At one point in my life I was so into The Crow franchise that I used to love this movie. It's been a long time since I watched it, but it still has a place in my heart.
I remember being heavily into the crow and saw this movie at Blockbuster. Had to rent it. Laughed my ass off when I first saw Eddie in his full on “crow” outfit.
Forgo the beer, maybe go for vodka. Hell, maybe a couple shots of Everclear. You need to kill as many brain cells as quickly as possible to sit through this half assed "sequel".
I love this movie. I'm under no illusion about this being a good movie, but to me its so bad its good. Dennis Hopper and David Boreanaz are great in this, and even Tara Reid manages to deliver a savage line.
@@snake-oz8nu The Big Lebowski is a good call. As many times as I've seen that flick, I tend to forget she was in it (small role prob a factor). Was never a fan of American Pie. I know the first one is held in a higher esteem, but it just was never my thing. 🤷🏼♂️
This movie just helped fund Furlongs drug binge. Not long after this he gained all the weight from drinking but he was doing heavier drugs around the time of Wicked Prayer. Sad cause I think we all love Terminator 2: Judgment Day as it's one of the best movies ever made. It's also sad cause the sequels just tarnished the original Crow movie so much people don't even like it being brought up. I feel like The Prophecy movies did the same with their sequels and burnt that franchise to the ground.
Not gonna lie, I used to sometimes skip your vids Mike but I can see you're improving your presentation and having fun with it and really reaching your 'flow state'. This was the best vid I've seen you do so far, really entertaining and funny. Ps. I enjoyed Wicked Prayer, when I'm lit up I tend to have an easier time disregarding nonsensical plots and bad dialogue :D
I was done with the series after City Of Angels...I've only seen 5 minutes of this and shut it off. Sadly Salvation is the best of sequels and that's saying alot.
Same. This is a pile of shit. I mean they couldn’t even get a somewhat in shape guy to play Jimmy. Shit they couldn’t even get Furlong on steroids for this role. Lord knows he wasn’t a stranger to drugs at this point in his life.
I actually agree! Alex was the closest we got to Eric with him being Eric, how he got face design is unique to the series, and it was full of interesting twist and turns that kept you on the edge of your seat.
My biggest beef with people complaining about the new Crow (that they haven't seen yet) is they say "That's not Brandon Lee". Well, of course it isn't. He's dead. And even if he was alive, it still wouldn't be the same as that moment we found ourselves in '94. The direct sequel would have been awesome if it wasn't for Harvey Weinsteins meddling. I say to Crow fans, give the new one a chance, let the past die. Langoliers style....
It's crazy you just posted this. Because I just bought this along with all the rest of the movies. And I have yet to watch this one because I remember it was really bad
I smoke with you every morning. You're my absolute favorite ❤❤ this movies so cringe but the Italian subtitles situation happened to me with lady in white 1989 and I thought "oh ok cuz they're Italian" than when it didn't end i figured it out lol
The worst part about The Crow: Wicked Prayer is that they took an awesome novel (if you can find it, read it) and turned it into this monstrosity. Despite that, this was a great review; thank you so much.
A Crow film sequel starring Mark Dacascos and directed by Richard Stanley sometime in the mid-late 90s is one of those sad what-ifs well never get to see.
Edward Furlong did the best he could with what they gave him to work with. EDIT: She flipped from being a Satanist to praying because she knew they were about to lose and was basically trying to avoid going to Hell for what she did. EDIT 2: I like the new Crow look. We've never had a Crow who came back and was really not handling it well. That looks to be what the new one is. Taking full advantage of his invulnerability to just go nuts. I get a kind of slasher villain vibe from him.
Has Lance Mungia exer explained what the hell happened with the movie? The guy did 6 String Samurai and then this movie and then just disappeared. What happened to him?
Not gonna lie, love this movie. It's so incredibly emo compared to the previous films and way way over the top. But I gotta say, I'm a little disappointed you didn't mention that this movie is an adaptation of a novel by the same name, written by Norman Partridge.
Eddie was so awesome in the 90s! Really miss him. With the crow I just don't understand why they don't try to make a movie with one of the awesome stories.. there's one about a pregnant cop and a native American in the old west.. such awesome ideas!! But they are doing remakes or made up stuff.. ugh. Well rip Brandon..
I just recently make a cut of my own and edited out all the crap parts and made it a worthy film. You just got to know how to take something really bad and get into the directors chair and make someone else's work your own. It's not a bad film if you know what you want from it.
It's like I told people if you call yourself a crow fan and you've can't see the beauty in the bill Skarsgards reboot of the crow and think the crow wicked Prayer is better then im sorry but your not a real Crow fan and while I enjoyed the Crow Wicked Prayer I have absolutely no problem saying this is easily far far far worse then the 2024 remake
I do hope John Connor gets his resurgence last movie I saw him and was actually really good. It was him with his. I think ex-wife now and the Grim Reaper/ Colonel Stewart
It's a truly terrible film, as most of the sequels are that followed the Original, the closest they got to the greatness of the first film is - "The Crow 2: City Of Angels" but it's still not at the same level of quality as the first. Sadly the new reboot also looks terrible too, considering the how bad near every attempt at making a new crow film has been, it seems as if the franchise may actually be cursed. R.I.P. Brandon Lee/The Crow.
I just finished watching Wicked Prayer (as well as the franchise at this point) and I can genuinely say it is by far the worst entry. I didn't mind Edward Furlong's performance and this movie did have a great reason for the couple being together (Lilly being the only person in the community who didn't judge Jimmy for coming from prison), but the plot is just short of a supernatural Zorro movie, David Boreanaz loses me in the last third of the movie, and Dennis Hopper... should NEVER talk the way he does in this movie. The setting doesn't work for a Crow movie and it really got under my skin at all the judging that was going on.
Yeah, the original is amazing, and I can find ok/good bits in 2 and 3 (not many though) The fourth film is utterly bizarre in all the worst ways. I struggled to even finish the film.
Dude cannot pull off the crow at all. I know the story is that ANYONE can be the crow and that means the soul being brought back could be any race, gender, height or whatever but he looks like a kid trying to fight adults. He doesn't have the masculine build or height to really bring fear and vengeance to anyone...
I enjoyed the original one with the great Brandon Lee easy, as for the last three I did like City of Angels though there should be a real directors cut and the third was fine not great but fine. Wicked Prayer 😖😖 you're gonna need a prayer for sure 😂😂😂 to watch this even then NO THANKS 😂
I'd rather give Wicker Prayer another go. I tried it back when it came out for the cast line up and the plot was sloppy. No Crow fan wanted a remake of the original film. They should have just pooped out another sequel. It would have found it's supporters. A remake is that lazy fad that Hollywood just wont kick and remaking iconic beloved classics is an insult as it is also INSANE. Why? Cheap cash grab and to insert their modern day lecturing that defeats the purpose of escapism.
This movie was so bad I couldn’t even finish it. I believe this went straight to video as well. You really had to look for a video store that carried it. The movie was 🐩💩
This movie isn't so bad now that they've done a crappy reboot. 2024 The Crow is way worse than this. 🤣🤣 The 2024 one actually used the names Eric Draven & Shelly Webster. As bad as the others are, they never tried to duplicate Brandon Lee's legacy. Thank God the 4k steelbook of the 1994 The Crow is being released today! Rip Brandon Lee 🙏 ❤⚘️
Ummm the new one is sooooooo bad they moved it from June to September 23rd. After the cinema con people who had open minds said it is so bad. They even changed the trailer & this alone speaks for itself.
