement is just so wrong and it might add problems through time .. if they were doing normal pull ups it would be ok..
You sound weak as hell and probably sit behind a desk all day! You have no idea how strong the human body is! What appiles to you, don't to others!.. please 🤫shut up
@@josephwolf7552 So true and that lady at the beginning says they had a day of rest Thursday, Navy seals were probably doing this stuff without sleep and minimal food, not to mention the yelling and drill instructors probably saying “that’s not a pull up, 5 more”
@@RickyTubesocks my friend was in the Navy and he actually trained with some seals not in BUDs but regular They said the video the navy puts on youtube forms not do it justice. It is a 100 times harder it is designed to weed out people. Hell week is just that hell, but that is knowledge obtained from a friend who knew a navy seal, so take it for what its worth
I’ve completed 3 Murph’s since I started my special warfare career. After being educated on LT Murphy and his career by people who knew him I was inspired to complete every Murph or PJ Memorial workout. I’m seeing a lot of controversy in the comments about the pull-up form in the comments and you all are not wrong. The pull-up form in this video is NOT military standard but this is not a military event. I do think they should not call it a Murph if it isn’t going to be the correct Murph form but I understand the respect that these athletes are showing. Another thing I saw is that military standard is once you drop from the bar or knees drop you’re done, correct. In the military you’re done, but none of these men are in the military lol. This is, again, not a military event. Even in the military none of us are doing this entire workout in one set 😂 there are VERY few people like David Goggins in the world. These athletes are competing and paying their respects to LT Murphy.I have nothing to complain about. I enjoyed the video 🤙🏽
@@lvranger4015 youve been commenting on people calling out these lazy pullups. Everyone in the fitness industry aside form cross-fitters consider kipping pullups as lazy and you use your momentum to pull yourself up. Kipping is not a pullup and everyone who thinks it is likes their shoulders get fucked.
