+pluckyduck11y He has done some amazing roles. But he is a bit under appreciated. I can't watch the next scene though. Thats how Brandon Lee ended up dying, and thats too upsetting. So I bester stop the video.
+pluckyduck11y He personally states that he doesnt like too much the Hollywood scene and the way that industry is moved. He says that loves art much more than money. This dude is a real artist that is why he doesnt like to be infront of cameras too much outside of the stage
@Pedro Correia I agree. From my perspective, this scene is epic, as well as highly inspiring for a fanfiction writer. 😊 (Plus, I can imagine a crossover between *The Crow* and the 2008 film *The Dark Knight* where Top Dollar encounters the Joker, and the Joker tells him “You want chaos? Well, guess what, Top Dollar - I happen to be the epitome of chaos myself” before asking Top Dollar what he’s the epitome of, while Top Dollar just gives him a half-puzzled and half-surprised look.)
Top Dollar is one of the greatest movie villains of all time in my opinion :) . I love his voice and it's menacing . Michael Wincott is amazing :) . The Crow is one of my favorite movies of all time :) . I love Brandon Lee :) . '' Chaos, disorder, anarchy. Well that's fun ! ''
First time I watched The Crow, btw I was obsessed with the image years before I could get to it, no internet or dvd back then, I liked him so much. He was evil, he was bad but he was so good in being bad. I knew he was bad and I liked him. Years after I watched anything related with him and I loved it. The man with the best voice ever! He brings the character he plays in another level.
Three things especially made The Crow a fucking great movie. 1) Brandon Lee 2) The soundtrack 3) Michael Wincott. This movie simply wouldn't have worked nearly as well without them.
He steals the show in every movie...from 3 Musketeers, to Robin Hood to Alien 4. His presence and voice are one of a kind. Way more roles should have come his way imo
Top dollar is hilarious as hell I love how easily bored he is with everything 😂😂😂 when he stabs the guy with his sword and then immediately says “ahh die already will ya?!l and shoots him 😂
I did this monologue for my 1st HS drama class. I felt I really did it justice, teach said I did good, I got compliments from the students afterwards. Yet something still felt wrong. My voice... Ugh... The one thing from keeping it a perfect reciting.
Ha I did something similar except I dressed and acted like top dollar by buying everyone and supplying the booze and cigarettes. And in return I had a mob of prop friends I could use like asset's. High school was great.
This movie had some of the best antagonists that I can think of. It really helped put the crow character over, not like he needed it but it still helped.
+Genocidalx The new one was on TV earlier. I hear Toby Kebbell was wasted in that (shame, because he was coming off of being KOBA!), and I actually kind of enjoyed Julian McMahon (I didn't mind him; I actually LIKED THOSE movies.). (In case you're wondering, I still actually have yet to SEE the new one, I just happened to notice it was on TV earlier.) But I agree… Hollywood, you listening? GET THIS guy… because let's face it, the RE-reboot is inevitable.
I always think it's funny the way Bai Ling says I like the pretty lights with her accent. And then the look she gives them when they laugh. If looks could kill.
Michael Wincott is most of the reason the Darksiders 2 video game was as good as it was. His voice work as Death was amazing and really typecast (rightfully so).
I'm a huge Michael Wincott fan, he needs to be in The Walking Dead, I don't care if it's just a cameo (like Michael Raymond-James in the 'Nebraska' episode), the show needs this great actor, and his awesome voice. C'mon Kirkman/AMC, cast him for a role.
The monologue that starts at 1:27 until 1:40 inspired Heath Ledger the most. People say about Brandon Lee as an inspiration but Wincott had the same inspiration to him as Brandon had
This guy would have been perfect for Euron Greyjoy in Game of Thrones, he’s pretty much exactly how I imagined Euron when reading the books (minus the eyepatch)
A brilliant villians. Has an amazing voice and delivery. I love the charlitain and s#!t heel line. This film was studied by Nolan for his masterpiece. May Brandon continue to rest in paradise. Your legacy lives forever.
+Hunter Hughes That's fair. Cumberbun did a great job but as soon as they announced the movie, I immediately thought that Wincott was the shoe in for the voice.
@ked4 I like that idea. :) (And speaking of Star Wars, I could definitely see Top Dollar ordering the death of Jabba the Hutt and Jabba’s pet rancor before taking Jabba’s place on his dais (or throne) and then making Jabba’s slave girls feel uncomfortable - although, at least from my perspective, Top Dollar is shown to be quite handsome in the looks department when compared to Jabba.)
I'm huge fan of Michael Wincott. Agree with everyone here. I think he could have been bigger if he wanted he just always struck me as the type of guy who was selective in his work. I respect that. I've only seen a handful of interviews with him all old footage but he seems like a very humble man. Wish he would return to the big screen though. His voice is so perfect and sinister in this and he doesn't need to sell anything he just owned it. I think he should have won an academy award for the role. One of the greatest performances ever. Also liked him in along came a spider but I haven't seen that one in years.
This is the man that Scott Lynch wanted to play the Gray King if ever 'The Lies of Locke Lamora' would be turned into a movie. And I agree 100%. THIS is a Villian. Driven, committed, ruthless, uncaring. He makes his own rules and does not apologize to anyone for them. In one word: EVIL. And why he does everything? Because he can. Because is fun. Period. Proper, irredeemable evil.
i can definetly hear a bit of death in there, especially with the slight trailing grunts at the end of his words. hes such an underapreciated voice actor
Michael is awesome actor and voice! Robin hood, Aliens Resurrection and even metro I know terrible film but he made it fun to watch...disorder, chaos, anarchy now that's fun ....
I always wondered who played the prophet truth from halo I didn’t even realize it was this guy. He did such a good job doing the voice of the cultist covenant leader.
I was liven the life with men of like minds …. I miss those dayz …. But I’m proud I retired… and was blessed to allow too …. They were all great actors of long ago .. music was perfect as the times were just misguided before it’s times ..
GoblinToxin oh my god. You are totally right! Michael Wincott would make the perfect Vicious. I wonder if his Top Dollar part influenced the character of Vicious originally.
Michael was an awesome ass villain in Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves and The Crow The Crow is really a badass movie and I love the Hush Little Baby part in the second movie him and Alan Rickman although I miss Alan and he's at peace
